Best power ballad ever. This went straight into my Top 3 Band-Maid songs when I first heard it, and it has stayed up there ever since. Kanami is a genius song writer.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Band-Maid composes everything now. Their earlier stuff was given to them. Then they were allowed to "prove" themselves with Alone. Which Kanami absolutely nailed! The album after that, only 4 songs were not written and arranged by B-M. Then absolutely everything after that is all theirs. Maybe check Alone out.
This is a classic Rock Ballad, plain and simple. That is one of the (many) reasons it is one of my favorites. Too bad the live one was taken down.... Though I have that entire concert so I can watch whenever I want.
This Band Maid song is Kanami's favorite that she has written to date and it comes from deep in her heart. Fantastic power ballad! MV shot was shot in Taiwan, btw.
I have the same feeling of “I know this from some where” when I first heard this song. The only explanation I have had so far is the guitar sounds like “remembering that year’s fireworks”.
Thanks Man, Kanami is an amazing composer but the band synergy is next level. Check out; [Don't Let Me Down] for a track they got assigned yet is uplifted by them playing it. [Alone], the first all Band-Maid track to make a record, so good it resets the bar.
As you may know, Kanami is the composer to this song, it was her most difficult song to write and yet her most proudest! It’s her favorite song! A genuine masterpiece!
I've written for years that I thought Daydreaming was not only a Band-Maid classic, but maybe their best song, if you had to choose one. It's accessible, beautifully written (thank you Kanami) and performed by five incredibly gifted musicians. And the video is exquisite! Too bad relatively few people even know about it.
This one is more of a tickle the ribs before slipping the dagger in as opposed to the sledgehammer to the forehead approach. It's familiar, like something from a dream? (A reference to your t-shirt.) But in all seriousness, some of the sounds have been used in car commercials and the like. Not the music itself, just the overall vibe. Thus song so masterfully blends the feelings of ethereal dream state, melancholy, and hopefulness. I see it as a song about longing to he with someone that they cannot be with for whatever reason. The world feels empty as a result of their absence, and they hope to either unite or reunite with them in future.
There are two live versions of "DAYDREAMING": 2017, 2018. In that live version, an impressive piano introduction by Kanami is added. This is the personal fav BM track of Kanami (lead guitarist) who is also the composer and arranger of the band. If you want to hear one of her earliest works, something she wrote before she joined BM check out the official MV for “Yolo”. Here’s the link th-cam.com/video/wKZbzcUdY1g/w-d-xo.html
Hope you have their names down by now. There will be a test next time :p It was Wonderland for me I heard 1st, but this is just as powerful. The solo... just wow. An all time favorite. BAND-MAID is different on many levels. The pure skill and chemistry in the band is magic, but the incredibly sophisticated composing is just next level. I always feel like they are students of 50+ years of rock and then music in general from classical to Jazz and successfully arrange it in these mazing short and powerful modern songs. Thank you for the intuitive and intelligent review.
Endless story, Before yesterday, & Start over(jazzy?) are other songs in this type. slower, power ballad-y rock type. Thank you, I will try to find those live, but i'm finding alot of their stuff on TH-cam now is mostly official video's. Thank you for you recomendations.
Blue is always the coolest. VABS-MAID are experts at making a song sound familiar, and yet, so fresh. You'll swear up and down you've heard it in an anime somewhere, buy you can't place it. And yes you know it's a New Song, at least to you it's new. If you liked this one check out the acoustic version of 'Puzzle' sometime.
the reason it may sound familiar is because Kanami and Misa put alot of familiar tones in it from influences like U2 and Smashing Pumpkins(one of MISA's favorite bands). this song has that whole 90's grunge and alterantive rock feel to it. its unmistakable. you can hear MISA's inner Adam Clayton (bassist for U2) coming out in this song.
Hey, these girls will blow you away every song, i am 50+ songs in and still haven't found one that i didn't like! Kanami is not only a fantastic guitar player but also a true genius at writing songs, she writes most of their stuff. She has said this song was one of the most difficult songs she arranged but also one of her favorites! Enjoy and stay safe!
The familiar bit: Like The Edge from U2's chimey guitar style is what I get ('Where The Streets Have No Name' for example). Great song...so uplifting played loud.
Great reaction This has always been one of my favorites by them. The Dragon Cries is another different one. It's also in English. They have a couple of acoustic videos too.

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Agreed. I kind of choke up even though I don't understand the lyrics. They have the same way of getting to me as Nightwish and Diana Ankudinova.
Acoustic Puzzle and Anemone are part of DVD and because of that they will be probably blocked. But I recomend you to compare both version of Puzzle and you can hear Kanami (lead guitar, composer) to sing second voice. Look for Tokyo Zeppo or buy DVD if they are at stock. I mean outside yt reaction. Few reaction videos of those acoustic versions survived big wave of blocks and are still on YT. Dragon Cries was produced by Toni Visconti. Otherwise Saiki is great in wonderland, Onset is their instrumental piece and together with Fredom and Domination it makes great quartet of live songs on their official chanell. Edit. Wonderland is also live

First off quit apologizing for stopping the video, we're here to watch YOU'RE reaction to the video and if you stop a lot then so be it. We can watch this video in length any time we want. Second off, don't you dare do green, blue or purple hair, you're a guy. I recommend you keep the sides and the front wave black, the rest pure white. White racing stripe, about an inch wide, down the center on your black beard lip-to-chin....... that would be dope! .....would match your chair too....Lol! Great react man, thanks. Hello to Poland, I'm Slovak.
This song especially feels familiar but better. Possibly, similar to the power ballads of the 80s and 90s? Nice reaction! As far as hair color, how about gray/silver/white like mine😜!!!👍👍🤘🤘🤘
it wasn't really power ballad similarities, it was the specific part of the music, it honestly sounded like something i heard play in a movie or a commercial. But i could just be going crazy as well. As for the hair, I usually had it dyed silver Grey, but messed up the last time I went to touch it up, so i had to let the damaged hair grow out. Was thinking something a bit more drastic than the silver as I use semi permanent and my hair is pretty short, It grows out quick and easy to change :)
