    Austin does a nice job of the older classic songs. His voice is well suited to older styles & he seems able to convey the emotion & feeling in them.

    Austin Brown is a insanely talented vocal artist and I am glad you discovered his solo work. This performance by him always brings me to tears, every single time. It is just so beautiful, I dont know why technically, I just know it is. Thank you for helping us to learn some of the reasons why, and example would be the word Hush, I knew that it was beautiful and different, just not why. Now I know. I know that you didnt care for Home Frees country flair but 3 of those guys are from the deep south and grew up in country music. I am glad you are now rediscovering them. I would love to hear your reaction to "Tears in Heaven", sung by Austin. I would also love a reaction to Austin singing "Bring Him Home" from "Les Misearbles. during a Home Free concert. There are live versions from audience members available. Austin college major was Musical Theater, and as you can tell I am a Huge Austin fan !!!!

    Austin is a great singer, he has a wonderful very expressive voice, fantastic. Tears in Heaven is another wonderful cover you should listen to and please listen to more of Home Free. Amazing Grace, Sea Shanty Medley and Man of Constant Sorrow are just three examples of many. Good reaction (much better with headphones 😀) !!!

    Isn't this one of the best covers ever?!! I love it for all the reasons you mentioned, and that huge crescendo with Sebastian on the piano gets me every time; but I love it most because he draws out every note until it tears out your heartstrings. The tempo is so good. I've heard this song a 1000x, but I really love 'this' cover. Austin (and Sebastian) is incredible! You should check out his cover of "Neon Moon" and "Tears of Heaven" too, just to mention a couple. They're simply gorgeous! Glad you found your buds. Did they help? You'll notice the difference most with the a capella groups. 😉

    It’s so beautiful isn’t it?!!! Austin has a great voice. He and Tim (bass from Home Free) sing My Maria on Austin’s deck. You can hear Tim go high. Then listen to the end and hear Tim’s speaking voice. Then check out their new release Brothers in Arms to hear Tim sink into the depths. It’s amazing. You might like Austin’s song Love Me Like That which he wrote. It’s so good. Good reaction Christopher.

    If you want to hear some fantastic harmonies from the whole group, check out "How Great Thou Art", "Helplessly Hoping", as well as their cover of "Crazy" (written by Willie Nelson, made famous by Patsy Cline). Austin sings lead on that one. I also like one of their newer ones, "One Man Band". They also just released their version of "My Country Tis of Thee" that is amazing.

    Don't be surprised by Austin's professionalism, because he does have a college degree in Music....his college professors tried to get him to pursue an operatic career....he's not an uneducated & unsphisticated hillbilly just because he sings country music

    • @terrichristenson432
      @terrichristenson432 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I guess we should be glad he did not pursue Musical Theater. Most likely we would not have been able to enjoy him like we do. He said during an interview not long ago that he might enjoy trying out for some Musical Theater, maybe a short stint.

    • @creativecrewfam
      @creativecrewfam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @kevin I think country artists get a “bad rap” if you will because of the very thing you described. Country does not equal uneducated, so I definitely agree.

      Austin studied at Oklahoma City University! (We were there together he’s always been very lovely). Same school that produced Kristen Chenoweth and Kelli O’Hara among others. 😀 Not many talk about the program as much as the big mt schools, but fun to mention it for anyone wanting to study voice but might prefer a smaller, less pressured environment. There’s a voice program for anyone out there!! Don’t sleep on the smaller schools!

    Enjoyed your analysis…I really appreciate understanding why I believe these guys are the best of all the acapella groups or individuals. I believe you would greatly enjoy his performance live with Home Free of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. The others Austin has done are unchained melody and At Last by Etta James VI in her key. Also fantastic is Peter Holden’s and Tim Foust doing Sound of Silence…the timbre of their voices are exceptional together. Just keep’em coming, you’re going to enjoy the journey! Another fave is Neon Moon and Tears In Heaven.

    i've studied Celtic history, and especially the Scottish Clearances and Irish Diaspora - i've always understood the song as a father singing to his Cleared/Emigrated son (i keep thinking Scots, because of 'glens') that the bagpipes are calling, sounding through the glens and off the mountainsides, but he'll not see his son again - but he wants his son to know that he'll always be there for him, and prays his son will come back to visit his grave and sign an Ave over it.

    Tim hasn't put out videos for all the songs on his album, but I've heard them. He does The Lion Sleeps Tonight. As you know, all of the tracks are laid by him. In this case, that includes all the animal sounds! If you're willing to do an audio only reaction, you should consider this one.

    Just beautiful... biscuits indeed! Check out HF's holiday songs... esp Do You Hear What I Hear... wait for your headphones lol... and Austin's ridiculously high notes in O Holy Night.. not to mention Super Bass Tims high notes lol That one is an older one that includes Chris Rupp (the beatboxer's brother and one of the co-founders of the group... he wears a cowboy hat.. yes.. in church... ugh lol). Then hear all of them.. including the "New" member, Chance who sings baritone/bass sing their cover of "Auld Lang Syne" .. btw a Tip for you..... listen to the entirety of the song... often at the end you will learn some interesting tidbits from the guys... and you'll get to hear their speaking voices, too. The story on how the group met each other is amazing. Austin and HF were booked on the same cruise as performers. HF saw his performance and immediately talked to him. the current tenor left and Austin came on board. Chris left the group (Adams brother and co-founder of HF) and Adam Chance was his replacement. Nothing against Chris, very talented in his own right, but Chance adds so much to the sound....this combination of voices is unmatched with everyone being so versatile....Tim, Adam, Rob and Austin can all sing Tenor, Adam can produce bass notes, Chance can cover bass and has an incredible range himself, and of course Tim 5+ octave range. I think Adam has the widest vocal range with all the percussion noises, in my opinion.

    I don't know if you've seen his original songs "Love Me Like That" and "Save the World" (on Home Free's channel) or "If I Met You Now", "Real Talk" and "Off the Grid" on Austin's channel. Also be sure to watch his rendition of "Ain't No Sunshine" - paying special attn to the talk at the end of it! I'm not sure why this one had "Blocked for Copyright" 'cuz Home Free and its individual members have been vocal about wanting their music played. Is that something that y/t is doing?

      When winter's come and all the flowers are dying
      And I am dead, as dead I well may be
      You'll come and find the place where I am lying
      And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me
      But I shall hear though soft you tread above me
