New here ! Just got my starter locs 2 days ago on super short hair , I have 90 I believe and I’m so excited for this journey. Scarves are already my best friend. lol love how you seemed to embrace it all no wigs just you❤
You are so kind! I am proud of you for embracing your unique loc journey and finding joy in the scarves! Keep doing you - my goal is to get some box braids over mine one day! 🩷✨
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful loc journey starting from a twa. This is the only video I have watched that displayed the authentic stages of how locs evolve within a year…I’m so happy! I started from a twa as well, I am now 5.5 months in my loc journey and this stage is def discouraging and playing with my insecurities. Your video gave me a new hope and appreciation for trusting the process! Continue to radiate and glow in your beauty!
This is one of the best most realistic loc journey videos. Thank you for sharing and keep going strong 💪🏿 two months strong growing it out and might try to start up next month. God bless 🙏🏿
Thanks for the loc journey. It’s hard to find videos of short starter locs. My interlocs were installed two weeks ago. I’m looking forward to this part of the journey.
Beautiful! You are the definition of trusting the process, because a lot of loc wearers don’t want to start from a t.w.a and go through that journey but I believe you will have a better connection and understanding of your locs when starting from the foundation up! They are healthy and they complement you well ❤️❤️❤️ I’m watching as I do my first retighten of my starter locs
Thank you so much!! The connection is real! I’ve gotten to see and feel the maturity of my locs; and look forward to more growth! Wishing you well on your journey, and thank you for supporting my channel! ❤❤❤
OMG!! I love your loc journey!! They are beautiful, an look absolutely beautiful on you! I just started my 2nd loc journey.!.. and Yessss!! I started from TWA again….. this stage I must say is messing with my insecurities….. however; I will trust the process… Thankfully I e been here before therefore I feel better mentally in trusting the process!! Thank you again for this detailed video!! Be blessed ❤
Thank you lovely Lee! I’ll give ya 3 tips that helped me- 1. Moisturize your locs with water before oiling! Stealing the hair is a great trick I use to lock in moisture. 2. Take as many pics as you can if you are looking to document growth and shrinkage. 3. Wrap your hair up whenever you sleep or take a nap! This has done wonders in keeping lint and clothes that shed out of my locs! Would you like more loc videos from me?
@@jasmineslayyyter thanks so much ! the tips seem very simple & effective ☺️ i can’t wait to see how ur locs continue to flourish ! & i would love to see more loc videos from you :)
Your locs are so beautiful and thick. I have checked but I can't find your loc count video. Please, how much locs do you have?, Just really curious to know, I love the thickness. Congrats on your newly married life 🎉
Love how you showed your through the stages! Im looking at your video to get an idea of how mines may look (know it won’t be exactly the same ) but I’m starting off with a similar sizing and length as you did…so it gives me hope and I’m learning how to be patient and trust the process…But overall beautiful ❤
Hey! Thanks for your questions! 1. Every 4-6 weeks (minimum) or monthly (maximum) 2. I shampoo and deep condition every two weeks. I didn’t experience a ton of build up. However now that I work out a bit more every two weeks is safe for my locs. Too much water could cause breakage at the root of it is not being retwisted.
Love your loc journey! My hair was not a TWA when I started in April of 2022 but it did shrink all the way up. I decided I was going through keep them anyway. Best dr idiom ever! I interlocked to maintain my locs. How long did it take for your coils to loc? Would you say your hair is 4 B or 4C? Lovely locs!
I love that you trusted the process, Bettye! I’d say month 7 was when my babies officially LOC’D up. I’d say my hair is between a 4b/4c. I struggled with moisture and a little breakage when I was a loose natural, but I lean more on the 4c side. I appreciate you and wish you the best on your journey! 💜
Idk why she hearted this but didn’t even try to say anything encouraging but anyways I just started mine and it does get hard but you honestly have to look at the reason your doing it and how it will look later on I’m currently 4 months almost 5 months in and I’m in the ugly stage but I know it will be worth it in the next 5 months or so …. Push through and if u actually feel like you can’t do it then let them go at least you can say you tried ✨
That’s perfectly normal. I had a small curl in the first couple of weeks, and it was so cute. But after that first retwist my ends just loc’d together and the coil was no longer there. It depends on your hair type and what “style” you want the locs to be. You can manufacture curls but I believe you have to keep some of the hair unlocked.
@@jasmineslayyyter thanks Jasmine. I'll keep this in mind when I'm starting my journey. Your locs do seem like the perfect size to be honest. Thank you for responding as well 🙏🏾🙏🏾

How often did you get them retwist? How often did you shampoo/dc your hair?

are straight ends on starter locs normal?? because i got the damaged ends cut after he finished the coils and now the ends are jus straight…
