That dinner you cooked looked absolutely delicious. I can see the thinking that's gone into the big stove. I do however think that perhaps the way to go would be the smaller stove with a Duch oven on top.
That's why it's a very good idea on the part of the manufacturer of the stoves, give people more than one option of a design and they can choose one that fits their preference and they will be happier. They both look like excellent stoves and either one of would likely fit the needs of most camping outdoorsmen. Thanks for showing them to us and giving your opinion Sandy. And thanks for letting go "hot tent" camping with you again. Take care and see you on the next one.
Pleased you were given the opportunity to review this stove, it was one I was considering and I did wonder about how well the oven section would work. I would really like to cook pizzas when camping but sadly I don’t think this is going to be the answer. The standard stove looks good and well made, went together very easily. Like the way the legs run full length rather than just on the two short sides.
A great idea having the oven on the side, I'm sure I would put it through its paces too Sandy but I think as you say it might be too big for the type of tents we use. Nice to have a choice of two and great to see that they are light enough to bring both out with you which is a massive plus point in either stove. Thanks pal.
Thanks Ant, I am loving the hot tent camping, it's just so nice to feel the warmth on a cold night in the woods. These lightweight stoves are the way to go
Top vid sandy, loved watching this it was so very relaxing and very interesting also to see you trial new equipment and test it’s durability. Looked very snug and warm which will be amazing once some snow gets on the ground 👍♥️ sending love to all the family stay safe and well 👍
I was after something to go on my Christmas list, Must be getting chilly if you are wearing your buffalo jacket. great to know that it will cook up a nice meal and water for a brew. Thanks for sharing
Hi Sandy. Looks to me like the oven needs raising up off the floor an inch, to allow for some heat to flow all around it. Probably a damper as well, to help direct the gases around. Back to the drawing board? Why not a box on top of the stove? Still, free toys are not to be sniffed at, and the company got some valid feedback. All the best.
I think they need to rethink the design a bit if they want to perfect it, but the oven did work, just needed a lot of fiddling and constant feeding the fire and turning the food in the oven
Hi Sandy!! First and formost, great camp and the meal you cooked up looks amazing!!😋 You’re very respectful and to your lands~Leave no trace!!👍 ,,, The two stoves are a great bit of kits, multiple uses on the each!! I have to agree with you that the smaller one is perfect for me-the dimensions are quite right, and it’s very compact for any size tent. But I guess it all depends on one’s out and about trip-both will work!! Very impressed, nice job bud!!👊
Thanks Amante, I'm looking forward to some cold weather camping now and I shall be nice and warm. I suppose over where you are the winter can be very cold. I wonder if you will be doing any hot tent camping?:)
Good un as usual Sandy.. Couple of Wiltshire's finest, as the smoky back bacon.. health option the Coconut oil. Noting past and present veggies, how did the allotment yield this year !! Remarkable what can be accomplished on the small stoves, then, nothin new under the sun.. This all works fine for one night, what if longer or 3-4 days moving on with a Moto camp.. I guess that's in your planning.. until then. Cheers.
I gave up the allotment a couple of years ago, got too much produce nicked!! as for the small stovbe, you can do a lot with it and in comfort inside a nice warm tent
I do quite like the idea of the integrated oven. Looks like there's a bit of a learning curve to getting the best out of it though. Still that dinner looked brilliant.
I got a screaming deal on the oven stove on ebay so i had to order it. From your video it looks like the oven works just takes a bit of playing around which is expected. I understand you like the smaller more but having ability to bake and also have larger wood storage was important to me. One of the coolest designs ive seen for a stove especially at almost half the price of some other brands. My only concern would be more smoke getting out back door when whole box is in use but i guess we will see!
