Love when Jared says “let’s stop pretending to be surprised” (or something like that lol) … it’s sad but true. When I was on the apps, I would make sure my pics were on the wholesome side, my prompts were mostly light with one more serious, and I would include ONE pic showing off the bod. What the person reacted to would tell me a lot straightaway. I wouldn’t even match with the men who reacted to the body picture It’s a science y’all lol
That reaction was a big miss imo, turning the ‘sad but true’ actions of men instead into somehow the problem of the emailer for having a rational affronted reaction to it was the miss. While it is a sad but true reality, don’t normalize making this the woman’s problem for not realizing that type of behavior has become more common. She asked a legitimate question from her experience, which included a hiatus from dating, she wasn’t ’clutching her pearls’.
@@SL-xk5pd I meaaan Jared’s not making it normal and neither am I… sadly it just is normal… there are other comments of ladies expressing a similar experience. That’s why I put what my approach to dating apps was. It was helpful for me, might be helpful for someone else
@@chrristiinaaa I guess to clarify, I viewed him to be normalizing that somehow the emailer is wrong to have the reaction she had. Instead I think she had a very normal person take on what ultimately most seem to think is reprehensible behavior.

I’m just offering my experience. When I attracted a certain type of man over and over, I chose to look at myself and see any variable I could fix so that I attract less of that kind! I didn’t see it as me “having” to change something about myself, but I did notice ways I *wanted* to fix what I was putting out. I had more control than I thought :)
Yeah just because it’s not surprising doesn’t mean the behavior shouldn’t change. It just says a lot about the quality of the men on the apps. All of us have had similar experiences so that’s enough to tell me this is common. Stop normalizing men who send inappropriate pictures or sexualize women. I really did not enjoy Jared's take on this. My advice to this girl is report these men to hinge and get them kicked off the app. It's not fun as a girl to be constantly sexualized. Jared makes light of it but if he was constantly getting harassed in person, he would have another opinion. Being harassed online vs in person is the same thing in girl world. Both horrible

I used to hook up with this guy who only had one ball (no it wasn't Steve from Sex and the City lol). I didn't even notice until he said something.
