That Betty Crocker cookbook is a Find. Well done, you. The baking books from the 50's are fantastic. Please use the molds as much as you can - they're fun to work with, and they just hang on the wall when not in use. Great finds. Much fun. And the apron came out so cute. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Gosh....I'm feeling quite nostalgic watching you show your pieces. I had similar glasses given to me and my late husband as a wedding gift ( 1973). I found they broke very easily ( chipped ), so don't feel bad. The baubles remind me of my childhood...when such pieces were valued and cherished...put away all wrapped for next year. Beautiful 'pinny' too ! ( our fond name for apron)
Sometimes vintage glasses and china break *because* they haven’t been used. Using and gently washing them regularly seems to keep them in usable condition.
Love this! You had me at the vtg betty rocker cook book and then you pulled out the vtg ornaments, LOVE! The apron was super cute, love your sewing videos too.
Awesome finds, and the apron turned out gorgeous! 😍 Also great to know you enjoyed breaking your own rules, haha, please upload whatever you want on top of sewing. Your kitchen looks stunning, have you considered doing a house tour (or at least a kitchen tour)?
My mother had the same punch bowl back in the early 1970s! The cups were attached to the bowl with little hooks. I bought the 1950s replica Betty Crocker cookbook from Cracker Barrel's gift shop. I love cook books from the 1970s, I have collected a few vintage ones from Etsy shops, you may want to try that site.💕
I’ve been loving your channel! I have the same Federal snack set. I found a set of four places a few years ago and loved it and then a few weeks before my wedding shower I found another 32 sets😂 it was such a fun item to use at a party!
Really enjoy your instagram and just found your TH-cam ❤ love the vintage 60s sewing and hope to see more vintage finds, but can I also request a vintage home tour!? The few glimpses I’ve seen are so cool! Plus I just bought a house built in 1969 so I’m looking for inspiration 🤩 wishing you all the best!
Thank you so much💕💕 welcome! I’m going to do a home tour. I’m waiting to get some work done and it seems to be taking forever once it’s complete I’ll start the tour
I’ve never seen the snack set with two cups! So cool! I remember my Mom using those snack sets for wedding and baby showers when I was a kid. What a pretty apron!
Good choices you made in your thrifting haul! It takes time to build a collection, but if you keep at it, before long you'll have quite a lot of vintage items. Your apron turned out ADORABLE, love the added lace and that little pocket, just so darned cute! I really enjoy your videos, so keep doing what you're doing!
I'm going through a depressive episode, and between the music, the non-emotionally-charged subject matter, and the calming voice, this is the perfect video for me, right now. Thanks for being yourself, because you never know when that could be the sunshine in a stranger's day.
@@SewRena thank you so much! My philosophy on depressive episodes is that it doesn't matter how bad they get, they always end. All I have to do is keep looking for reasons to smile until they pass, and I'm good.
Awesome video! I have that Betty Crocker cookbook😀. It was my mum’s. There is an AMAZING recipe in it for a Bohemian Braid (yeast bread). I have made it for decades and never get tired of it. I really appreciate your videos -thank you for all the time and effort you put into your shows💗
It's nice to see another brown girl who luvs ❤️ vintage! This is how I met one of my close friends. My daughter just got my mom's sewing machine & is wanting to learn how to sew.
Love this!! And love that you’re having so much fun :) I love sharing the excitement of new antique finds with internet friends lol! And beautiful work, the apron is so pretty 🤩 (We have the same sewing machine! Mine is my mom’s first machine she bought with her own money as a young adult 🥹 - it’s very special to me, and I didn’t know you could get it in a table!)
Thank you so much! Yes all vintage machines can fit in a table you just have to find one that will work. Most tables with a square not rounded cut out will fit this machine. Facebook marketplace is a great place to look I found mine for $10
Actually, you did very well with your thrifting. That Betty Crocker cookbook is a bit of a find. Those snack trays show up in thrift stores periodically, keep your eye out for more. That apron turned out cute!
Love your vintage items !! 💜🦋💖I purchase many items at the thrift store and resell them. I mainly buy things to use in junk journals ! Love the cook book and the jello pans !
I have that exact Betty Crocker cookbook. It was my grandmother's. I use the white sauce, clam chowder, and Boston baked beans recipes. I have not found another resource that provides me with better recipes. Thanks for sharing! P.S. I love your sewing content. I love wearing and sewing vintage clothes. 💖
