These ladies are so often referred to as being angels when they sing. Truly, during this performance I thought that they deserve that and so much more.

Lisa Kelly has been my favorite Celtic Woman performer since it's inception. Chloe Agnew is a close second. There is just something magical about her voice, at least to me.

I love their voices, including Lisa Kelly's, whom I have always enjoyed her music. She actually owns "The Lisa Kelly Voice Academy" just down the road from me in Peachtree City GA. This was a wonderful reaction. I look forward to more of your music reviews!!

WOW! I get uplifted everytime I hear their angelic voices! I also really enjoy the snipets we get of yours, Beth. With so many voices put together, it reminds me of the time at an event at Arrowhead Stadium where I, as one of nearly 80,00 men, lifted our voices up while singing several songs. Very surreal. Still waiting for another of your tunes to hit Spotify...

Love Celtic Woman. Here in the US, they show their performances on PBS television, and I always try to watch it. Maybe it's because of my roots that I love Celtic music so much. This song is mesmerizing and just draws you in, as does their rendition of "Danny Boy".

I Love This Group. They are perfect at every execution. I saw them live in St Louis a few years ago. You should listen to their version of “America” for an American it will chill you to the bone. If I remember correctly, it was shot at the same location as this song. Great review Beth.
(FYI Lucy and Martha Thomas) have a wonderful cover of this song “You Raise Me Up”. Having family roots from northern England from my father and Scottish/Irish from my mother. I just love this kind of music. Thank you Beth for this wonderful reaction.

We sing this song in church fairly often but as a baritone I really struggle reaching any of these high notes so I often take the low road. It can be challenging as a song leader to find a happy medium for our congregation. I would never select this song to sing myself but my minister often does and I accompany him singing it. Thank you Beth for reminding me about using lighter breath pressure to reach those higher notes.

2nd Singer : Chloe Agnew, she is a classical, cross over singing.
3rd Singer: Lisa Kelly, she is a Musical singer/ Classical and cross over singing.
4th Singer: Lynn Hilary. she is class singer with classical training

Beth, this was an outstanding reaction and analysis of this inspiring song and wonderful Celtic Woman! These ladies are so heartwarming; the light of kindness absolutely emanates from their eyes and countenances (much like yours, by the way)! If you'd like to react to another mindblowing rendition of this song, you should pull up the video of a young prodigy from England named Lucy Thomas who sings an outstanding duet of "You Raise Me Up" with her younger sister Martha. As a performer you know how location can be daunting at times. Shot at Slane Castle, County Meath with an occasional good breeze, and outside was a major challenge. I understand lots of precautions were taken to keep everybody safe, warm and healthy. I've done several outdoor arenas, most were good weather. One, however, I'd like to forget! ☔☔😳☔☔

Celtic women proper is the 4 ladies and the violinist. That second group you saw briefly is technically a second group a choir. Celtic Woman the group is the main singers, the choir and the orchestra. The 4 main singers all had individual careers before joining the group.

The old folk tale says that the Irish and the Scots both set sail to invade but passed each other in the fog . Upon landing they were warmly greeted by single buxom wenches and decide there was no point in going back ? These ladies are the ultimate professionals . They each could have a solo carreer but together they are magic.

There are several excellent incarnations of this ensemble, all with solid classical training, and this has been a CW showstopper almost from the outset, some 20 years ago now. This version is as good as any, and founding member Lisa Kelly (3rd singer) has never sounded better. Thanks for sharing Beth, and providing interesting notes on the song's provenance. I don't think Ireland has anything to do with it - the appeal is universal, but I do love their more traditional Irish material, with inspired arrangements by David Downes. I'm not aware of any direct connection with Riverdance.

    • @DarklordZagarna
      @DarklordZagarna 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Both Lisa and Lynn were actually in the Riverdance cast for the 2003 Special Olympics:
      th-cam.com/video/SeFtzfSu0nI/w-d-xo.html
I know Michael Flatley had left by then, so it's not considered at the same "level" as the original Riverdance, but it's still a great performance.

Technically, I think CW would be a "touring show," rather than a band (although they do have some consistent folks in the backing band, like I'm pretty sure Ray Fean has been around since the Norman conquest). The lead singers are more stable than a typical Broadway or West End production where people may only appear for a year or two, however.

I think if it was some other song about something else it wouldn't have bothered to many people.
And personally i don't think it's the "same song" but the falls and rises of it and the feel of it has really the same connection so yeah, it does feel like a more expensive ripoff in a way.
But the lyric side is where this song shines in Icelandic, talking about memory loss of a/the close one in a retrospective way, dealing with loss and memory of the lost one with in you existence.

I love your reactions and I've been watching them since you had 20-30k subs. I always wanted to ask, are you English or are you from other parts of the GB? I'm asking because you just mentioned different accents here, Irish, Scottish, English.
I, as a person who does not speak English, have an idea about it: HOW SOMEONE SPEAKS SLOWLY, I UNDERSTAND A LITTLE. A little and slowly, slowly...
But English reminds me of Monty Python (really English) and "Hooligans" (slang), "Full Monty" (simply English, mining area?). What is your English, because I don't understand classical English very well and I do, yes... I'll probably understand Australian (Julia N.) or Canadian (Ken L.) before I understand classical English.
I do not mention poetry, William S.

Would you please be so kind and react to a Marillion song 🙏. This band has yet to be discovered by the voice coaches, so will you be the first?
Their singer is awesome and lives every word he sings especially live!
The song 'Power' (live) is a great start. 👊🏻👍🏻

Love Celtic Woman! There song "O, American" lyrics by Brendan Graham Music by William Joseph was written in support of America following 9/11. It is truly a beautiful song very inspiring and uplifting (I tear up every time I listen to it). th-cam.com/video/nLNn2YflwNs/w-d-xo.html I noticed that you reacted to their performance of Amazing Grace 2 years ago!
