    Yo! Thanks for the mentions of the channels. I appreciate it. I really like the GTO'S. I see in the comments that the gto hurting the barrel thing has already been addressed. They are perfectly safe. Predator wouldn't sell a product that would damage a customers barrel. That was a pretty sweet group brotha! Nice!

      Hey another subscriber also stated by the time your Barrel wore out from any kind of shooting it probably be time to replace The Airgun anyhow LOL hey thank you for letting me test the GTOs they are the best I have shot to date I appreciate all your support as well stay safe and happy shooting brother

    Great job Lou! Those GTO pellets remind me of the discontinued H&N Sniper pellets. Very cool shooting. Without the deformation one may have to be mindful of passthroughs when hunting.

      A pass through definitely seems to be a concern with these lead-free lighter pellets thank you for all the support G-Man you know the deal stay safe and happy shooting out there brother

    That was a rock solid clay test brother 😁
    _How many times I almost got those pellets but didn't because it was lead free! Haha_
    Apparently those have a very good ballistic coefficient for the weight...
    They shot very good in my opinion for a lighter pellet in a light breeze!
    "Big J" is back in force!

    Very impressive no TIMMY'S lol. I talked to Joe from predator about hurting your barrel with the GTO and he told me that there is no way that they will bother your barrel at all ! I talked to Joe about the barrel damage because I've heard a couple guys say it to !

      Well executed Timmy. Go to the source. You will have those who make assumptions in Airgunning (like this topic of rifling damage) and believe their own theories then try to pass it on as law within the realm....🤦🏻‍♂️.....👎🙄 Once again....Strong work chatting with Joe.👌

    On the lead issue... I absolutely prefer lead for just about every reason one would shoot a pellet, but barring an actual steel pellet or ball riding directly on the lands and grooves, I'd not worry about it and besides, by the time it would wear your barrel, you probably need a new gun anyways... 🙃

    Nice work Lou....👍 Definately not a bad group for a 6.79 gr. (It's like a feather) 30 yards out in some wind! Almost all of my testing with GTOs has been successful in my various rifles that I own. Incredible pellet. They are excellent in Springers where they really shine creating the most muzzle energy via the substantial increase in FPS even with the lighter gr. weights. Will they retain and show up on target with as much energy as lead? Not at farther distances where the lead-free energy has been peeled off greater than than it's lead relative. In shorter distances there actually can be comparative equals in accuracy/FPE and even more on target vs. the lead with the Spring gun results myself and Tom @ Vortek Products are experiencing through our lab and field testing. 👉💥 More to come.... Interesting that your Gauntlet was producing less FPE than with lead. Sounds like there is some details to bring a closer lens down on that experience...🧐🤔....

    • @FirstStateAirgun
      @FirstStateAirgun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for all the incredible input I've been following some of your answers I will definitely try them out of a springer soon as far as loss of energy it has happened to me with other lead-free pellets in other airguns I think it could come down to just the way it fits inside the breach or Barrel perhaps some air is going around the pellet just my thought I appreciate you taking the time and interacting with everybody as well you stay safe and happy shooting

      @@FirstStateAirgun Thanks Brother.....I appreciate that 👊😎...I believe you are onto what potentially is the cause of your FPE loss ...Air going around the pellet....🤔 Bet your collection it does. I have even witnessed what you speak of in Weihrauch Springer barrels....The bore is not as consistent as say a Lothar Walther or those other indipendant manufacturers that SOLEY make barrels.....Like, that is their forté...So....It would be interesting to see what your pellet looks like when manually pushed from breech to the backside (as to not engage the choke dia.) of the choke....🧐🤔 Have you pushed any of those GTOs down the bore? If so, how did it feel progressing down the length of it? The same?....Or were there tight/loose spots...Now you got me thinking about your Gauntlet bore...🤪😂

    Only caveats here is they can ricochet worse than lead and they likely have a shorter max distance and like any pellet will do better with some barrels than others.

    Let's help answer the question about will it hurt my rifling.....
    Without sending off the pellet for metal Annalise, to get the exact structural compound, I can say with extreme knowledge. Alloy means aluminum compound. What is the compound? No way to say exactly, but the main compound is aluminum.
    In no scientific way can aluminum deform steel rifling. Ya simply can't push aluminum hard enough to distorted steel. That's science, not me spouting off as an arm chair comment.
    That being said, aluminum like copper. Is a soft metal. It easily rips and tears becoming deformed.
    In this occasion it leaves material stuck in the rifling. Does it happen every shot, no. But if and when it does, that is the issue people are complaining about. Once ya have that lodged in the rifling, it's hard to remove. It's harder then lead so now it's an obstacle in the barrel witch will obviously lead to the lead pellets not to spin properly when being shot.
    This is why we frown on copper crosman pellets in springers. It leaves jagged slivers of copper in the barrel, alloy pellets have the same ability to do exactly that.
    I hope this helps ya understand why rifle guns were engineered to use lead and not other soft metals.
    Fun test of metal.
    Grab a copper, alloy and lead pellet. Rub them on a file a few strokes. Look at each of them where ya filed off metal. See how the only one is smooth, the lead one. The others will feel sharp and jagged. They tear tear lead is so soft it doesn't.
    Have a great day!
    Lou!!!!! Great video mate and great groups!!! You rock

    • @cornfields-crosshairs4182
      @cornfields-crosshairs4182 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm......A file? Why not just push each type of pellet down a clean barrel and then put a magnified lens down on them to compare?....🤷🏻‍♂️ That would be a more accurate test to perform on the theroy. Where the pellets are actually being dug into vs. a jagged file. Respectfully manufactured rifling is not jagged, it's sharp, consistent and smooth. Lothar Walther, CZ, BSA, Green Mountain, ect...With the debris in the rifling wouldn't it be the same treatment as lead? Rifling gets jammed up with material from repeated shooting sessions (as they do with lead and we start to see a loss in accuracy on paper) then you clean the barrel and proceed to bring it back to the acquired grouping when at its best....🤔 Thoughts?.....Seems to me that one should be ADEQUATELY cleaning the barrel when introducing a new round regardless of pellet material so that the barrel bore is only influenced by that specific round and has the opportunity to "lead in" to that specific round without remnants from previous different rounds once again having influence on the bore...🤔 You are correct in your statement that lead does not tear....It smears like running your finger in clay....Still leaves debris behind in the rifling like others....Yup.
