  • John from www.discountjuicers.com/ shares why he won't buy a Breville juice fountain cold or other high-speed juicers because they can be can waste expensive produce and creates a sub-par juice.
    SAVE $55 off the Nama J2 Juicer by using coupon code DJJ210 at Namawell.com. Order at www.bit.ly/j2juicer
    In this episode, you will learn the specific differences and similarities between the Breville Juice Fountain Cold Juicer and the Nama J2 self-feeding cold press slow juicer. You will learn if it is worth buying the Nama J2 Juicer instead of a Breville BJE430 High-Speed Centrifugal Ejection Juicer.
    First, you will hear a summary of this episode if you don't want to watch it to learn which is the best juicer between these two machines. You will learn why the Namawell J2 juicer is a much better juicer than the Breville juice fountain with cold spin technology.
    Next, John will compare each model, part by part so you can learn the differences and similarities between the juicers. You will learn the pros and cons of each of these machines and how each of these juicers works and how that affects nutrient quality. You will learn which produce items are better juiced in a slow juicer and which produce items are better juiced in a high-speed juicer.
    You will then learn how to assemble and disassemble each juicer. It is important to assemble each juicer properly, or it will not turn on due to a built-in safety switch.
    Next, you will learn how many decibels each juicer emits when running, so you can determine which juicer is louder and how much more noise it makes.
    Next, John will do a juice-off comparison test, and juice equal amounts of organic tangerines You will see the comparison of yields and discover which juicer made more juice and how much foam was put into the juice.
    You will learn how wet the pulp is from each juicer, and how much juice was lost due to the ineffectiveness of the cold spin technology of the Breville juice fountain juicer. You will learn how efficient the Nama J2 is when John juices the Breville pulp in the Nama 2 to get 2.5 more cups of juice!
    Finally, John will share his summary of these two juicers and make his recommendation about if you should buy the Nama J2 Juicer or Breville Juice Fountain with Cold spin technology. You will discover John's opinion on this topic after watching this entire episode.
    After watching this episode, you will learn the differences between the Nama J2 Juicer and the Breville High-Speed Style Juicers and why you should buy the Nama J2 over the Breville.

    I currently own a Breville and I just purchased a Nama J2. There is a world of difference between the two juicers. For 16 ounces of celery juice, I had to use two bunches of celery; not to mention the pulp would be dripping wet when using the Breville. I used the Nama J2 and I only had to use one bunch of celery to yield the same amount, and the pulp was significantly drier after one use.

      Again; they are two completely different kinds of juicers. Comparing a centrifugal to a masticating juicer is like comparing mowing your lawn with a manual mower to a motorized one.

    The Nama is a masticating juicer, the Breville a centrifugal juicer. Masticating juicers will ALWAYS extract more juice. You are comparing two different products.

    Well... I have a Breville centrifugal juicer and will have to save up to justify the cost of getting another right now like the Nama. Plus the way I look at it, ANY juicer that leads you to a healthier lifestyle is better than a box of HoHo's and a pizza. And as far as heating the juice... how much do you think it heats up in a body before the nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream anyway?? 🤔 Again, froth or whatever is still healthier than NEVER juicing at all.

      I am in the market for a juicer. I had a Juiceman many years ago. I make smoothies but want to invest in a good juicer. I have been reading and watching several videos of different juicers. One thing I noticed is that he did not show us the pulp bin of the Breville before he started juicing. How do we know
      there wasn't water already in the pulp bin to make the Breville look bad? It's obvious he likes the Nama very much and it shows. Your bias is highly obvious. Seems like you are pushing the Nama. And I agree any juice will oxidize. Again, am someone who wants to buy a juicer so I have no biases. For those who already own a Breville why doesn't he let them trade it in at Discount Juicers for a Nama? I think that's a great idea. Also, you talk too much. I just want to hear and see the fair differences of the Juicers. I was surprised to see they both heated up the juice by 3 degrees. Then he downplayed it with the Nama.

    • @icecol22
      @icecol22 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly!!! I also have a Breville Juice Fountain.I don't currently have 600.00 to spend on a Nama,even though,I absolutely love it. I agree with you. Having a juicer is better not having a juicer at all. I'm using it until I have the money saved to get the juicer that I want. Better than being on the sofa eating Bon Bons.🤣🤣🤣

    • @richsmith5516
      @richsmith5516 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main reason for the color difference is the Nama puts a LOT of pulp in the juice and the Breville is basically pulp free. If he filtered the Nama juice with a fine mesh strainer afterwards, it would probably be the same color and less yield. Some people like pulp and some people don't. It's a preference thing.

    Hi John: This video was so helpful! I threw away my Breville yesterday and ordered the JAMA. I have been juicing daily kale, fennel, cucumber apple and ginger -- so delicious but I was using more and more cucumber to get the yield (one quart) and also was watching more and more foam, more veg in the catcher and more sediment in the juice. I knew the Breville was inferior but until I saw this side by side video I was really shocked by just how inferior. I am so excited to try the JAMA with my juice recipe and see and taste the difference. Thank you for your excellent work!

