What our politicians and people lack is being accountable for bad decisions they made

Back when CITIC Group proposed succession planning as part of their long-term investment strategy in Zimbabwe, it was a practical and forward-thinking recommendation given Mugabe’s advanced age. However, the political elite, including Saviour and his allies, dismissed it-prioritizing short-term power dynamics over the structural stability crucial for attracting sustainable foreign investment. This was a missed opportunity to align governance with economic progress.

Why are they not doing anything at moment? There's a new dispensation wani. What's stopping them to resuscitate their project?

CITIC group surely wanted to exploit(benefit) from it's strategy of determining/influencing the political successor.
There is no free lunch. CITIC is not mother Theresa.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the time and effort you invested in interviewing the selected candidates. Your dedication to this process is highly valued. Nevertheless, I must assert that the individuals you have chosen to interview do not align with our vision for revitalizing our nation. In fact, they are representative of the very elements that have contributed to Zimbabwe's decline; they are influential figures and ringleaders who have played significant roles in this deterioration The current and former members of ZANU seem to have little grasp of economic principles and struggle to understand how to make an economy function effectively. Their lack of knowledge and experience hinders their ability to implement sound economic policies that could drive growth and stability.

Kasukuwere said he would like to know companies closed due to indigenization. G & D Shoes in Bulawayo was closed after being taken over by Philip Chiyangwa. Merlin Textiles in Bulawayo was closed after being taken over by Delma Lupepe. ZECCO in Bulawayo failed after being taken over by Philip Chiyangwa. The list is long actually.

Zengeni, you are so theoretical. China, Singapore, the US, the UK, and UAE grew their economies through strong central gvt interventions. I can give you what all these gvt did.

No1 disputes that gvt has capacity. Super large scale investments e.g NASA could only be done by gvt bcoz of risk % little profit reward. Space X is now benefitting from Gvt initiative. But gvt cannot be a normal player, it has its space, particularly regulation. These countries are so few, majority fail when gvt participates excessively because of inefficiencies, incompetence, conflicts of interests, and corruption. If those issues are not sorted better to limit gvt. Gvt should be as small as possible.

@@EdgarJnrJnr I know they did and Biti and Prof Mugano were both amazing interviews however the opposition had already discarded a great mind like Cde Biti before winning the general election while jostling for positions. It’s like Lebrons team mates breaking his leg because they are fighting for MVP but then the team loses. That’s been the opposition since 2008

I don't see what value has been added to the last episode. As opposed to last interview, you are giving your interviewee unlimited time to explain nothing. It's like listening to an undergraduate attempting to explain the role of a developmental state, public finance, public investment... Underwhelming.
