I really like these kinds of guides, it's extremely helpful having things like this explained thoroughly. Would love to see a unit comp video - like what units synergize well together and make trouble for the opponent/basic strategies to have in mind to support your own build rather than just countering, etc
Great guide. I think many people will find it very informative. I've been watching some lower MMR games and chaff is typicaly the area they could improve on the most :)
Yes. Also good players build wrong chaff often. And even in like 1700 mmr people just won't buy enough chaff. So while this guide is done with lower players in mind, everyone should think twice before deploying.
Absolutely great video! Looking forward to the more videos like this, I'm at about 1100 MMR and found this video pretty darn useful and with this information I understand why you favor starting combos with crawlers and fang. I did build CHAFF, but not nearly enough. And the key reasoning for me is that the remaining carry units level faster and I can then better equip and protect them with items.
You probably mean giant summoning techs right? I was gonna put something in this video but it didn't quite fit. Thanks for the idea though, might do another video
very good guide will definitely help newer players, there are niche situations though in which sometimes its better to have less chaff, such as a vulcan vs vulcan boards, in which the player with the most crawlers will often allow opponents vulcan to reach lvl 2 first. and stay ahead because of that. Also in the event that opponent gets para item i can imagine selling chaff on 1 side being beneficial.
I have tried many times to study in the training area to see simple match up results, but I always get carried away fighting myself and making a big stupid battle haha
@@SurreyEZ i've been playing steady for about 9-12 months. But i have somewhat recently got 2 friends into the game and i want to be able to consistently carry/beat them so im trying to keep my edge by getting better. Current mmr is mid 1200's.
Chaff is a very underrated type of unit, this is why you see people with high mmr with chaff problems, they probably think building a good chaff board is a waste of money "why build this weak unit when i can build unit with bigger stats?".
Nice guide, how about placement tips? I do better playing aggressive because i find placement isn't that hard, or you can make fewer errors with the timing.
Can you please make a video on how to sucessfully defend against wraith aggro? I mean i get the gist of it, but i often end up almost killing the enemy and then there is this breaking point where everything just evaporates, usually when artillary array comes out.
I don't understand it 100% myself so I'm not yet comfortable making it just yet. But in the meantime, build 1 vulcan (or 2x HE mustangs) and 1 melting point and A LOT of shielded fangs. If they block your chaff clear with armored sledges or balls you need vulcan damage tech or multibeam melters
I wish you explained why exactly these units are performing better instead of just telling that they are. Fangs have range - so they can deal some damage without connecting to the enemy. They are also slower than crawlers, so they are more vulnurable to something like stormcallers and mustangs, who outrange them, but are much better suited for defence. Fangs have more HP and have a shield tech that complely nullifies any attack once in case of overkill, making them much more valuable as a chaff, but crawlers can replicate, creating more and more of them - a case of quality vs quantity. I'd also like to like to hear your thoughts about wasps and subsidized mustangs as chaff Edit: I'm looking at the stats on video and I can't belive my eyes. I always though fangs had more HP than crawlers, but the reverse is true?
I know this is old video so i hope you have improved as a "teacher". This is great video but there are some terms only veterans use that new player can only guess what it means and you used the term without explaining. What does "carry crawler" mean? I assume its when you aren't using them as fodder to protect valuable troops but instead they are the damage dealers? But since you didn't explain it i can only guess. I hope to see less terms like this used in future unless you describe what they mean
Since watching the video i've gone 3 and 2, but actually feel like i understanmd what i'm doing more. Hopefully can build good habits and get success overtime! Threw a game by not shielding a smoke bomb but my chaff was really effective previous round so could be 4 and 1. Thanks Mr RAT

Awesome video! Using crawlers as chaff in front of the Fort to get the Melting Point to retarget the beam is huge, I never knew that.
Thanks! This is really helpful, especially the side by side comparison of crawlers vs. fangs into different units. I'm gonna build more chaff 👍
Mobile beacon guide would be cool. Hardly ever use it. Great breakdown as always. 🎉
More top quality content, so useful. Glad to see the channel is taking off; congrats on the 1k subs!
Thanks Gnostflow! It's been a long journey
Thanks for the video, I hope you talk a little more about the summoning chaffs techs and how to use them.
You probably mean giant summoning techs right? I was gonna put something in this video but it didn't quite fit. Thanks for the idea though, might do another video
Loving your videos - I'm learning a lot! Now I just need to be able to put it all in to practice.
Thank you, this is amazing!
Glad it was helpful!
Damn i learned alot. Thanks mister Rat!

Great content ! Again you are the best educational player on mechabellum
nice! more chaff and that you can rotate helped my gameplay out a huge amount
Great video. Would love to see more like it.
thanks! I have a lot of guides in mind but they take a long time to make. So they are coming
That's the kind of video I was looking for. Thanks for the good work.
thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Nice video Well done! Lots of good tips.
Glad you enjoyed it

:D it usually leads to a very deep rabbit hole
great guides thanks!
Glad you liked them!
Great video, Surrey!
this is really good. thanx. it help me a lot.
Glad it helped!
@@SurreyEZ i start to win in 2*2 almost in each fight. i just swarm chaff and opponent cant do enything!
@@SurreyEZ also i sell high level units from cards and upgrade my swarm.
Thank you 🐀👑 💯
Master Splinter!
Very helpful!
glad it helped!
Oh shit its Rat! I used to spectate your games whenever i saw you on.
nice! are you making a comeback to Mechabellum?

Holy moly my RAT brother coming in with the super useful guide! I'm retarded I need to watch more of these

I have the exact opposite problem, where I sometimes spend the first 3 turns buying nothing but chaff :P
Thanks, Rat.
Should make my game better :)