Very good comparison Sandy, the stove looks great, Im sure the iron wall was toasty hot. Not convinced about that little oven though, . Ive already decided on a Pomolly stove but this looks like a good cheaper option. ATVB Colin
interesting stove, i've seen / used a few stove ovens and they all have their quirks, chimney ones get too hot, sit on top ones too cool, internal ones uneven.. its just getting used to their attributes really.. the roast dinner looked delicious though :)
Roast dinner was good Andy, you'll have to come over to Wiltshire for a camp but you'll have to bring a Pomoly with you, not many flat rocks here to cook your dinner on:) The oven on this stove worked but it took a lot of tending, I prefer the smaller stove of the two
Great video, excellent explanation on both stoves. Cheers for your review, it's shaped my opinion on the smaller of the two as a choice. With the door design, could I possibly ask if there's much leakage from any smoke? I can see the door doesn't have any sort of seal, same for where the chimney attaches to the stove. Cheers
Don't get any smoke leakage at all until you close the flu damper fully, then it does smoke a bit, I can close the damper down by 2/3 and its fine but any less and it will leak smoke. I think the later stoves also have a better flu connection
good video sandy , i think they should be able to put wood under the oven bit so it get warmer quicker and the temp go up more , but your like me i perf the smaller one for the size off the tent :)
Your dinner looked yummy :-) Don't think i would bother with the oven, It would be like a busman's holiday for me lol. I think I'll stick with my Mess tins and Hexi cooker. Don't like the idea of a fire in my tent. The best sleep i have ever had is in a poncho/ground sheet. But thank you for sharing, always like your VL's.
Hi Sandy, I would tend to agree with those who preferred the smaller, simpler stove. Do you think that the chimney would compromise the tent when it rains? Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the calls of the owls. Regards from S Africa Clive
Hi Clive, I've camped in heavy rain now and can report there is some rain ingress but as soon as it hits the pipe or runs down it just evaporates and inside remains dry, even with the stove cold not a lot of moisture gets in
Lovely Jubbly. Could you be so kind as to tell me what make of camp bed you used and is it comfortable? Thank you. It would be good to know where the smoke goes in relation to that Oven, over, under and whether or not there is a baffle plate in the top of the stove or not, I guess not due to weight. I think you need good seasoned hardwood and you need the damper in as much as possible without smoking yourself out. I think that with a little bit of fiddling, some aluminium foil etc, you'd get yourself a decent Pie or two out of that stove.
Hi Robert, the heat goes up over the top of the oven then up the pipe and yes a bit of damper keeps the heat in, as for the camp cot, it was just a real cheap thing, perhaps the cheapest one you could find, don't know the make though
May come down to trying different things with the oven stove bro, it's a good concept though. Sure made for a good video seeing which one you favour in your situation. Safe travels up your way

Nice one Sandy I think the smaller one is ideal for that set up I like the idea of having a oven compartment but it didn't seem to work very well but a nice stove I've just done my first hot tent camp this year my video is out on Sunday atvb jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Spot on Sandy. Is an oven really necessary? Your original stove seems far more suitable for purpose. Great job as always matey, and I always feel hungry at the end!!! TTFN.
Great to do a comparison of the two Sandy, I think your smaller one does the job just right . Think it would take me a while to roll the chimney tho lol atb Dave
Cheers Dave, I've ordered one of those cascade tables, waiting for it to be delivered. Rolling a chimney isn't too difficult, you'd manage it just fine:)
Agreed, the smaller looks more usable for smaller tents, although with a bigger tent, maybe the bigger would be better - and you can bake a cake 😁 Stay safe and healthy!
@@WiltshireMan that would be nice mate. In the process of selling a little bit of my crypto to buy some land and start producing a lot more food. Will hopefully be able to get it all to peolle at fair prices and good quality non GMO chemical free healthy veggies. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Got the smaller one.personaly always burn it at home first because of making a better and quicker roll of the chimney I used a 6ft tube same diameter and rolled it in that with all the rings on. Havnt seen anyone roll it up and re roll out after the burn.but it is quite easy to keep shape after initial burn.the small wood basket that comes with it is a wast of time.and the wire shelf I may keep but it's a bit gimmicky.alsaid it's a damn good stove.
