I've been listening to so many renditions of the St. Elsewhere theme to salute the late Norman Lloyd, who passed away at the ripe old age of 106 yesterday.
I think Dave Grusin makes HEAVENLY music! I've loved Tootsie, Falling in Love and The Firm very much. But St. Elsewhere's theme is one of my favourite melodies of ALL music! After clicking on your version out of curiosity, I was prepared to trash it. Instead, I signed into TH-cam for the first time ONLY to comment on how wonderfully you've rendered the piece! You've captured that wistful quality of Grusin's arrangement so well. And your version of the ending is also pure delight :) Blessings!
Well, I love the original rendition of the song but I like how you made it sound more like the TV theme though. Great work, could listen to it all day :D
Thank you for the ideea Ryan! I should do a short tutorial of this amazing theme song! Grusin is the king of theme songs! In 2018 i had the privilege to stand next to him in New Jersey!
One of the best covers I’ve ever heard of this theme song. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yes, he was a special person! RIP
The resonating echo xylophone effect is what makes this the best version on TH-cam. Just so pleasing to the ears.
Loved that show AND the theme. Well done Sir.

Great! Are you selling your transcription?
A little late to the party. Wanted to say - well done
Very beautiful. What sounds you used in Roland RD700SX? The mixture of timbres was very good.
Very Nice! I've never watched this tv show, but i loved the theme since I hear on Dave Grusin videos. Where are you from?
First person to do a proper tutorial of this song is gonna get some views. There are literally NONE on youtube.
