4 points I'd like to make: The shoelaces flailing around at 04:32 receive the Ashley seal of disapproval. The deep V-neck tee at 04:41 looks so bad. The pants at 05:09 look too skinny, and not actually tapered. The outfit 06:28 looks gorgeous, great shade of navy on the suit. Loved it.
Totally agree with first third and fourth point. The V-neck.... I'd say it looks good as long as the guy has real pecks to show. But I'd stick with saying less is more (in terms of how low the V should go).
That’s why I usually split the difference and go for a quarter break. It’s not as fashion forward as no break, but it does look better than a half break.
@@halfway2334 speaking only for myself a half break still looks sloppy to me while a quarter break or slight break has more of a modern look with very little to no paddling at the feet.
It really isn’t fashion forward, because longer socks have become very fashionable in the past 5 years or so. This look was more fashion forward in 2015. Having said that, I still like the look.
I was born in 1965, I am as old as dirt. Those of us that were keeping up the latest styles in the 80's rocked the White Sneaker. Ashley, I have learned so much from you and I am grateful. I am tired of the Marty McFly look. In all the outfits that you showed today, only the T shirt would not have looked better, to an old guy like me, than a herringbone leather sneaker or a nice boat shoe. I get that "tennis shoes" are cool for todays youth, and everyone should have their fun with the white sneaker. Ok for them, in my age group, they look like something that belongs on a tennis court. It seams so much easier just to say sport shoes are like sport shirts - wear them for the activity they were intended for and make your wife proud in nice shoes, and clothes, that are appropriate for the activity you engage in. Running shoes are for running only and so no. I am not saying what other should do, just that I have a simple rule that makes a thick headed moron like myself not prone to making disgusting mistakes.
Is there a trick to keeping no show socks from slipping off the heel? Tape or staples? Otherwise they end up in a bunch in toe of my shoes. Any help would be appreciated.
Ashley, George here... I'm looking to buy a pair of Crown Northampton white sneakers. In your humble opinion, which of these two styles is an all-around shoe. The "UPTON WHOLECUT - ALL WHITE CALF LEATHER", or the "OVERSTONE DERBY - ALL WHITE CALF LEATHER"? One is wholecut with no shoelace eyelets, and the other has white eyelets. Both sneakers are incredibly clean looking and around the same price. Which is a better fashion choice for a very casual wardrobe?
When it comes to accessorizing, besides the sunglasses and the watch, I think the pocket square can add a significant stylish upgrade to the whole outfit.
Hi Ashley! Great video! Question for you….I’ve noticed more of your videos feature more classic watches on leather bands. Do you feel that look is coming more in fashion/style (vs the ‘standard’ thick & shiny diver watch on a metal bracelet)? Would love your thoughts!
Really glad you made this. I still dig a nice minimal white sneak, but I’ve begun clinging to Reebok club c 85’s. They’re still minimal enough to wear with different items, but with just a bit more detail. I’m an Old Jewish Man in training - this is a good plan to start.
Thank you. Keep up the great work. I do have a question. Do you still like more tapered pants/jeans look, or more wide bottom? I don't mean bell-bottoms but I seem to see more relaxed fit with wide(r) bottom.
Same I love that combo no shoe socks always slip off it’s so annoying I’d rather wear my white tube socks or grey ones too they also look nice with white sneakers.
Black polo shirt doesn't look good with navy pants. White sneakers with dark socks ruins the whole thing. :D Thanks for the video anyway, great stuff again.
I literally puked when I saw the navy suit pants at 5:09. Sorry, that's not pants, that's gym tights... Do you really recommend that? Wearing tights with matching jacket and white shirt?
If you're a shorter guy, don't wear white sneakers with dark jeans or pants. Always wear shoes that are a similar tone to your pants, or you'll look even shorter.
After 9/11 happened there was a concern that Americans traveling overseas would be targeted. So the government came out with some recommendations one of which was to not wear white sneakers. Apparently the rest of the world doesn't like white sneakers as much as the US.
@@MayTheSchwartzBeWithYou Throughout life I have taken note of dress codes. They are everywhere. My current bowling league requires we all wear matching shirts with the team name or we get fined $5/night to the prize fund. It all started when I was in junior high and one morning this announcement came over the PA system: "girls no longer have to wear dresses." A loud sustained roar erupted across the entire building. So I obliviously say to the boy next to me "girls have to wear dresses?" Which is why I like watching Ms. Weston's content. She is a walking, talking, video making, dress code minting machine.
Stan Smith's look wrong with a suit. Unbranded or clean trainers with no logo would look much better with a suit. Stan Smith's should not be worn with anything more formal than chinos.
I have purchased from Sperry this year. They have various color shoes now in various fabrics and also leathers, such as a brushed finish. Not just the Sperry Topsiders boat shoes that we grew up with. Don't always need sneakers.

