I personally love this episode Pete. I like the lack of background music, allowing your passion to show through. I learn a ton from your videos, even though I'm nowhere near your level. Watching this gave me some ideas for a video I'm shooting this weekend.
The hair is coming back! Let’s go!! Also, if you like antique shops, my parents on a super dope one in New Bern, NC. If you’re ever in the area you gotta check it out.
Used to go to visit NewBern all the time living at Cherry Point, missing the NCarolina friendliness here in Michigan. I might have been there and didn't know it, was 15 yrs ago.
Among all the great vids you make, the ones where you actually take photos, show your thought process, considerations and dedication stand out for me the most. It's just inspiring seeing you working with your craft.
"Вышневолоцкий пролетарий" - oh my god, man, how on earth did this newspaper end up in Canada? The first word is a name of a small city (45k people nowadays) and the second one is "proletarian". During soviet era everything bigger then a village had such a newspaper.
This is one of the best and most well made episodes I've ever seen pete put out. It's real. It's raw. More extended BTS, longer cuts. No background trendy music, etc. Just pete being pete, with good documentary storytelling. I love this.
His passion doing what he loves is so freaking inspiring! I bought a new lens and was getting ready to shoot some product photographies and this videos arrives. Perfect timing!
He went back to his roots and makes a video on how to photograph, and even though he was selling us his jewelry, I didn’t mind it because he was teaching us something useful. I missed the old Peter, thank you!
THIS is the reason why I think we all fall in love with this splendid specimen of Canadian humanity. Such presence, great tone to details in providing info, both practical as theoretical. Fuckin fantastic is what this is and goddam, it's one of my fav ones. Love ya Pete!
I am a returning viewer! Damn!!! My lost passion for videography and photography just got lit up sky high again by Peter Mckinnon!!! You inspired me waaaay back 2014 to quit my corporate Job and do what I love and now working as a Video Editor. You inspired me again to take out my camera and start shooting! Thanks a lot Pete for your content and Passion!!!
You are my all time favourite youtuber. Somedays I lost my motivation to do my work, when I watch your youtube video and its make me get lots of motivation to do work again. I'm very THANK YOU SO MUCK. Love you Peter
This has been the most satisfying product photography video you've made to date!!! I honestly tasted your photos just by staring at them!! Thank you!!!!
You are one of the major inspirations that got me to finally buy my first camera last year, and now I am a full time product photographer. So, because I can qualify this as "research" I'm getting paid to watch this. Keep up the amazing work Mr. McKinnon and thank you!
Honestly it was a bit of a fluke. I had gone in for a job interview to work in shipping at the place and during the interview I brought up my photography. Got hired on and was working out my last two weeks at my previous job. 2 days before I was set to start I got a call saying that their product photographer had quit and asked if I wanted the job.
Your product photography videos are probably my absolute favorite. It's amazing to see what elements you choose to set a scene, as well as the process!! And honestly a huge inspiration for my own beginnings within photography and discovering my personal style.
Watching you get excited about getting the perfect shot is so beautiful to watch. You are so talented and it's amazing watching you do your thing. Thank you for sharing this.
this is one of the first photography videos I've ever watched. Just listening to your creativity, thought process and attention to detail is mind blowing! Your passion is certainly shows.
My favourite video yet after many years and I am transitioning into product photography due to winter and arthritis. Thank you Peter for all this info and will help me so much!!!!
when i do product photography , I used to thought what the hell i am doing ..like putting lights here and there and clicking too many pics with weird angles..but after watching you I found out that that's the way to get the best pic.
Peter’s videos and work always has inspired me. He takes the smallest details and creates a mood making the pictures look sick with something so simple. Your #1 Peter :)
Got me inspired to do a bit of product photography, only ever really explored product videos! Awesome to see the process of set design and how you developed the scene through the shoot
It's always inspirational to come back to one of your videos, I am getting my first product paid gig and I am super inspired by watching this again. Thank you Peter!!!
I love how he illustrates that you don't need a tripod for product photography. I don't use one either, you get 10x more results and get to the killer shot in double time. Giving you a lot more creative freedom and less hesitation to just try out new stuff. With the help of Image stabilisation the results look indistinguishable.
You are so good that it hurts! And those macro shots, with all the details, wow!!! With that kind of talent for photography it would be a crime not to love it! Keep it up Peter, you’re the best!! I will look at this several times, so good!
Cool instructional and inspirational video! Just about to do some light painting product work and happened to catch this video after lunch. Let's do this! Mmmm, yeah! That's the shot! 😎📸
Blown away as always Peter! (Just picked up your bag - lovvvvin it!) I was just DYING to have you stack the rings around the incense, with the incense in the middle burnt halfway down, with the smoke just coming out of the small cracks between them. . . Such sick stuff and always blown away
Absolutely love these types of videos Pete. Always get me jazzed to go shoot some product and get clever with shit. The insight on your creative process is so helpful.
I love this video. It's very inspiring to a beginner content creator. Your enthusiasm is sooooo appreciated, I love seeing creators having fun with what they do!
I just realized... this video is making Pete make money by showing how he makes money while making money in some other ways. Good job man :)
While also helping us to make money while we are making him money
It's the inception cash-in model
He's a pirate marketeer!
I personally love this episode Pete. I like the lack of background music, allowing your passion to show through. I learn a ton from your videos, even though I'm nowhere near your level. Watching this gave me some ideas for a video I'm shooting this weekend.
Personally? What else would it be ?
Your ability to think outside the box is just next level. That 3 ring "Fly the Flag" was SPICY.

Lots of Ukranians and a good deal of Russians emigrated there.
Haha now this is an interesting comment

He went back to his roots and makes a video on how to photograph, and even though he was selling us his jewelry, I didn’t mind it because he was teaching us something useful. I missed the old Peter, thank you!
His roots are getting grey.
I don’t even wear rings but this video made me want to buy one
I also don't......didn't wear rings, but my second C+C ring came today. Now I need Pete's ring. The craftsmanship is ridiculous
The exact thoughts running through my head for this video!

I don’t think some people realize how insanely awesome this video is. Amazing work, as always! And the hair is back and I’m absolutely here for it! 🌊
your style is so up my alley its insane im not as sharp of a shooter as you but im feeling the rustic style you go for and the black backgrounds

Can you share how you started in product photography?
Honestly it was a bit of a fluke. I had gone in for a job interview to work in shipping at the place and during the interview I brought up my photography. Got hired on and was working out my last two weeks at my previous job. 2 days before I was set to start I got a call saying that their product photographer had quit and asked if I wanted the job.
