One thing that I have gleaned from this two part interview is that we've unsung heroes in the civil service. The audits from auditor and comptroller of the Zim gvt is enough testimony when it comes to checking out of the Zim's financial statements or declarations of the Zim gvt's finance. The department ensures the declared financial reports are true! Fair play to them folks they have been religiously releasing the unbiased audits every year. Biti - he's so intelligent, articulate and funny - laid it bare even for a mere mechanic like me to fathom. Also, I have noted that Zim has got industrious and dedicated politicians from across the political divide. What we lack, currently, is visionary leadership!
You cannot avoid politics whilst discussing Zim economics ipapo ma hosts you need to self reflect Biti musiyei ataure. But welldone for putting the interview Biti is such a joy to listen to. His consideration for the well-being of the smallest guy in the civil service reminds me the importance of having a politician as a Finance Minister
Guys you have given us 2 excellent and insightful shows. As the shows were done at one sitting Rufaro was getting into Troutbeck mode towards the end kkkkkkkk
Rufaro's excessively capitalistic arguments makes him come off as elitist and inconsiderate. Surely you can't argue against people earning a living wage. Huge respect for Biti. The MDC going into the 2013 elections was a huge mistake.
Capitalist ideals come across as elitist and inconsiderate. Thats why socialism/communism is so appealing. But if you focus on the outcomes, you will see that capitalism is much more compassionate and considerate than socialism/communism.
@@rufarozengeni6652 You are a capitalist extremist. No one wants communism but as Biti has highlighted we need a system that uplifts the poor and the more people who participate in the economy the richer capitalist get.
@@rufarozengeni6652 you view capitalism and socialism (can't think of where pure communism has ever been practiced) as binary systems of either or. Capitalism can be applied but with social nets for those that require assistance.
Great Interview. My takeaway is that as the private sector, we need to up our game & exploit the opportunities in the Zimbabwean economy aggressively engaging the Government of the day constructively. After the dust of political grandstanding has settled, we all want to live decent & respectful lives as Zimbabweans through wisdom & hard work. Let's be careful when engaging the IMF, World Bank, Paris Club of Donors, and Multilateral & Bilateral lending institutions/countries (East or West) to ensure that any assistance we get from them comes in to complement our own home-grown vision & plan for political/economic development. We are our own political/economic liberators as Zimbabweans.
Great show, definitely one of my favorite episodes, interesting history, the Gono and Mugabe relationship highlights the difference between politics perceptions and the realities & personalities involved in running the administration

I feel like the hosts need to watch Mdhara B interviews, especially the one he recently did with Biti on HStv. They need to give their guests time to speak and not constantly interrupt them.
No doubt that this and the first episode will be the most watched episodes ever since you started this show. It's priceless. But mawanza maedits pa2nd part.
This thing of lets not.... we don't want to be sued...ngatisataure mazita is quite backward. Let the guests speak their version of the truth. If someone wants to rebutt you can invite them to the show. Biti is also right about the socialist economies of Scandinavia. That model is different from other capitalist states. Put people first.
I found that to be silly, if Biti says something that is not true then that is on him not the platform. It seems someone is overly concerned about protecting names than issues. For example the name of a director or owner of a company is a matter of public record.
The informative gems dropped in this podcast were 👌. Brilliant guest. A small suggestion for the hosts- please work on your interview skills, it felt like you kept cutting off your guest mid sentence

Tinashe should calm down not everything is an argument and its not only his opinion that counts But otherwise this was a good discussion well done guys!!!
