I can't imagine what the rehearsals were like. and i was absolutely blown away at how the french horn sounded like the strings at 2:17. i'm blown away at how well such a complicated piece sounds with only 5 instruments
For me, what makes this arrangement stand out is the way each instrument is implemented. Using a variety of different techniques, ranges, dynamics, and articulations makes for a much more engaging soundscape. It doesn’t feel like listening to only a flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and horn, but rather a whole assortment of wind instruments. I never get bored of the voices because they change often and are written very cleverly.
Wow, this is unreal! Fantastic arrangement and playing!
Excellent arrangement and performance - musically precise and expressive (no conductor!)
A rewarding listening pleasure, especially for those who know and love this score. 💫
Wow! This might be the best arrangement that I have ever seen of the Rite (other the Stravinsky's 4-hand piano arrangement). A piece so complex can be very difficult to arrange for such a small ensemble, but this one really made use of what it had, proving that The Rite of Spring can work on an ensemble that only allows for up to 5 notes at once.
Thank you!
Is your profile picture the bassoon solo at the beginning of the arrangement?
@@rfavakin7679 yeah it is lol
Great arrangement and great playing well done!
0:03 Introduction
2:17 The Augurs of Spring
4:54 Ritual of Abuduction
6:12 Spring Rounds
9:15 The Dancing Out of the Earth
Fantastic!!! Your performances were flawless, and the arrangement is superb!! I recall reading that Stravinsky himself admitted that, upon consideration later, he could have used much more conservative and regular time signatures to notate the piece -- but maybe he didn't realize that he could have eliminated all those annoying strings as well!!
It's mind blowing how well the performers/artist here execute this arrangement. ❤
Fantastic arrangement and playing
Oh god this sound like an entery orchestra....
WELL DONE!
so beautiful!!
Woah I love this arrangement
Stunning arrangement and performance!👌
LOVE THIS AHHHHHH
Wow!!!
This is just amazing! I am wondering with my wind quintet to play this arrangement. Could you help us with finding the sheet music?
Thank you! 😊😊
yesssssss
3:41 ❤
Any Mahler for this formation
Some music is missing at 1:30 😕
Well yeah, it’s an arrangement and it’s meant to be concise
Yeah that’s one part I don’t like about this arrangement but other than that it’s very good
@@gearaddictclimber2524 it’s literally only a minute worth of music
i clicked because the horn player is hot
Taki-sensei you’re not wrong
One might say he makes ppl... horn-y XD
Sure, it's a skillful extraction of the orchestral score and sound. But is the result good woodwind writing? I'm not convinced it is. It's a challenging showpiece for the players, but the skilled showmanship wears out after a while.
The only problem I see is that they skipped some music. Really jolting for an experienced Rite of Spring listener
You all sound great!! Sheet music available here: jonrussellmusic.com/works/the-rite-of-spring-arranged-for-woodwind-quintet/
Bravo, Jonathan! Fantastic arrangement!
