I was a teen in the 70’s… the bee gees were indescribable! Pure talent..all of the brothers were incredible singers and harmonized perfectly. They wrote together major hits for various top artists.. Barry, the oldest, had that falsetto amazing voice… but Robin’s voice was amazing as well. You need to check out songs like “Mr. Natural”, “Alone”, “I just got to get a Message to you” and “Immortality” with Celine Dion. They wrote so many many hits! I miss them and hate that I never got to see them at a concert. So glad young people are discovering the great sounds and music from an era gone by.

The Bee Gees are 3 brothers Barry in the middle, Robin on the left long hair no beard, Maurice shorter hair, beard. They started singing together as children. Barry was 9 and fraternal twins Robin and Maurice were 6. They are considered as the most influential group in pop-music history.. they wrote all their own music and also wrote hits for other top artists. Their catalogue consists of more than 1000+ songs of different genres. They had 9 #1’s were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, received countless awards. All 3 have beautiful voices and it’s mostly Barry and Robin who share leads with Maurice occasionally. A gorgeous song where you hear Barry beautiful falsetto is LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT. ❤❤❤

I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in my wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins.
Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. He's the amazing thing, they could not read musical notes. They were also awesome musicians and just played by ear.
The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs:
    Staying Alive th-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/w-d-xo.html
For Whom the Bells Toll th-cam.com/video/K5XgAqMLR14/w-d-xo.html
    Spirits (Having Flown) th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html
    Closer Than Close th-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/w-d-xo.html
    One th-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/w-d-xo.html
    You Win Again th-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/w-d-xo.html
    Bodyguard th-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/w-d-xo.html
Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) th-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/w-d-xo.html
(Destiny Child's cover has too much drama. But Barry liked it.)
Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) Andy Gibb
    th-cam.com/video/eH686Dyy16w/w-d-xo.html
At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2. They have sold more than 220 million records worldwide (I'm quite sure more by now.)
Their musical inspirations are Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; Russell Thompkins, Jr (Stylistics) William Hart, Jr (Delfonics) Brian Wilson (Beach Boys). I'm quite sure there are others, but these names are mentioned in several videos.

Barry Gibbs voice is a normal tenor. He often uses it beautifully. He uses the falsetto for a different kind of impact. Barry often sings lead but they take turns. Robin Gibb has an amazing voice and Maurice has very good voice. They sound so great together because they are brothers.

Barry is the man in the center of this tale. He is the eldest Bee Gee. The other two are Robin and Maurice who are twins. There is another brother as well named Andy. Andy was the youngest and died when he was fairly young from heart problems related to substance abuse. Robin and Maurice are also both deceased one from a twisted colon the other from complications of cancer. Barry is the eldest and only brother left alive of the Bee Gees. Andy had his albums as well. Treat your ears and heart and listen to their songs as much as possible.

The Bee Gees were 3 brothers who were born on the Isle of Man (which is between Ireland and the UK). They then moved to Manchester in the UK before emigrating later to Australia. They then returned to the UK and had some success before relocating to the USA. They have written hundreds of songs over different genres and many decades. Their harmonies are some of the best ever. They have also written for other famous singers. Only the oldest brother (the one in the middle) is still alive. The other two were twins. There was also another brother who was a solo artist but he died.

  • @MockingBirdCanta
    @MockingBirdCanta ปีที่แล้ว +3

The Bee Gees are the three brothers Gibb. Barry, the lead singer in this song, was born in 1946. The other two brothers are fraternal twins, Robin (long blond hair) and Maurice were born in 1949. They were originally from the Isle of Man to English parents, and lived in Chorlton, Manchester until the late 1950s. The family moved to Redcliffe, in Queensland, Australia. After achieving their first chart success in Australia, they returned to the UK in 1967.
They started singing when Barry was 8 and the twins Maurice and Robin were 5. They formed the Bee Gees in 1958. They wrote and produced over 1,000 songs over 5 decades and wrote for Diana Ross, Dion Warrick, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and even Michael Jackson. They were musical geniuses. They constantly reinvented themselves, constantly growing as singers and song writers.
They have sold over 120 million records worldwide (with estimates as high as over 225 million records sold worldwide), making them among the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees." With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.
Following Maurice's sudden death in January 2003 at the age of 53, Barry and Robin retired the group's name after 45 years of activity. In 2009, Robin announced that he and Barry had agreed that the Bee Gees would re-form and perform again. Robin died in May 2012, aged 62, after a prolonged period of failing health, leaving Barry as the only surviving member of the group. Their younger brother Andy was about 10 years younger than the twins. He formed his own group and was as talented as his older brothers. He did sing with the Bee Gees a few times. Andy died in 1988 from inflammation of the years, as a result of a viral infection.

No auto tune PURE TALENT! They are actual brothers Barry’s the oldest is the one in the middle and the other two are twins and then there is a fourth Gibb brother named Andy Gibb, who was the youngest and looked like his older brother Barry the one in the middle and had his own career, although he passed away at the age of 30 and his brothers took it really hard. At some point you should check out some of Andy Gibbs songs! Bee Gees have a really really deep rabbit hole. They started singing in the 60s and really became superstars in the 70s with disco.

Barry is the one in the middle, the oldest, the other two are Robin on the left, Maurice on the right, they are twins. Youngest brother Andy did not sing with group but by himself, died young. Their last name is Gibb. Maurice died next, then Robin. Barry is the last one alive. One of the greatest groups ever in my opinion. Music from 60's and 70's was the best!

This was a time when you got all dressed up and put on your nicest perfume. Then go to a nightclub and actually speak face to face with people. These all dressed up nights led to many people getting married to the person they met in the club. Because they met face to face many times without the expectation of having to go to bed with the person. You could find out if the person was a good one or a bad one. I met my " good one" 42 years ago. We are still married and happy with each other. 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren. We still dance close together. When beautiful music and beautiful words are put together, it made smoochie time special 😊.

You are right, their normal voices are deeper. In this and many other songs they sing in falsetto, a method of voice production used by male singers, especially tenors, to sing notes higher than their normal range. Barry, the guy in the middle, is the lead, but the other two are lead in quite a few of their songs. They wrote all their own songs and all 3 play several instruments.

Bell bottoms, sometimes called flare bottoms, became a popular fashion statement both here and in Europe in the mid 1960's. Their origin actually goes back to the U.S. Navy in the mid 1800's. There were several versions including bell, super bells and boot cut bells. I only wore the denim but they came in various fabrics.
