- Q & A: Making Friends, Socialization and School
Most children with ASD are more reserved and may not want to have many friends. Their social needs are different than their parents. Socialization takes place in every situation.
The Next Steps Workshop was held on April 26, 2014 in Ottawa, Ontario for parents and caregivers who suspect their child may have autism or whose child has been diagnosed with an ASD. The workshop provides strategies for parents/caregivers to help their child and help connect parents in forming a support network.
Presenters: Dr. Yolanda Korneluk, Dr. Robin Gaines, Véronique Chiasson
This workshop was funded through an Autism Speaks Canada grant.
