The cowl on my workshop rocket stove, had 1cm holes in it. Designed as a vent, rather than a flue, but I thought it would still be ok. After a few months I was having problems getting a dwar and being smoked out trying to light it. The cowl had clogged up. Cut the webs to open up the holes to a more sensible size and all has been well since. But surprised how even such big holes got blocked.
A price that brings hot tenting into a much better chance of reality for a lot of folks I would have thought, I would certainly consider one of these, my old frontier stove needs replacing.
I've still got my Frontier stove and still good after 8 years but I didn't use it much, it is just too heavy for most of the camping I do. This little stove is just the ticket

Nice one Sandy. Mine arrived three days ago and I have “burnt it in” ready for my first hot tent camp tomorrow overnight and then for three days next weekend. I have played safe and purchased a carbon monoxide alarm. I was a little concerned about how open the flue/arrester is, I had a spare peanut feeder so I have used the mesh from that to line the top of the arrester without blocking it in any way, I then made sure I gave it a “hard” burnout and it worked a treat. Enjoy mate, I intend to!

Not a fan of that damper. A lot of fumes can come right out that slit. Other than that, it looks to be a nice stove. Thanks for sharing.

I would reccomend making a wire mesh to fit inside the spark arrestor. This year was my 1st year hot tent camping,it truly is a Great stove for a little over 300$ USD. Be Safe friends!

