I started my loc journey four months ago...the SHRINKAGE!!! I was not prepared lol! My hair was waist-length and now it is just past my ear lol! I wish someone would have suggested cutting my hair first before I started, but it is ok, I have embraced it, and it is fine now. I started my own locs and I didn't use any kind of parting system, I just used my fingers because my hair is very fine and thin so I didn't want my scalp showing. I have a hundred locs, started with 98 but two were a little too big for me, I want small locs but not mini locs. Great tips by the way, love your locs.
@@kingwavyyt7395 Ah I see. Glad you've been enjoying so far. When my scalp itches, I add some Aloe Vera juice on it. But in the near future I'm gonna try adding a bit of hair grease on my scalp. When I was a loose natural, hair grease was the only thing that soothed my scalp and took the itchiness away.
Great tips!!! I'm almost 4 months locd and I'm entering the transition phase(not ugly phase) and I am embracing my locs without a retwist. This is most definitely a journey.
My daughter is a barber, she started my locs with coils. I didn’t like them and washed them out. A few weeks later I started them with a two strand twist so the thing I wished I did was left the coils along because my parting was awful and I have different size locs. I’ve been loc for 2 years now.

When you talked about not being comfortable with your hair at the start/continuation of your journey! I relate so much
