Excellent! Such a well balanced video/channel! I have caused major damage w aggressive flossing, wish this would have been pointed to me by dental professionals :)
thanks for the honesty. i despise flossing and don't. but for the last 30yrs i've used a sonicare, and now i oil pull as well as use mouth rinses with essential oils throughout the day to stop bacteria and plaque. as you say, it's removing the film that's important, and whichever way one does so effectively is the best way to take care of your teeth and gums. as they say with exercise and other things...whichever way you'll actually do it, is the best way.
Why would different dentists find different numbers of cavities? I went to a dentist last fall who told me I had 8 cavities. Went to another dentist less than 6 months later who told me he found 6. The 2nd dentist said they were all on the top, the 1st had them on both top and bottom. And after the RDH for the second dentist had taken the x-rays I asked if there were any cavities. She said she didn't notice any but the dentist would have to look it over. I had been going to an older dentist who retired, which is why I was seeking a new dentist. A few years back I remember him telling me that he had a patient who came to him that had been told he had something like 11 cavities. The older dentist found 2. A bit confusing.
@@listonsen from what I've researched they all have different standards of what cavities they considering they deem worth trying to remineralize and monitor vs doing a filling.
Crowns are a bit different than natural teeth because the contact point, where a cavity could growth on a natural tooth, is now a synthetic material. However, crowns often touch a natural tooth so flossing can still be beneficial.

@@listonsenit’s good just cavities, some suggest crowns every time you visit :)
I always had bleeding gums. When I started flossing regularly it went away. I’m going to keep doing it
That’s a good idea
So should i continue flossing or not?
What about crowns? Should you floss? And what about floss brushes?