Hi David, I shall be 60 next year. Got to get out as much as possible:) I am subscribed to John Pawsons channel. It would be great to meet you so any time your down Wiltshire way get in touch (via comments section probably best best) and see if we can get a meet up and rideout planned. I shall be away on my Himalayan later this week. Going to Snowdonia for a few days, it will be chilly and I doubt I'll be bringing the stove as the tent for it has yet to arrive. Lets hope it stays dry.
Did you order the smaller stove Dan? The one with the oven isn't so good unless you take the oven out, then it would be great. The smaller stove without oven is in mny opinion the better one
@@englishwoodsman If you watched the whole video Dan you will see that I use two stoves, a smaller one and a bigger one with the built in oven, the built in oven doesn't work very well, for smaller tents like the OneTigris Iron wall the smaller stove WITHOUT oven is the better stove, just the right size:)
@@englishwoodsman YES The same stove as in this video is the better stove and good value too, I've used mine quite a bit now, a little bit of warping but they all warp in time. Pomoly maybe a better stove but costs a lot more money
Iv'e been wanting one of these folding stoves for ages. Seen them on aliexpress where you can order one as a sample, and have thought about it. A few differences I've seen from the aliexpress on is it doesn't have windows, and the flue exits from the back with a 90 deg elbow, leaving the entire top surface flat and free for cooking / pot / pan.
I bought this just recently and love the stove. The chimney, not so much! Had to buy a longer chimney as my tipi s almost 9 ft tall. Got a bit of wind and the chimney collapsed, now it's garbage. I wanted to get proper pipe sections and can't find 3.1 inch diameter solid pipe. So disappointed at this because I really love the stove!
Nice one - my Mrs. would kill me, how did you get Mandy to agree (I need advice)? Excellent for prepping when the SHTF!! Ultra light and can easily take it if you have to bug out! I also love that it is collapsible!! Good choice! Stay safe and healthy my friend!
That looks like a nice little stove. I agree with not putting a mesh at the top, it's been designed like that for a reason and shouldn't be messed with. If you have to stir up sparks in the stove, put the chimney damper over a bit before you do it. Get a Carbon monoxide alarm though WW, just in case
Thats right Si,the spark arrestor shouldn't be altered, it will clog super fast otherwise. I shall have to get a CO2 alarm before I use it properly:) Signed WW
I've watched a few hot tent stove videos and to be honest they all seem to warp to some extent, I think it is normal, but so long as they go back together again it should be fine. Titanium stoves should outlast steel ones by a big margin
Great little stove Sandy! Can't wait to see you and in the new tent all set up enjoying yourself. one thought just came to mind? Ahh great sandy. Although I'll be hoping for lovely hot sunny weather come August/September 😄...ahh nice. Hope to see a video of your adventures with Dickie. Top bloke 👍
I absolutely love your video! As a result of watching this I purchased this stove last night. I’m curious if you have had a chance to use it yet in your hot tent?
I like the look of this stove, however having seen it on a few videos I’m a bit concerned with how the flue collar attaches to the lid of the stove as it looks very loose and flimsy. You can also see flame through the gap, as such there’s every chance of it leaking fumes. If I got it I think I’d have to make a more secure collar like on the Pomoly ones. 👍🏻
Yes the collar could be improved, but it doesn't leak fumes unless you close the chimney damper shut, and then mostly the fumes will come from the door
Gotta treat yourself sometimes. I noticed some tiny gaps round many of the rivets, hopefully they won't allow smoke into your tent. Amazing how small it packs up, perfect for you.
Hi Bry, Yes I saw them too but I think it will be OK. I couldn't see any smoke coming from them even with the dampers closed, and the stove does seem quite controllable. I'm looking forward to trying it out and having a warm camp and cooking on it:)
You probably could have bought a new camera lens for the price of the stovebut no lind will keep you warm in your tent. The stove is taking on a nice blue color like the pipes of a n old Triumph Bonney.
There are several options with higher prices but this is the cheapest: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08MXRYFKK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That stove is a Beautiful looking piece of kit 👍 i was camping this weekend in the lake district (very inclement weather but we had fun! ) with 2 other youtuber guys (John Pawson and Woza motorcycle adventures) we were all on Himalayans and could have done with a stove like that to dry off our bike gear lol, cant wait to see what tent fits that stove 👌 we would love to have a meet and ride out with you next year if possible, as me, john and woza are now 50's/60's yrs and more adventures the better on our Himmies 🤣
@@WiltshireMan Have fun on your trip, I hope the weather stays dry for you..ride safe and stay safe 👍😁
Hopefully meet you next year 😊
Looks a good stove Sandy, look forward to a field test and hope you have a comfortable hot tent experience 👍🏻
Hi Mark, I will have to bring it to Wales and try it in a proper Welsh winter:)
@@WiltshireMan Always welcome 👍🏻
expert chimney rolling, mine always end up with a kink haha
Hi Andy, I did it all on my own and it took just a couple of minutes. Here's a video showing how I did it: th-cam.com/video/7r_fAPH0zco/w-d-xo.html
Thankyou for this video mate just order it for Christmas
Did you order the smaller stove Dan? The one with the oven isn't so good unless you take the oven out, then it would be great. The smaller stove without oven is in mny opinion the better one
@@WiltshireMan I ordered the same as your one in this video mate
@@englishwoodsman If you watched the whole video Dan you will see that I use two stoves, a smaller one and a bigger one with the built in oven, the built in oven doesn't work very well, for smaller tents like the OneTigris Iron wall the smaller stove WITHOUT oven is the better stove, just the right size:)
@@englishwoodsman YES The same stove as in this video is the better stove and good value too, I've used mine quite a bit now, a little bit of warping but they all warp in time. Pomoly maybe a better stove but costs a lot more money
@@WiltshireMan I will watch the video again now ,
Neat little stove I like it very much similar to my Pomoly but cheaper at that, you will really enjoy this beauty!!😁✌💚
Thanks, just waiting for the tent to arrive then I shall be out:)
Looks a great stove hope it does as suppose to do, a mini sauna would be amazing to have. Packs away nicely
I like the design of this type of stove very much Myles as it all folds together so is easy to use when you have frozen hands
This type of stove is really only designed to work with lightweight chimneys. I have not had aany problems with mine sofar.
Cheers Dan, Luckily I hold the purse strings here:)
@@WiltshireMan Lucky you, we both hold them here.
Only thing that scares me about light weight stoves is warping, but it looks like a great stove. Look forward to a hot tent video in the future
I've watched a few hot tent stove videos and to be honest they all seem to warp to some extent, I think it is normal, but so long as they go back together again it should be fine. Titanium stoves should outlast steel ones by a big margin
Had mine two years and minimal warping on it. Been a nice stove
Great little stove Sandy! Can't wait to see you and in the new tent all set up enjoying yourself. one thought just came to mind? I know you probably mentioned the reason why but it escaped me, why don't you bring Carman on your camp outs like you did with Elsie? just curious. ok thanks for sharing. been chasing lots of Pota/sota guys having fun on cw. 73 Hp to gt u in th lg some time. de Ellis WA1RKS
Hi Ellis,
I may start to bring Carmen on a few Camps, we shall see, but she is a sight hound and have to be careful with game and wildlife. I shall be doing some winter CW from the hot tent. Stay tuned:)
What a little beauty, bag a pheasant and cook it up on your new stove in the woods, life can’t get much better than that.
Shhh don't tell the game keeper. The Pheasants are off limits for me Harold, thats sport for the wealthy guns. I'll make do with bacon and steak:)
Looks like a great bit of kit Sandy. Will you be bringing it to the Banky Barn camp next year? :) be great to see how you get on with it this winter 💪
Hi Chris,
If it's cold at Banky then I'll bring it along together with a hot tent:) Me and Dickie have just got back from Snowdonia, been there on the Himi's
Ahh great sandy. Although I'll be hoping for lovely hot sunny weather come August/September 😄...ahh nice. Hope to see a video of your adventures with Dickie. Top bloke 👍
Very good video bruv, from Oxfordshire Man 🤣😄
Hahaa from Wilkshire
@@WiltshireMan We must have a video meet up, Oxfordshire Man versus Wiltshire Man 🤣
I absolutely love your video! As a result of watching this I purchased this stove last night. I’m curious if you have had a chance to use it yet in your hot tent?
Yes I have since used it many times, great stove
I like the look of this stove, however having seen it on a few videos I’m a bit concerned with how the flue collar attaches to the lid of the stove as it looks very loose and flimsy. You can also see flame through the gap, as such there’s every chance of it leaking fumes. If I got it I think I’d have to make a more secure collar like on the Pomoly ones. 👍🏻
Yes the collar could be improved, but it doesn't leak fumes unless you close the chimney damper shut, and then mostly the fumes will come from the door
An expensive purchase Sandy but time will tell if you think it was worth it after you have used it combined with the new Tent, regards.
All these titanium stoves are expensive, there is no getting away from it. This was one of the cheaper ones
@@WiltshireMan I'm sure it will be amazing, probably too hot ha ha....bliss !!!
Thank you!
Your welcome
Looks a good stove, do you always guy the chimney?
Hi Tony Yes always guy the chimney
Are the rivets stainless Steel or aluminium
I would hope steel.
Think you’ll need that this week ….😳 Chuck it on chug !! 👍🏼
It's going to be a chilly one thats for sure. The hot tent for the stove hasn't arrived so I could be cold camping:) AKA Glumping
Oooo, Titanium , , they make paramotors out of that you know 🪂 will it fly ?😜
Only if I chuck it:)
Wiltshire Man 👍👍👍👍 😬
You probably could have bought a new camera lens for the price of the stovebut no lind will keep you warm in your tent.
The stove is taking on a nice blue color like the pipes of a n old Triumph Bonney.
whats the link on Amazon please
There are several options with higher prices but this is the cheapest:

Which tent do you intend to use this in?
I have a Polish poncho tent that I am currently modifying and a Onetigris Iron wall thats on its way