It's really fun to see your finds because I have a lot of those that I got when my mom died! I was born in 1957, so it's all familiar. I also have a ton of recipes from my mom and grandmother that were used to serve on those vintage brunch sets. I have two of those along with the punch bowl! So fun. From what I see of your kitchen it is adorable!!
I've never seen the luncheon plates with the second type of cup. Very nice. The figural ornaments are hard to find in tact and can be worth a lot. Love seeing the vintage items. Thank you. Gorgeous apron!
Ever come across those metal sheet cake pans with a sliding plastic lid for a cover? It's the ultimate vintage nostalgia for me. Your apron turned out to be precious. love that it's an up cycle. you rocked the dress, too.
Lovely, I am trying to learn to sew and I love all vintage things. You are so talented and make it look so easy, I hope to grow in confidence and skill as you do.
Great scores, actually good prices on the cookbooks. I too, are a gatherer of vintage items. Love your content. Those teapot ornaments are GORGEOUS, never seen any like that in all my junkin years,😂😂😂❤❤❤. Keep that snack set box, even though it's "ratty" ups the value to always have original boxes.
Your apron is beautiful ! I have several of the Retro Apron patterns and 1 or 2 vintage patterns that were my mom's. I've only made 1 with sheer material and that was just for the pockets.I never thought about using a curtain for sheer material to make an apron. One of my vintage patterns uses types of sheer material such as dotted Swiss for more of a cocktail happy hour look. I'll look up the pattern number and I'm thinking it is a Symplicity pattern. Your antique haul was fabulous! I believe the bowl and platter are Fostoria. What a deal on those! I loved the teapot/coffee pot Christmas ornaments! At least that's what they looked like to me. Those would be so cute hanging in the opening behind you in this video. Maybe hang it with ribbon or a sturdy type foil garland in the window behind you, looking into the other room. I'm not sure what you call that opening. 🤔 You got a good deal also on the plate and two cup sets.I use mine for appetizers. I think the one without the handle is for personal shrimp cocktails. That's what I thought of when you were showing it. We enjoy shrimp cocktail during the Christmas/New Year season and those would be nice to have ready for my guests with shrimp cocktail. I use the coffee cups for mine. I love the pattern on your plates. I've not seen that pattern. You got a great price on the Betty Crocker Cook book! Everything you got was awesome! Thank you for sharing. Loved watching!
I love your apron I make aprons myself and it would be nice to make one like this for a change ,I could watch and listen to you all day you are so classy ❤
Hi SewRena! This is an awesome video! I love all the serving and entertaining items! My mother in law owns several sets. My daughters always enjoy spending time with her and setting the table for meal times or late evening tea. I love the copper molds. Are they meant to be used or just for looks?
So I just HAD to check out this channel after watching A GREAT "short" of the 1966 car purchase and outfit to round out the whole scene...ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. NOW I've just GOT to ask considering your taste/style and creativity and you mentioned antique shopping with your husband for your anniversary so here it is....did you wear a vintage wedding dress as well? 😃. Ooooo and with that, have you done a closet tour showcasing all of this vintage style fabulosity?
Awww thank you so much and welcome. No I didn’t wear a vintage wedding dress. As much as I adored vintage I didn’t know where or how to find vintage at the time. I also didn’t know how to sew. No I haven’t done a closet tour.
There is this old Halloween movie called The Midnight Hour. I loved it as a kid. There's this beautiful vampire woman who is unleashed and takes over the town. That character is Lucinda and you look like her as well! She wore that perfect red lip too! I am going to go find the actresses name. Will edit it in! But it's kismet to me that you would own Lucinda's party book. Lucinda has a party thrown in her honor of sorts. I need to wait an hour and ring my mom up and have her watch this haul!! I'm paused before the sewing part. I was too excited not to share. Edit:Jonelle Allen . The movie was from 1985. She was born in the 40s. You would make a way more believable relative than the actress who played her modern day ancestor in the movie!!
I adore the little tea pot bauble and your kitchen is so bright snd beautiful
Your dress is beautiful!
Girl we got a 2-for-1 in this video... Thrift and Sewing!🤗 Loved it🙌
I felt very odd to just post a video with no sewing or creating. so I had to throw a little stitching in there. 💕💕 thanks for watching
Love your dress, and of course great video. Keep ‘em coming😊
Great items. Also, your hair is looking amazing.
Thanks so much💕