PS..yes it does warp but keeps it's shape once put back together.you get what you pay for as some of the other brands have double thickness of titanium but are getting on for $1,000 +but much much better chimneys .
Another great video Sandy, the smaller stove seems to work very well. Have you thought about a small Dutch oven on the top for baking? the tent looks very nice, one Tigris are doing some good tents and things at the moment. Anyway take care and all the best to Mandy hope she is ok.
Hi Marc I have no issues or concerns using the inner with the stove but one thing I do which I may not have pointed out clearly, I only retire to the comfort of the sleeping bag once the stove has died down and the chimney is cooling down cos one thing you don't want is to be zipped up and unable to escape quickly should a fire break out.
When you used the oven, was the damper in or out? Maybe when the damper is out and therefore the flue fully open the heat may get away too fast and the oven stays cool.
Hi Sandy, I notice that the adapter where the flue joins the main body of the stove isn't a full join and there are gaps around the base of it. Some ti stove manufacturers have a flanged join for the flue to the stove - do you think that allows too much smoke and gases to escape the flue and into the tent? I ask out of curiosity, cheers, Paul
Maybe, even with the flange on other stoves smoke can still escape from the spindle that controls the damper as it's not smoke tight on those either. I think the adapter could be better though
Extremely disappointed that you didn't cook a soufflé, however, roast potatoes and enough meat for a family of four (in 2025) with gravy looked bloody delicious. All the very best to you and yours 👍 👍 👍 🍻
I have the woodswalker as well. I do prefer the "normal" size stove though by the looks it`s too big to carry around other than for car camping. What car camping is concerned, my first choice would be my Orland stove from Danmark. For those there are also an oven available which you can buy seperately but I`ve never really felt the need to use an oven in the field other than a dutch oven. Nice review though :-)
@@WiltshireMan I`ve used it once just for the burn in. But I also have a Winnerwell titanium stove which was an older model and a bit (from my opinion) more flimsy. I saw the woodswalker on Amazon and for the price I thought why not so I decided to buy it and hence the quality isn`t any different from the far more expensive Winnerwell.
Just a thought, but while there's a pan of water on top, the oven temperature may struggle go above boiling point. I notice that when the temperature read 160 degrees, there was no pan of water on top. Thanks for the video.
Didn’t see this til today. Great overall test and feedback- had my doubts on this one. You can get a separate oven that sets on top of any hot tent stove, which seems to be the best option I think. I really liked the looks and performance of the Russian Bear stoves, but after talking with the company they don’t do titanium. People - including myself are trying to move away from Chinese product, but tell me who is making all the Ti outdoor kit? China. ATB 😎
Cheers for the comparison video, my thoughts the oven looks to be a bit of novelty item & if you were not tent bound a Zebra billy Can oven (for the light weight option) would just as good if not better :) Would love to see another video of you clamping that chimney section together again as it now has had its first "memory burn" :)
@@WiltshireMan Thanks for the reply, I watched another youtube video channel (Lonewolf) after I made the comment, that stove had a similar flue and had been burnt in (memory). I was quite surprised how it sprung into chimney shape almost immediately & looked very quick to put the bands on to form the flue section. Cheers

Perhaps some insulation around the unheated sides would help but anyway a great honest review.
I'm sure that would make for a great improvement Steve
Got the smaller one.personaly always burn it at home first because of making a better and quicker roll of the chimney
I used a 6ft tube same diameter and rolled it in that with all the rings on.
Hi David, sofar the Woodswalker stove is doing great, as you say there are a few compromises though but it is quite a cheap stove for titanium
Hi sandy what’s that tent called? Couldn’t quite catch what you said.
Absolutely loving the videos, camping and bike touring very inspiring ⛺️🏍👍
Thanks Lee, the tent is a OneTigris Iron wall. A good tent in my opinion and not too expensive either
Another great video Sandy, the smaller stove seems to work very well. Have you thought about a small Dutch oven on the top for baking? the tent looks very nice, one Tigris are doing some good tents and things at the moment. Anyway take care and all the best to Mandy hope she is ok.
