I heard the band in a later interview talk about how they wouldn't do the show unless the producers let them play without the cheesy intros that were a staple of Midnight Special. They agreed and the show ended up being what you see here, just them playing their post Candy-O release music live. They sound awesome. So tight. And Benjamin Orr stands out as the true authentic rock star that anchored the band from the center of the stage. Thanks for sharing this! The only thing that could have possibly made it better would have been to see all of the commercials from the era...haha.
There's has never been anything better than this show since. I watched it every chance I got back in the day. The Cars are still the best. Miss the 80's
I always thought that Candy-O is one of the best engineered / mixed albums ever. The vinyl, 40+ years later, still sounds so crisp. I listen to it often.
The Cars First 2 albums were Amazing!!!! Loved them as a Teenager and Love them just the same now that Im a 60 year Old Man!

The band talked about this show,they had complete control.All music and no talking or Wolf man Jack .Probably the only show like that.

Easton is one of the greatest guitar players ever..few bands can do what the cars did..all live ..pure talent
