    Arclight carry is nothing new. Building them every round like that will broadcast the fact that you are going carry ar light. If the opponent fails to respond, then yes, you can get a win with it. But a good player will stop it.

    HOLY MOLY! I'm kinda new'ish here and to mechabellum. Currently making my way backwards through your video library... Until i witnessed this blasphemous tier list in which stormcallers weren't S+++ Utterly disgraceful slander NGL i'm giving serious thought to swimming over to finnland and filling the sky with ballistic wooden klogs fired from my level 8 stormcallers using launcher overload and extended range ;D

      Welcome! :D well its a bit old tierlist, here is an updated one: mechamonarch.com/guide/mechabellum-unit-tier-list/ (maybe wraith a bit higher). When I started this game stormcallers were super op. Then I learned to deploy all my stuff near enemy towers when he started the game with storms! No wooden klogs pls

    I used to hate Elite scpec, struggling with amount of chaff. But then I learned to switch tactics with it, and loved it. When you suddenly have lvl2 units your opponent isn't ready for, it's so hard for them to build a counter, because next turn their counter will be lvl 1-2, while your new units will be lvl 3. Also huge buff to Vulcans - they normally grind level very slowly and live much longer on lvl2.
    As for units, Hackers are the best. They are not the most efficient, but they are the most fun!

  • @monkaboy

    For the most part I agree, I think WFs have a perception that they are bad but I still think ER WF card at round can be awfully swingy still. I think Forts are a little better than where they are, I think Wraith is low A, such an fun unit.
    Outside of those nitpicks, I think Elite Spec is way stronger than you give it credit, but I think this may be a matter of personal preference and playstyle.
    Thanks for creating content

  • @LogisticsWW

    Why are Stormcallers not considered good? They feel borderline centralizing to me, and counter most ground units. I feel they counter sledges exceptionally well, since 2 volleys seem to be able to completely or near completely destroy the units.

    • @Arbeta10000
      @Arbeta10000 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I almost always lose against sledges with stormcallers after they click mech rage, and I almost always win when I do the same in the opposite situation. I think speed just makes them dodge the missiles for so long that the match is over by the time the stormcallers get to land any shots.
      They're also easy to distract, rendering them near useless for the most important part of each round. In the lategame, they get shut down by anti missile tech and devices. If it's the final round, then your opponent will have a huge economy advantage from countering your expensive units for cheap.
      It's not a bad unit I don't think, but why would I buy it when other units do the job almost just as well but with less counterplay available for the opponent?

    • @LogisticsWW
      @LogisticsWW 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Arbeta10000In my experience the sledges will often be caught up fighting long enough for the missiles to have started firing into them.
      Also in my experience, distracting units are often very easily dealt with, to the point that not more than one or two volleys will be spent on firing at them lol. I can definitely see situations where they may not be the case, but to slap one or two down seems like free DPS in a lot of situations.
      Anti-missile tech has also routinely failed me going into the lategame against stormcallers. I recall losing hard to 5 stormcallers despite having 11 mustangs and 4 anti-missile turrets. Even a handful of missiles making it through seems to be enough to significantly impact the fighting, especially w fire.
      I'm not denying your claims, but I've experienced the opposite in almost all of mine. I haven't been playing too long and it's probable I just don't have the experience, but so far in my games this is how it feels lol.

      Sledges beat storms unless your opponent turns his brain off.

    • @greuju
      @greuju 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LogisticsWW uh mustangs don't shoot missiles down well enough and if they're shooting down missiles they're not doing DPS. Mustang is great with AM if you have giants or some other clear.
      Stormies are easy to counter. Multiple waves of units, some air. Go sledges or scorp to absorb the shots.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's not a bad unit. In games where both deploy very far back they are for sure usable. And in many of those games you see both players build 2 storms. They are not good at all against sledges. Before they used to almost counter sledges without technologies but when the sledges got mech rage the storms did nothing. Now with the sledge stat buffs in recent patches the sledges don't even require a technology.

    @J_e_r_e_m_y 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thank you so much for your thoughts on these units. Specialist guides would be a fantastic addition. Im curious how you would go about addressing the power of overlords (range, RoF, atk/hp, less splash)?
    I admit that i tend to struggle vs storms. How would you say launcher overload changes storms with the faster RoF, movement, and shorted fire arc for their projectiles they seem particularly strong?

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the overlord either does way too much damage or clears small units way too fast depending on how you want the unit's role to be. I would reduce ground cannon damage, increase cost of launcher overload, reduce splash radius and revert the previous buff of increasing the projectile speed. The photon depends on what's happening with the free unit patch. If it stays like this i would rework the whole photon to do something else and buff rhinos since they rely on photon heavily

    • @J_e_r_e_m_y
      @J_e_r_e_m_y 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was also thinking that reduced splash would give it more of a defined weakness and keep the overlord from stepping on the wraiths toes as it is heavily focused on splash vs dmg. I hadn't even considered projectile speed angle and didn't know it had been buffed. Less splash makes it more vulnerable to chaff, wasps, and stangs which would open up more counterplay than overlord mirrors.