I'm amazed at the quality OneTigris are turning out now Paul, it's good kit. I have a dutch oven. When I camp with you next I'll bring the hot tent:)
Me and the wife just watched it on the TV , excellent !. She said youre a bit of a piggy eating all that lovely grub LOL.
Haaa, Yes it's being out in the woods I suppose, it works up an appetite:)
Hi good video one question what's your opinion on using the inner with the stove in use with the one tigris tent , live" long and prosper" mate
Hi Marc
I have no issues or concerns using the inner with the stove but one thing I do which I may not have pointed out clearly, I only retire to the comfort of the sleeping bag once the stove has died down and the chimney is cooling down cos one thing you don't want is to be zipped up and unable to escape quickly should a fire break out.
When you used the oven, was the damper in or out? Maybe when the damper is out and therefore the flue fully open the heat may get away too fast and the oven stays cool.
I tried all sorts of configurations, in the end with the damper closed it gave the best heat
Nice video Sandy as always mate, but it's looks like your doing it a bit tough in the old dart, will have to cobble up a food parcel for you mate 😁😁
Haa Food parcel sounds interesting:)
Wow! that's ingenious (:
spot on dude
Hi Sandy, I notice that the adapter where the flue joins the main body of the stove isn't a full join and there are gaps around the base of it. Some ti stove manufacturers have a flanged join for the flue to the stove - do you think that allows too much smoke and gases to escape the flue and into the tent? I ask out of curiosity, cheers, Paul
Maybe, even with the flange on other stoves smoke can still escape from the spindle that controls the damper as it's not smoke tight on those either. I think the adapter could be better though
@@WiltshireMan I think it's wise to err on the side of caution in any case. Many thanks. (PS - I have left you a message on your answering machine)
Extremely disappointed that you didn't cook a soufflé, however, roast potatoes and enough meat for a family of four (in 2025) with gravy looked bloody delicious.
All the very best to you and yours 👍 👍 👍 🍻
Haaaha, No need to cook a Soufflé, it would be quite hard in that oven:)
How long have you had your Woods Walker stove? I must admit I love my smaller stove
Quite possible the pan of water could have robbed a bit of heat
I think the thermometer must of been faulty? The temperature difference between the back and the front of the oven would not be that much.
Like the idea of the oven but I think you would have to be very attentive to get an even roast. Mind you that dinner looked 😋 👌
It was a lot of work to get good results from the oven Paul, it needed almost constant attention
@@WiltshireMan sounds like a woman lol 😆
Didn’t see this til today. Great overall test and feedback- had my doubts on this one. You can get a separate oven that sets on top of any hot tent stove, which seems to be the best option I think. I really liked the looks and performance of the Russian Bear stoves, but after talking with the company they don’t do titanium. People - including myself are trying to move away from Chinese product, but tell me who is making all the Ti outdoor kit? China.
ATB 😎
I think a simple oven on top would be much better than the arrangement in that stove
Sandy you are amazing 👌⭐️
Haaha glad you think so Fred:)
Back in the woods again then bruv. :)
Yes Bruv, you need to come and do a camp with me again
@@WiltshireMan I'll find a free day and we shall go out. 👍😉
Do they make a smaller version Sandy?
I don't think so, just these two sizes I believe
Cheers for the comparison video, my thoughts the oven looks to be a bit of novelty item & if you were not tent bound a Zebra billy Can oven (for the light weight option) would just as good if not better :) Would love to see another video of you clamping that chimney section together again as it now has had its first "memory burn" :)
Yes the Oven sure looked great but performance wasn't so great. No doubt you'll see how the chimney goes together in a nr future video:)
Cheers
All this and a bacon sarnie for breakfast. Life is good!
I need one of those for my house. The Japanese near bankrupt me every winter with kerosene and gas prices.
That Flu was the hardest part for me.
The bread burnt black ..how is it working..?
Could be better
I just ordered one of these based on your last demo..glad I got the one without the oven..cheers Wiltshire man
