Made me tear up- parents are so amazing. To anyone with a child with any sort of difficulty I hope you know how amazing you are and that your child has your genes and that strength too.
Within weeks of starting Dr. Oyalo's autism herbal medicine, we noticed a significant reduction in our son's sensory issues, hyperactivity and meltdowns. Incredible
My youngest brother was diagnosed with autism earlier this year. He's turning four and only has a handful of words he uses. His body language is very, very similar to Maggie's. When I watch her, and you translate what she says... I'm remembering entire conversations with him where I now start to understand what he was trying to say. Thank you.
Our son was diagnosed with autism and is still currently non-verbal however he does say random words now and again and also tries to talk time to time when he is ready to give it a shot typically it comes out as gibberish and might be weeks before he tries again. He has excellent comprehension of language but still has trouble applying requests made to him although recently this has been improving dramatically. He has the ability to understand what you are telling him at very fast talking pace and he has absolutely no problem taking action as he should. Another interesting skill he seems to possess is the ability to figure out the meaning of new words. A good example of this was the other day he was being "cheeky" so for the first time I asked him "are you being cheeky?" and he turns to me makes eye contact and puts on a smirk. Another example happened when putting on his club foot brace, he would fuss about it every night so one night I told him "you have to wear the brace so you have perfect feet" then guess what it was never a problem again after that. I do notice him doing a lot of the same kind of expressive parallels as Maggie so I think I learned a few new techniques to try! Lets face it progression is all small steps but all those small steps add up to a big one!
This is also how you should speak to any child verbal or non verbal. I always get down to their level when speaking to my kids. It just seems wrong to talk down them to them. or while standing over them so to speak. Children are people. People with real feelings. Not everyone looks at it like that. However, just like you and I, our feelings matter and so do theirs. Children are more than likely going to really listen and focus on what you are saying to them when you get down to their level, I even rub my kids gently on their head or backs when I get down to their level to talk to them. They feel more connected and bonded. It really helps! and Thanks for the video Magnolias Hope what a wonderful job your doing and great information your offering.! THUUUUMBS UP
What a heartwarming video, it's wonderful to see how you interact with and understand her, and what a happy, lively child she is. Good practical advice too. Well done.

@@OoooshetriesSs Oh gosh no. I didn't say that to make you feel stupid. You're not stupid. You see non-verbal and that is usually what it pertains to. You're okay.

This is a great video. She seems so sweet. I know her condition is much different than autism, but one of my favorite channels is fatheringautism, it's a family with a 13 year old daughter with nonverbal autism. She seems to have had great success with the dynavox pad to communicate specifics, like that she wants cereal or a cookie or orange juice

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve recently returned to working with young children and one of my little girls is non-verbal. I’m trying to find as much information as I can so I can support her while she is in my care.
I'm so glad you've figured out how to listen to your daughter. It's so lovely to see a parent that doesn't see their autistic child as a burden and is willing to meet her where she's at ❤ I just want to mention, as an autistic person myself, that holding her hands to stop her flapping is a very bad habit. We use stimming as an outlet to handle our emotions. She's flapping here because she's excited and even positive feelings need to be expressed. When this becomes truly concerning is with its use during moment of distress, as is taught by ABA (a traumatic practice that no adult autistics support). Holding a child who's not hurting anyone still during a meltdown robs them of a very effective self-soothing process, as well as bombarding them with a flood of negative tactile stimulation when they're already feeling overstimulated. Unless your child is trying to hurt themselves, what they really need is space, reduced light, and quiet. Some children may find hugs helpful in calming down, but it must be their choice. I'm not trying to come down on your parenting style or anything. I just feel that we should always try help neurotypicals to better understand their children, as they struggle so much to tell you themselves. I wish you both all the best. Truly ❤
Every child is different and think this could be pointed out within your videos. Most parents find there way and this is how you beautifully have communication with your child. it was lovely to watch but as a Mother with a very similar daughter at the same age. A baby is a real person too
Before you start to teach her talk you need to correct her behavior it’s the first step you should do
While behavior correction is a common treatment for autism with therapies like ABA, this would not be appropriate for someone with Rett Syndrome
I don't hear anything...
I would have recommended talking like a baby to her. Slower than normal. Can have sensory processing difficulties. Say name first. Do not always ask questions.
She is not communicating. She is just hyper, as most of our kids on the spectrum are. Try sign language.