Thank you 💕

Your bound picture cookbook is in amazing condition for it's age! I had my mom's till it fell apart 🥰
Nice finds!
Thank you
That’s the prettiest apron I’ve ever seen. Great work. Iris Aarons from Australia
Thank you so much
Love this! You had me at the vtg betty rocker cook book and then you pulled out the vtg ornaments, LOVE! The apron was super cute, love your sewing videos too.
Every year I watch holiday baking shows and I want to try a puff pastry and the Bert Crocker cookbook has some great recipes I can’t wait to try them.
Awesome finds, and the apron turned out gorgeous! 😍 Also great to know you enjoyed breaking your own rules, haha, please upload whatever you want on top of sewing. Your kitchen looks stunning, have you considered doing a house tour (or at least a kitchen tour)?
Thank you so much! I’m actually working on something big to finish off the kitchen and then there will be a tour. I’m so excited to share.
Thrifting & sewing! Woo hoo! I thought I was crazy for wanting to use curtains or shower curtains to make clothes. This is super cute.
Thank you so much! I think fabric is fabric no matter what it is or was.

You found some really nice pieces.
Thanks I think so 💕

Omg wow I’m shook but also impressed. If I had somewhere to store them I’d buy more 🤣. Thanks so much for watching 💕
I love all the thrift haul stuff, that tray set with the two different cup types is amazing! I hadn't see that before. Also that apron is soooo cute!
Aw your apron reminds me of one my mom has. Great job!
Thank you 💕💕

Thank you
Oh those glass ornaments are lovely. I have snagged many at our Goodwill outlet. I always wonder what story they could tell if they could speak.

Loved the haul and love your style 😊❤️
Thank you
I’m constantly seeing various things I grew up with in the thrift stores.
It's nice to see another brown girl who luvs ❤️ vintage! This is how I met one of my close friends. My daughter just got my mom's sewing machine & is wanting to learn how to sew.

If the recipe is the same in that edition as my grandmother’s, the apple pie in the Betty Crocker book is amazing!
I will have to give it a try!!! Maybe this week I got a new oven and I’d love to try something good

I own that Betty Crocker Cookbook - got it for a wedding gift in 1978. My mom had that snack set!!!!
Those snack sets with the 2 kinds of cups are so great! You got some real bargains.
"l wasn't down for that", keeping it real and so cute 😊

The glassware is so pretty. Absolutely love the apron!❤
Loved everything about this video! That's so strange that cookbook had a single serve coffee cake but then party size everything else.
Isn’t it! Could you imagine my face after pouring the batter and everyone in the house was waiting for coffee cake 😂😂😂
@@SewRena oh gosh I would've been so embarrassed 🤣

Love it, love it! Putting the FEM back into feminine!! Beautiful U
Ive seen vintage/antique at estate sales. I love your aesthetic
I love the Christmas ornaments.
Goodwill yard sales and estate sales sometimes have some really good stuff from back in the day
Lovely, I am trying to learn to sew and I love all vintage things. You are so talented and make it look so easy, I hope to grow in confidence and skill as you do.
I would look at Ohio glass manufacturers, anchor hocking, Heisey,Imperial, etc. the punch bowl set is pressed glass, not cut glass. Love your channel.
Thank you so much, and thanks for the tip/ correction.

Great video!
Great video.
Such a beautiful lady!
How do you determine the year on things if there is not a date on it?
You can usually search the brand. And truth be told I’m always browsing old magazines and things like that so I can estimate
you are so pretty
👏👏🇯🇲
I love love vintage Christmas ornaments but geez they break so easily. 😞