      @SurreyEZ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@J_e_r_e_m_y Yea clear roles are usually good for the game since its easier to balance and makes units more approachable for newer/intermediate players. I don't have a schedule unfortunately. Overlord is indeed opressive in the current state.
    What might make elite spec more interesting is change the lvl 1 -> 2 upgrade on tower to level 2 -> 3 for that card
    I have noticed a few hackers tend to shut down the overlord/sub crawler combo and hackers tend to work good vs tank

  • @PrinzMegahertz

    IMHO both cost control and giant spec have lost compared to earlier versions. The free unit cards often allow you to unlock giants for free, and the additional units you don't have to actually pay for get the cost control debuff.I would rate both lower.

    How are sledge hammers good in a world where scorpions exist?
    Also carry arclights are so strong if they get rolling. Hackers are D tier if you buy yourself at lvl 1. They are broken AF when the game throws you high level ones.
    Elite Spec has been feeling fairly strong to me. Level 2 crawlers in round one is broken. You can build tempo so easily.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Because overlord counters scorpions and scorpions don't counter sledgehammers

    • @EssDubz
      @EssDubz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One scorpion shot will kill 3-4 sledgehammers 3x their level. How do you protect sledgehammers against scorpions?
      Also if you play them like a tank as you mentioned, one scorpion would tank them forever.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@EssDubz You don't level the sledges. the scorpion is more expensive and can only be in one spot. Before the sledges die they clear a lot of chaff and the scorpion overkills them quite a bit and doesn't even kill the whole pack in one hit. If you let the sledges roll from other positions you just lose to them. If you cover all the positions with scorpions you lose to overlords. Also when you build multiple scorpions you usually have a really serious fang shield / wasp problem

      Scorpions work if you do it perfect or your opponent doesn't chaff up enough.

    Can someone explain to me how Overlord is S tier when it can happen that one single Warfactory with missile defense can make about 4x Overlords useless?

      They're countering 1800 resources with 1400 resources it's bad but if you're at the point where this is going to kill you then your problem is that you lost all your hp while developing only 1 threat not that the game is too swingy. If you get a win with 4 overlords on board and warfactory interceptor is a viable option to counter you then you're supposed to be spending your money doing something about that.

      From what I tested 1 WF missile interceptor can intercept about 1.8 worth of OVs. And the missile interception degrades so quickly that the OVs still take the win pretty quickly. Especially with Launcher & Ground Cannon.

    Arclight is S tier buddy, I'm really sorry about this reading of the current state of the game you have ; it's probably something about your play style where you get one of a kind and sell it after, not investing much in tier 1.
    All your tier S unit get raped by 4 tech archlight.
    4 tech archlight can be obtain as soon as turn 6.
    They are cheap, very easy to upgrade, have huge range, huge damage, a very fast firing rate.
    it's even more soo since we can adjust HP, the longer the game get, the stronger arclight dominance show off.
    Even with stormcallers and scorpions, Archlight fire soo fast that they kill everything while your opponent kill like 3-4 archlight, but you have 20 soo yeah.
    this game could be renamed Arclight commander.
    You don't even have to change your playstyle, just get a belt of archlight behind your units, 8 with 2 tech will do the trick.

      Have you considered not feeding lots of chaff to the arclights? When they can't level they are useless as carries as elite marksmen is what makes them viable. It's true Marksmen carry beats 99% of comps when it gets going, but good players shut it down very easily early.

    • @cameronbreeze4029
      @cameronbreeze4029 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with carry arclight is while it's decent for how basic it is as a comp there's no one thing you can tell people to build that shuts it down in 100% of situations and even the right units have to be built in the right way. I guess that's to say it's much easier to play than to shut down, that said once you've shut down a couple of carry arclights you'll rarely fall for it again.
      As for advice on how to do it, get ahead of it with solid chaff clear + either marksman or pheonix and prevent levels on the arclights as much as possible, sell units that feed while not enabling your dps to accomplish this (this is the part that's difficult to pull of as chaff clear needs to be matched to your opponents comp and positioning and timed to work with your main dps, rat does have a good guide on how to use and kill chaff that will get you a long way). Your chaff vs arcs should always be fangs but you can't frontline them all, you have to have 2-3 waves of fangs timed move in front of your dps units as the previous one dies.
      You aren't wrong to be frustrated by strategies that overperform at your skill level but please trust me when I say you can learn to beat it if you're willing to learn, I don't want to imply that you're not currently but you are also telling a top 20 English speaking player you know better so it does come off that way.