Ashley really likes that “no break, show some ankle” look. To me it’s too fashion forward. As well as buttoning up the top button of a polo.
That’s why I usually split the difference and go for a quarter break. It’s not as fashion forward as no break, but it does look better than a half break.
Ya I kina detest 2 of those looks. It's so geeky looking seeing buttoned to d top, not sure how ankle exposure became appealing

Yeah, she's really pushing the "hipster look is the only right look everything else is wrong" narrative

Wonderful bright energy beaming through 🌞 Kudos to your effort in making a lovely video presentation

I miss you doing official closings like this one. Bring it back! It’s classy
What do you think of about the white with gum sole? Is it as versatile as the all white?
What about brown leather sneakers?
Another good stylist video for men and miss Ashley Weston looking classy herself.
Maybe it’s just me, but as long as the tied laces are short, I really don’t think they look bad.
Do you think airforce 1 counts as white sneakers that you can wear with formal outfits or would you go with more conservative style
What color socks should be wearing Ashley ?
Great video maybe you can do a video on hemming and how to tie those clean white sneakers

Great guidance and visual examples. Who is Devin Booker's stylist? Dude's fashion game is always on point.

Am gonna buy white sneakers right away! Ashley
Great video and thanks for the tip of not wearing white socks with white sneakers 👍
I wore many white sneakers in my 20 ...but after 30 i only wear dark sneakers to the gym , walking and running...... I prefer loafers better
Hey Ya'll I'm non-celebrity Menswear stylist Kev, wear what you want. You'll be more happy in the long run.

You are a life changer 👏👏👏
Good morning Ashley, thank you for another great video. Watch type of sunglass would you recommend for round face shape?
Ok, going to pick up a pair now. :)
Hey Ashley, great video. However, could you do a video featuring looks that compliment Vans? They are a really popular shoe where I’m from! Thanks

I have 4 pair of white sneakers, from dressy to super casual.
Thank you Ashley! Love the outfit ideas!
Please do a video just for socks for casual wear with Trainers and casual leather shoes.

Love my white Air Force 1s
what socks color should i wear with white sneakers? what's wrong with white socks?
I believe the convention especially in the warmer months is to wear no-show socks.
Thanks. Wanted this video so bad
Brand of the beige chore jacket at 2:21?
Ash, it did not escape me that your spicy top mimics a classic, low top dress shoe style. You’re fun.
I don't understand why would anyone use this crewneck shirt (which is generally supposed to be an undershirt) instead of a nice polo shirt?
Hey you. Another great video
Whats up with that Daisy Duke 0.99 ¢ thrift shop blouse?
Looks fine to me. Maybe go start your own women's fashion channel.

hi ashley !
What happened to not wearing skinny pants? Or does it only apply to jeans? That blue suit look tight AF....
Do you know according to psychology shoe is the first thing women notice, wearing white is all about purity .Yes woman love these
I love white sneakers! However, for me, I would never wear them in a suit. I think a younger guy could do it. A blazer, yes! A suit no.
I'm sorry. I have been so distracted by your white lace-up top, Ashley. Wow!!! And that's all I'l say. :-)
Years on still the same advice to clueless people mistaking they're now fashionable because they have been advised. Jolly good job chop chop.
nice top Ashley 👌🏾

Black sneakers are far more my style than white. What would you pair with black minimalist sneakers?
Great !
What would we do without Ashley

I can't help but find this funny. I can't speak to 2001 fashion, but white sneakers are definitely not just an American thing in 2022.

I wear white shoes all year long 🤣😂
Never white socks?? This girl says some crazy shit sometimes smh
1st get MUSCULAR !!!
I think white sneakers are getting a bit boring. Different colour sneakers will spice things up a bit.

I agree with you but every person should have White Sneakers in their wardrobe they go with most outfits then a pair of red sneakers for example.

the problem of men with white sneakers is, make men look like a virgin

But you didn't recommend any actual sneakers???

Sneakers with a suit looks so juvenile.
