Quick video of how we hid our sound bar in the fireplace. The thought behind the idea was to get it off our mantle and hide all the cables. We think it turned out great but let us know what you think below!
Fireplace surround update video coming soon as well!
Total cost of the project:

Trim: $12
Magnets: $15 (only used 12 from a large package)

Thanks for the video! looks great. I want to do a similar thing but with a Samsung "The Frame" TV which looks like a picture frame.
That is a great idea!
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing. I am curious, now that some time has passed, have you had any issues with this setup? Specifically, has the heat from the fireplace caused the soundbar to get hot or possibly even caused damage?
Hi Mike. Thanks for the comment. Yes there is some concern with heat. We luckily do not run our fireplace for hours at a time but you can def notice some heat around the fireplace surround. The equipment it tucked up and away from the heat source and our fireplace has a fan pushing heat out so no real issue with equipment damage, but yes it gets warm around the fireplace.
Is that soundbar top firing as well?
Hi, No, just straight. I have a sub as well I ran behind the baseboard and tucked away in the corner of the room. But soundbar firing just straight out.
Are you getting any echoey effects?
Hi, No Echos, The supports for the insert are spaced out to miss the small speakers and the bar is pushed as close to the front as possible to avoid the sound travelling anywhere else but out. So far so good! GL!
