My mom was born 100 yrs ago. I have her childhood bedroom furniture, specifically, the dresser, mirror, vanity, and nightstand. My style is art nouveau and cozy minimalist, so the pieces work beautifully.
I used to use a wash board back in the 70's living in Puerto Rico for small clothes. We had a washer with the actuals rollers to squeeze the water out of clothes to line dry. I've been on the lookout for a small Secretary desk for my home office. Once, i found a good one. I went back the next day & it was sold
Oh I love that memory, thank you for sharing 🥰 You will find a secretary desk!! I’m manifesting it!!! Something I like to do is turn on notifications for a specific item on my secondhand apps and every time one is posted it’ll let me know. It’s been the best way to be the first to snag those rare items!!
I like the Victorian style. Been in several historic houses in the style which are now museums, doing my living history stuff. I could live in one. Only thing I didnt like was the clothes. I mean I love the clothes but the style, for guys anyway, was buttoned shirt, vest, jacket, hat, often a cravat of some sort and that all looks cool, unless its like 95 degrees and humid out LOL Thanks for the vid. Peace.
Excellent vlog. I have a victorian house and have a two seater carved sofa which I love. Gold frames and sconces. Very good ideas for decor. Your pink chair is stunning.love from the UK 🇬🇧.
I think someone was confusing a vanity with a wash stand. I have seen vanities with a lift up lid, but not with a wash blown inside, just for storage. A wash stand is basically 3 drawer dresser with a marble or soapstone top and backsplash. On top there would be a large wash bowl and matching pitcher for transporting the water.
In Goodwill they sell real silver, easiest way to tell is if it is heavy, real silver is heavy, the lightweight stuff that looks like silver is not, slso silver will usually have tarnish on it. I collect antiques and have quite a few things that are suggested here, most are actual antiques, but I have newer items that are similar and look antique, i've been collecting for years and you will get an eye for what is antique and what isn't, but you can still be fooled, though it is good on a budget, Avon is a big one, some of their stuff you can tell is new it looks cheap, but there is some that used to trick me the better quality items, but now, I'm starting to recognize which is which, but still get it, because it looks like a good reproduction. You forgot chamber pots and a wash basin and wash stand

I know I was confused too. I read multiple articles though that said it was a thing but I couldn't find a photo
