Just picked up a second hand one of these relatively cheaply as I know the company went under. Rides a lot easier than I expected and within minutes I was comfortable on the board (I’m 43 yo but did skate a bit as a teen and have snowboarded on and off for the last few years) A lot of fun, just hope I can keep the board going for a few years to make the purchase worth it . . .
I love my mini X I busted my head open after two weeks of owning it from not having my helmet strapped and 9 staples later I still ride it. Thanks for the video it was interesting to see someone else is perspective
Hey mate, Sydney sider here. I committed to a E-Longboard not long before viewing your initial Boosted Mini review so I missed your warning about riding on our roads. That said, I was wondering if you have any tips for riding around Sydney with an E-Longboard. I live around suburban, but would ideally be commuting in the city.
That road in your neighborhood is typical of all neighborhoods. The smoothness and vibrations on a kick versus an electric skateboard are basically the same. If you know how to Ollie on a board, you can avoid unexpected cracks and such.
I disagree, due to the weight of the board. I can ollie and avoid cracks fine on my usual boards, but trying to ollie an 8kg electric board, where all the weight is at the front, is an entirely different story. You also naturally go faster on an electric board, just due to not having to push, so every bump you hit becomes more forceful
i just bought a mini S then saw an X for like the same price so afterpaid that :| hell confusing times though with boosted under. most expensive and advertised, only to bust?
Hi James, thanks for the helpful update. I have one with a little over 100 miles and it and it’s running great. Just wondering how many miles you have on yours now?
Hey Fazer, thanks for the comment :) that's awesome you're getting so much out of your board! I'm at 637km now, which I believe is just under 400 miles
James Daly let us know if there’s any improvement on comfort that’s worth noting! I’m getting the X for portability in college, but comfort is a huge concern for me
James Daly I actually picked up the boosted mini x since this last comment. Turns out Best Buy still has a bunch of them. It’s been great. It also turns out that after some research I found a lot of parts for this board can be bought from third party’s and are unbranded parts. Also a lot of support for 3D printed parts as well. So you should be ok unless a major part breaks such as battery, remote or motor. I also think someone will buy out boosted and they are going to be selling parts etc.
@@Casual_Dad1 they have been bought out by calirides llc, i actually just bought a reconditioned mini x, for 800 from them. They're basically just selling out old inventory and liquidating the company from what I understand.
Doctorr_Whomm makes sense I bought mine at Best Buy a few months ago. I also bought an evolve gtr, the evolve definitely is a lot better. But I find my self riding the mini x more often because it’s light and simple.
@@Casual_Dad1 id love to get an evolve, or one of the full suspension powered mountain board im forgetting who makes, but they're just a touch out of practicality for a last mile transport/ weekend joyride for me currently.
Hell no, you'll just be throwing your cash in the dump unless you're willing to cover the costs of spare parts in case of any failure which is common in recent boosted products I've heard.
Hmm, I’m not sure I’d recommend buying anything Boosted now unless you know what you’re doing in terms of repairs and customisations; their services and support were a big selling point. I’d probably recommend checking out Exway boards at this stage
Still illegal in Aus and the speed/power wars aren't doing us favors with lawmakers nor is comparing to bigger slower more recognizable cyclists who already bully peds and exceed 10km/h on shared paths.

Oh no Mo! Oh mannn I hope you're okay now, sounds so painful
Might get a boosted board tomorrow looking forward to it!
I literally don't understand how u can have under 5 million subs
Aw thanks Caash, that's super encouraging
Really great review!
Stack update is my favourite segment 🙌🏻 this looks like a great piece of equipment
Thanks Ben! Yes, stack update is very important 😆
I’ve been wanting a boosted mini x for a while I have always daydreamed of me riding one lol
Haha I know what you mean, I did the same thing before I got mine 😄

Nice review ! Got mine 3 weeks ago and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever invested in. Should I be cleaning my belts out by now ?
Just wondering what you're doing now that boosted is gone, how are you getting replacements etc? I also live in Australia
I’m wondering the exact same thing

@@jamesdaly_tech I have no problems kicking up my Boosted Mini.
Really good video man! I love the way you explain things. Keep up with the great work.
PS: I would still buy the longboard version.
Thanks Miguel, I'm really glad to hear that :) What longboard would you get, something from Boosted or are you looking at other brands?
Boosted or Evolve
Great review! Would you still recommend getting one in 2020?!? A few Boosted Mini Xs around on the cheap!
i just bought a mini S then saw an X for like the same price so afterpaid that :|

Wait hold up... this guy only has 94 subs? How?! You deserve at least a mill!
Oh wow, thank you so much! Such an encouraging comment 😄

Maybe try getting bigger wheels next time. It’ll make the ride more smooth and rough surfaces! Higher top speed but it’s harder to break
Definitely agree! When I replace the wheels I'll definitely be swapping out for something larger :)

I have 85mm on mine no top speed difference. I think boasted has a limit set for safety reasons need to figure out how to take it off so I can fly.
@@EGYPTinSAC have you found how to go faster?
Why is it not in Italy I need one of it
Have you tried Evolve stoke?
I haven't, but I'm really keen to!
So what are you going to do now that boosted is out of business
I know, I’m pretty bummed about that :( I bought some spare parts in case anything breaks, and I’m going to get as much use out of it as I can!

How often do you charge the remote?
Hmm I can't quite remember, maybe every couple of weeks?
lol thought you had a bunch of subs saw you didnt then i subed dope content
Thanks Colin, that's so nice to hear 😄
What is the cost in aus
Boosted is now out of business and that means no customer support. Does this still justify the 1000 price tag?

It's great, isn't it 😄
James Daly it’s a great board

love this
I should not buy chinese brand. They trash not reliable, I should go for expensive high quality more reliable boosted board
