Just the oil mixes and fragrance oil in my hair and the perfume on my body. A lot of perfumes can contain alcohol or other chemicals that are harmful to our hair so I only use them on my body.
This was super creative! I really want to get better when it comes to fragrances and oils, my nose is so particular lol! I love Chanel Chance, Jimmy Choo Illicit, & Urban Outfitters had a scent that they just discontinued that was my everyday! 😭 I will definitely try the Trader Joe combination! How often do you put the oils in your locs?
crazy i came across this video because i went to Ulta last week and purchased HER and LIGHT BLUE !! and been loving them so i got excited when i seen them here lol and how to pair them since they’re my newest and best current perfumes
How exactly are you applying these oils to your hair? Mist it with water then you’re oiling your scalp ? Or just running it along the length of your locs ?
Loved this video, thank you 💕 and definitely have similar taste to you! My top fave perfumes are actually Burberry Her but the intense version and Lancôme La Nuit Tresor too but the ‘a la Folie’ one. Its got more of a deep vanilla/amber sweet & sexy vibe than the original. It’s amazing. Can’t wait to try the essential oil blends for my locs! I know I can trust your scent blends now 💕
Omg I put nemat oils in my starter locs too lol 😂😂😂😂😂 glad to know it’s a thing!…and Amber is my fav as well! I also layer with Not a perfume along with Brazil bum bum cream and BAAAABEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Hey Kennedy, I found this to be very informative & I got a quick lesson learning about “note sense”. I love good smelling perfume & it’s usually a hit or miss for me. I do know, I’m drawn to the scent of amber. I have to study up on the note stuff, so I’ll know what it is that I’m liking in the perfumes I buy. My most recent purchases are; IDOLE by Lancôme (she did give me one of the Tresor samples & one other one Belle something?), Good Girl Supreme by Carolina Herrera (I love the bottle shaped like a shoe) & Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming by Dior. Again, me not knowing much about notes, I’ve just been going by how I like the smell. I usually wear Light Blue during the summer. As-far-as foundational oil, I have the same almond oil as you do. Thanks!!!
I love Carolina Herrara! And yes figuring out the notes help a lot when you know what you dont like. I have one perfume thats way too powdery for me and I checked out the notes so that in the future if I see a perfume with similar notes I know I may not like it. Fragrance is super interesting 💕
@@KennedyAmmber I had to come back and tell you I bought all of the essential oils you recommended and I love them. I don't have locs but I love the idea of putting together essential oils into the almond oil and putting it on my skin and hair, even my lotions. I'm hooked. 😂
@@LucienneoftheDreaming I love them on my skin too! If you ever make your own body butter they’ll be amazing in that too. We glowing and smelling great this spring 🥰
Loved this. Where do you get your essential oils? I feel like we might have similar taste. Light blue is one of my fave. D&G the one as well. Never smelled the other one
Hiiii I usually get them online or at local “healthy” and organic stores like whole foods, sprouts etc. Theres also companies like DoTerra that sell a bunch, of course online you can find a bit more variety. Just have to make sure they’re safe for skin
A week and a half is when my hair starts to feel oily... no matter how little oil I use throughout the week... I’ve pushed it to two weeks once and it didn’t do well at all...
Washing the hair "every 2 weeks" comes from the days when African American women went to the salon to get their hair straightened ("pressed") with hot combs and curled with hot curling irons. Most of these women went to the salon sometime between Thursday and Saturday so that they could have a nice hairdo for going to a nightclub on Friday/Saturday and then church on Sunday. The week in between the two weeks was the week that women went to get a "retrace" which was a light press and curl without washing the hair. This was done to avoid the expense and time involved with washing the hair again. It was just easier, faster, and cheaper to re-press the hair again. So "every 2 weeks" is not based on anything in particular about how often Afro-kinky hair should or should not be washed. It was due to a time issue since beauticians were able to do more "heads of hair" if they did not have to wash every woman's hair every time they came to the salon. I personally think that young women need to stop trying to hold on to the idea that Afro-kinky hair doesn't need to be washed any more often that every 2 weeks. That's just an old handed down tradition from the old days of the "press and curl" which is now obsolete. Bacteria starts to build up on the scalp about 24 hours after washing. Within a few more days, that bacteria will start to smell. The only way to really deal with that bacteria is to wash or rinse it off. Dabbing the scalp with alcohol is a kind of temporary solution. But hair and scalp need to be washed. With locs, there is no issue of the hair reverting. If trying to preserve a retwist is the issue, clip the retwist down and wash the hair with the clips in. But please, wash your hair. At least rinse it frequently even if no shampoo is used. People who wash their hair frequently smell differently from people who do not wash their hair as often as they should. Don't let locs get a bad reputation because they are smelly. Wash the hair. Use a blow dryer if necessary to avoid mildew. Please keep your hair clean.
This is a unique video idea, I love this Kennedy...thank you 🙏🏾

Ur second mix can u send me a list of everything and where to get it from to put together?
Are you mixing the perfume + oil on your hair? I’m confused. Or are you putting only the mix in the hair and perfume on body?