    I told my ex-wife that I was buying a juicer and she said, "Don't bother. We already have one that you can take." "We do??," I replied since I don't ever remember seeing us use one. "Yes, We bought it in 2014!" (BTW, she did the same thing three weeks ago when I said that I was buying an ice cream machine. Presto, we had a Cuisinart ice cream maker! And two weeks ago when I was looking at a mixer, what should appear but an unboxed KitchenAid Professional mixer! Geez, I wonder if there are any children that I don't know about?!) The juicer was a Breville Juicer Elite. Finally used it today. I had a bag of organic Gala apples and a humongous Asian pear off of my tree. John was absolutely right: there was a tremendous amount of foam I don't want to undersell the amount of foam that you will obtain. On the positive side of the ledger: (1) Juicing was QUICK! Drop an apple in, push the plunger, and you are ready for the next apple. Which also means that it was VERY EASY; (2) Cleanup was both QUICK and EASY as well. Pull the plug, throw over the armlock, pull out the pieces of apparatus, scrape off the detritus, rinse the piece of apparatus under a spigot, dump the detritus from the capture container, rinse that out as well, and you are done! (3) All parts of the machine were either heavy duty metal or solid plastic. Nothing about this machine was cheap or flimsy. This machine was built to last; (4) the juice tasted fine. Like the cider we used to get from Schutts Cider mill when I was a child. I know that oxygenation destroys Vitamin C which you get from citrus, so I can understand John's reluctance in using the Breville for citrus. I do not know how oxygen affects other vitamins, however. I can also understand how the Breville would not handle green leafy produce: the mechanism employed by the Breville is not conducive to juice extraction from such produce. But like John said, any juicer is better than no juicer. And this Breville is solid and does juice effectively, if not efficiently. Carrots are next.

  • @rh6789g
    @rh6789g 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Would love to see you do the same test with Carrots to see the difference between the two types. I wish you had picked the two extremes to show the difference. I have a Breville and I’ve done a lot of Carrots, beet and apples and the pulp isn’t that wet. Thanks for your video though!

      @discountjuicers  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As I mentioned in this episode if I juiced carrots, the results would be much closer, and the breville might actually win in yield, but the issue would still be the oxidation done due to the higher speed on the breville, which means lower nutrient quality. Many people juice for healing, and I believe due to the lower nutrition, people may not have the best healing benefits.

But I remember I felt more energetic. Then I got the juice man juicer.nit sounded much louder by far. Went back to using the omega. Bought a jack la juice tiger in 1989. It only lasted two months. Just got my nama j2 and tried making clemetine juice and it tastes strong, bitter not even close to what clementines taste like. Can someone explain me why? I woukd have thought that nama j2 would have made it taste even better

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did your clementine's contain seeds? If so the breville, will KICK out the seeds and not juice them. Meanwhile, the Nama J2 will crush up the seeds ane extract the bitter compounds of the seeds. The seeds contain high amounts of antioxidants, they can protect the human body from damage caused by free radicals, reduce oxidative stress, improve energy levels and fight symptoms of aging. If this is the case, choose citrus that dont have seeds if you want a sweeter juice. But if you want a juice that can provide you greater health benefits then juice more citrus with seeds!

    Read reviews about the part the pulp comes out getting clogged a lot in the Nama. Anyone else experience that?

    • @dbosset
      @dbosset ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, masticating or cold press juicers WILL clog more, especially when juicing more dense fruits and vegetables than tangerines. I suspect that carrots, beets, green apples, and ginger would need to be cut into small pieces before being added to the Nama and the pressing compartment would need to be cleaned at least once in the process. I have had Hurom cold pressers work that way.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Original Nama J1 aka Nama 5800 did have issues with the juicer clogging. I did not recommend (and still do not recommend the Nama J1) due to this reason. Nama took 3 years to design the Nama J2, and the clogging issue was solved for the most part. I can only remember one time I clogged the Nama J2 when I was juicing something that I shouldn't have. If you follow the instructions that come with the Nama J2 on how to use it, I doubt it will clog.

    This comparison is kinda ridiculous lol … 200 dollar centrifugal vs 550 dollar masticating slow juicer. Also .. the Breville you are using only has one speed. If you would have used the 400 dollar “ cold fountainXL “ with a variable speed selector for soft / medium and hard fruits and veggies you would have much different results. The XL produces very dry pulp and you can hardly squeeze any juice out of it. Not saying it’s better than the Nama but a much better comparison to then weigh out the pro’s and con’s of each. If you have the option I feel it’s best to have both. Better juice From the Nama and much quicker set up /juice time /clean up with the Breville. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Why not use a blender ? Wouldn't you get more fiber and nutrients than a juicer ?

    • @mollytrap
      @mollytrap 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you want to consume the nutrients from a whole bag of carrots for example, putting them in a blender would make a smoothie larger than most people could/would drink. You also couldn’t absorb those nutrients as quickly because the insoluble fiber would slow down the absorption. Smoothies have their own unique benefits, but so does juicing. Juicing is the best way to flood the body with massive amounts of nutrients at once while providing a lot of hydration. Smoothies make a convenient and healthy meal.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are pros and cons to each juicing and blending. I recommending doing the one that will benefit you most. In the case of tangerines, I personally would rather blend them to keep the all fiber, but in the case of carrots, I would rather remove some of the fiber (removes insoluble) and keeping the soluble fiber (about 50%) so I get better absorption of the nutrients in the carrot juice and I am able to get more nutrient absorption Here is a video where I go into further detail th-cam.com/video/-Sdz_6ym2E4/w-d-xo.html
