You can hear maynard saying "here comes the waterrrrrrrrrr" Whats amazing thats this is just a guitar, bass and drums and vocals . Tool is a one of a kind band. This entire album's themed around water
@@SaeedReacts. Undertow is my least favorite album to listen to. After the two most recent shows I attended, I enjoyed watching Flood performed more than any of the others. Maynard’s voice live is 100% identical to the Undertow studio album. At least It’s that way for Flood, Swamp Song, and Intolerance. Only songs I’ve heard live from the Undertow album.
Great Reaction! I like the section "I was wrong, This changes everything". It reminds me of "the dark night of the Soul", where everything you thought is not really the truth. Keep spiraling out!🌀🌀🌀
@@SaeedReacts. Hey dear, how are you? I saw your TH-cam channel. You make very nice videos. But do you know why your video is not going viral even after that? don't worry If you want, I can help you with that.
They're in your head now, and you'll never be able to get them out. Ha, ha ha. Another great reaction. Thanks for sharing some of your own struggles in this and past reactions. Most of us have our own stories too. Spiral out brother. 😊❤
SOME Tool fans were not listening to the first album when it was first released. It’s impossible to explain to them that TOOL didn’t “come into” their sound later on, as this band was totally unique right out of the box. When I put TOOL in my Alpine head unit back in 1992 it was some obscure band that nobody ever heard of and when it started playing NOBODY said “this kinda sounds like……”. It has taken 30+ years for everyone else to catch up with THEM. The historical anchor this album serves as is a window of things to come later and concepts that would get enhanced with time and experience. I, for one, find it refreshing to see a reactor that is treating their catalog in somewhat chronological digestion instead of just jumping all over the “popular” tracks for views, shamelessly, and then asking dumb questions later on because they didn’t “grow” through their music. Keep knocking it out of the park bro! I am absolutely LOVING this.
Thanks so much! I am loving all the songs from this album. It is nice to go in without judgement or this knowledge what other people think about. certain songs or albums. Looking forward to continue this journey.
Totally agree. It's a shame this reaction video has only about 750 views. Undertow is an incredible album top to bottom (no pun intended). I was lucky enough to see them live in 1992 just as "Sober" hit MTV, so not many people had heard of them. It was, to this day, one of the most intense shows I have ever witnessed by any band. They set a high water mark with this album and then kept raising it again and again.
Im 60 now. I once had a 'friend" who was in a really bad place. back in the early to mid 90's . What i understood from this "friend" is this song was a calatyst for change in his life. Most specifically the lines: "this ground is not the rock i thought it to be" and "i was wrong, this changes everything " certanily changed the direction of "friends" life. Seen Tool 10 times since 92. Last time with my 30 year old daughter.. perhaps Tool is merely a tool that lets you hear what you need to hear while somebody else gets a different message that they need to hear. . Oh and great music too. Just one guys opinion
Not sure if my second message will show but a fun fact about the Undertow album nearly all the songs relate in some way to water or have some metaphor relating to drowning or being under water. Even the name Undertow refers to a current of water that flows under the surface that leads to riptides and drownings.
So I have a Tool fan sin to admit, while I have listened to Tool 20 years I did not start listening to them daily until they posted all their music on streaming in 2019. The sin was I never gave Flood the love it deserved. Due to its long intro I thought it was one of their filler songs. I remember working and it came on and I just listened and it felt like I heard Tool for the first time. I was blown away and Flood has been in my top 10 songs since.
Remember when this album came out I use to listen to this tape on my walkman tripping on acid. I recommend you don't do drugs because they are bad but I was once young and dumb.
Great song of course but they really make you wait on this one...LOL. The wait just makes the payoff than much sweeter when the 'drop' finally comes! I've heard it a hundred plus times and it's still a killer intro and subsequent payoff.
Love me some old angry Tool! You're bouncing around the LPs like watching random Star Wars scenes across sequels. R2D2 one day and hanging with BB-8 the next!😆 Come to think of it, Watching StarWars out of sequence wouldn't matter much, would it? Glad you're having a great time. p.s. You won't be let down with the rest of this LP. Disgustipated is more "conceptual" but Intolerance, Prison Sex, Undertow, 4°... Banger! Banger! Banger! Banger!

Did not know the album was water themed. I will relisten to the songs i have done see if i can spot it. Thanks.
I mean it's called undertow. Which is a current underwater right?
This was the highlight of the most recent show I went to... So freaking heavy!
This must be awesome live!
They played it for me in Fresno!

Drums, drums ine the deep. Fly you fools.... Seems appropriate 😝
Same same, OKC for me. They dropped confetti during Flood 🤘
Definitely ignore people that tell you to skip old Tool. Good work.
Thanks! I have enjoyed all the songd on this album, so i will continue.

Heard this live for the 1st time in OKC Feb 3rd. I always thought the intro on the album was a little long, but it was badass live.
I can imagine that live it a totally different experience.
💯 this was amazing live !
@@Soljarag5 completely changed my perspective on the song (not that I ever disliked it)
Drove 6 hours to be at that exact show.
@scottdolby I've done 3 hrs many times to see TOOL (OKC, Wichita, Tulsa, KC), but 6 is incredible! I applaud the effort.
it's always magical when someone realizes tool is in their DNA. it's clearly in yours. my friend.
All the songs i have heard so far speak to me in a way i never thought it would. So glad i found their music.

Still remember my first walkman! Wasnt old enough to be tripping though, but found that out later. And had to learn about your advice the hard way.
Omg do Potions by Pucifer I love it

For real! I thought i had the instrumental 😅.
I prefer early tool myself.
Their first album Opiate is almost like tool playing garage rock, and that has its own appeal.
I love all the songs on the Undertow album i have heard so far.
I mean you might as well do all of Undertow now, how about Prison Sex next? Interesting to hear your take on that haunting song
Will check that one out as well! Thanks.
Not too much or a fan of Undertow but Flood is a great one.
