Disabled Portland Veteran Says Armed Black Lives Matter Agitators Beat, Hospitalized Him
      BY JACK PHILLIPS
      May 9, 2021
A disabled war veteran in Portland said he was hospitalized for serious injuries after a group of Black Lives Matter (BLM) agitators attacked and beat him last week.
Joe Hall, 53, said that BLM protesters allegedly armed with rifles surrounded his car when he exited his work truck, Fox 12 in Portland reported. Hall said he was driving through the area after finishing a job to his next one, and the crowd stopped his work truck as they blocked the road-a common tactic used by the Marxist group.
“All of a sudden these agitators come out, screaming, pounding on my truck,” Hall told the Fox station, adding that when he tried to drive around the group, he stopped because he thought he hit something with his vehicle.
“By this time I’ve got five people surrounding my vehicle, AR-15s, AK-47s,” Hall, who served in the Marine Corps and Army, recalled. “I pulled my .38 out of my right pocket and pointed it at the ground and told them if a weapon points at me again, I will shoot to eliminate the threat.”
Hall said that someone then tackled him and grabbed his pistol before the group started kicking and hitting him, according to the station.
Describing his injuries, the veteran said he suffered a “partially collapsed left lung” along with broken ribs, a broken collarbone, head trauma, and spinal injuries.
“It looked like he was face down and then people were kneeling on top of him,” a witness told the Fox affiliate.
Social media footage posted last week showed Black Lives Matter and Antifa agitators surrounding vehicles on a road. In one instance, one of the agitators smashed a person’s van and held them at gunpoint.
The Epoch Times has contacted the Portland Police Bureau for comment.
Hall, like many other Portland residents, said he’s leaving for good.
“I’m done, I’m done working in Portland,” Hall told Fox12. “I’m shutting my business down and I’m probably not going to be coming back.”
Several weeks ago, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler asked the public to help identify Antifa agitators and demonstrators who engaged in acts of violence.
“They want to burn,” Wheeler said in a video in late April. “They want to bash, like they did to the nonprofit Boys and Girls Club in Northeast. Really they want to intimidate. They want to assault.”
Wheeler added: “If BLM leaders can show the courage to stand up to this mob, then we all should … Make a stand and take our city back.”

This hits hard for me. I am here because my Great Grandfather and his family escaped Armenia just before the genocide happened. My great great grandfather was selling a rug to a politician and he overheard discussions in the offices of the plans to exterminate all Armenians. He went home and took his family and left all they had and fled the country. I am alive because of that and all of their extended family were slaughtered in the genocide.

What a stroke of luck to over hear the politicians talking about killing them, just because he happened to be selling a rug, and have enough foresight to get his family out of there immediately, so many people would wait and see if it was going to happen first, and then be too late, well done to his wisdom, to think about overhearing a conversation about pending murder of masses, would have been chilling to hear how, they spoke about it with hatred and cold blooded anger, I did not know about any of this history, we have a right to know

I once met a man who survived the Armenian holocaust. His family lived in an Armenian town in Turkey, where they had lived for centuries. His entire extended family was wiped out. He was out playing when the Turks arrived and he hid in the hills to avoid being murdered. When he returned to his home, everyone had been massacred. He was 6 years old at that time. He was eventually evacuated by an American Christian charity and resettled in New York in the 1920s, becoming a US citizen. After Pearl Harbor, he received his draft notice, which he told me he read with great foreboding: "my entire family was wiped out in the last war; I felt cursed and I had the feeling I was not going to survive this war". He fought as a GI in Western Europe from 1944-45 and survived. He said he felt reborn after WWII: maybe he wasn't cursed after all. He went on to become a successful businessman and led a happy life. I only knew him briefly, but he was one of those guys who lived life to the fullest, and had a kind soul. An admirable man.

Thank you so much Darryl and Jocko for covering this unimaginable and forgotten period of my family's history.
I remain resolute despite the fact that our Turkik neighbors, brothers, and sisters are raised to hate us and deny our collective past.
Being of Armenian and Greek decent, my great grandparents only knew how to speak Turkish. I'd like to think that our generation, lucky enough to be born in America, have a real chance to come together and learn from the mistakes of our ancestral past so as not to allow the leaders of this great nation to commit wrongs which require denial and obfuscation of truth.
God bless America and the enlightenment ideals for which it stands. Lord knows we can do better to secure the future for our children.

I’ve listened to quite a few podcasts about horrific periods in human history, and I can get through them usually in one sitting (not without difficulty, or short breaks) but when Daryl described the scene of a massacre where there’s gang r*pe next to children being axed to pieces, next to some one being looted, and it’s just thousands of people in a ravine, all of which experiencing this horror, I just became overcome by intense emotion and started sobbing which was surprising, I’ve been emotional while listening to series such as this but this just hit me square in the heart.
Monsters exist and they’re all humans, they’re your neighbors, they are family. Humans have the capacity for extreme evil, and we must never forget that.

I just started watching but I wanted to share my family's Genocide story.
On my dad's side they were from Ainteb (current Gaziantep) and my great grandpa and 11 of his siblings along with their parents were put on a death march to the Syrian desert, my great grandpa was the lone survivor. He witnessed his parents get trampled by horses and their heads crushed by stones. He survived after he broke off from the trail and hid during the morning and ran at night until some Bedouin people gave him shelter in exchange for him caring for their animals.
On my mother's side of the family they were wealthy and owned a pistachio orchard in Zeitoun (current Suleymanli), my great great grandpa paid to transport his family to Aleppo in carriages as soon as the troubles started and he stayed back with the males of the family to defend their land, they were never heard of or seen again.

Wheeler added: “If BLM leaders can show the courage to stand up to this mob, then we all should … Make a stand and take our city back.”

i can't stand listening to the guy accross from him. all he does is lie and bs and he keeps asking him to come back. I feel like he's forcing my hand to choose to listen to the sh*t head or not listen at all. It makes no sense. and I can't do it. I held back on this opinion in the beginning bc I thought he's notice and make the right decision on his own to stop forcing ppl to make this choice. He;s not tho. He keeps at it. Never seen someone so diligent to associate with sh*t heads before.
If you watch his past interviews with this dude you'll notice it too. I was a fan so I watched most of it. Until he started bringing speaker who obviously warp reality and lie. I never noticed Jocko was so out of touch before...I never saw him as too lazy to check his facts before. I do now. And he is persisting. And I don't get it. I am not watching another podcast like that. Its low. He's taking real tragedies and asking ppl to comment on them who obviously delight in misrepresenting reality. That's not ok.
