Great video and review dude, that festive sarnie is on the cards for me today mate!! Looked amazing..enjoy Scotland and a merry Christmas to you both....stay safe! 🤘🍻
Good luck on your trip Ben, hope you and Tris have a great time and look forward to seeing the videos..! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both, Paul C 🙏🏻
Great choice of kit yet again, I've seen people put large rocks on their fires and stoves as thermal mass bit like a storage heater they say it keeps the tent warm long after the fire goes out, haven't tried it yet so can't say if it works, Merry Christmas to you and Trish.
Will be really interested to see how the long term test goes on the stove. I like fold flat and weight advantage over the frontier but maybe too many trade offs for truck camping
I think a heavy frontier style stove would be best for truck camping. This stove was great for a week long canoe trip but because the titanium is only 0.5mm thick it doesn't really hang on to the heat like a heavier stove would. I found that even with a good bed of coals in the titanium stove it didn't continue to put out the heat like the frontier stove does; maybe it would work better with oak or beech wood? I was using half seasoned hazel mostly so that might have played a part 😂👍
Nice one, we’ve just finished the trip. Ended up at loch Arkaig and then onto Glen Affric, near perfect conditions on the water, wind speeds didn’t get above 3mph all week! 👍
What model Winnerwell titanium stove is your stove? I can’t fine one with the stacking stove pipes. Appreciate any information you can offer. Enjoyed the video :)
Hi David, I'll post a link to the stove, it looks like it's out of stock at the moment though. www.winnerwell.co.uk/product/fastfold-plus-titanium-nested-pipe-m-sized-camping-stove/
Firstly, have a great trip to Scotland, I'm super jealous of that. Perhaps in 2022 I'll make it over there. As for the stove, great that it's Titanium as it could even be taken backpacking but that's a lot of money and looks a real pain to take apart at the end. Maybe with more uses it will all come together and last a few years, I'll watch with interest as I'd like to end up with one up at 12 monkeys. Happy Christmas to you and Tris and hope 2022 is a great one for you both.
We’ve just done 6 days with the stove so starting to get the hang of setting up and packing it away now. It would be useful up at 12 monkeys, speaking of which, I’ll be watching part 3 now that I’ve got a signal. All the best mate 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors That's good to hear. I'm sure it'll last a good few years. Part 3 is up and the final part is up ay 8pm my time tonight. Appreciate you watching and i look forward to seeing your Scottish trip video in the new year. Cheers, merry Christmas and have a great 2022!
Happy christmas ben & trish 🥃👌 looks a decent stove ben , I think most stoves have a bit of warpage in them , but still retain shape when fastened back together 👍 ps you don't want to leave it till it's dark with them killer pheasants about 😉🙌🍻👍
Cheers Martin. I’ve just finished 6 days canoe camping with the stove, the warpage has increased but like you say it sorts itself out once fastened. I stay away from the pheasants now 😂👍
Hello I have the rock fortress and now I have purchased the large version of this tent stove. My question is on your rock fortress did you install a silicone stove jack I am concidering this but not sure if I should. I spent 2 weeks in mine couple of winters ago. I plan a ride on motorbike across Europe. Cheers
Great review, I'll more than likely go with pomoly after that review, they also make fixed flu sections for there ti folding stoves and seem to have better reinforcements on all sides of there folding stoves and also a choice of glass viewing options..
Hi Ben, great video mate. you had me slavvering over your Crimbo sarnies! I have a suggestion for releasing the flue elements when you dismantle them. It's called CopperSlip, it's a light grease with copper in it and you put a light smear around the joints of the flu and they will release immediately. It is designed to be used for nuts and bolts that are torqued up tight and/or exposed to high temperatures and it works a treat. You can probably get it in Halfords or 1 of the big DIY stores. you don't need a huge amount as little goes a long way. Anyways thanks for another great video and heres wishing you and Triss a great Christmas and lets hope for a fabulous 2022! Enjoy your trip to Scotland.
Cheers Paul, I’ll definitely check out the CopperSlip. We’ve just finished the canoe trip and dismantling the flue was a right pain each time. All the best mate 👍
Great review Ben many thanks and in depth as always, I have been thinking of buying something similar as we have a, 18 year old ish, Coleman 6 man dome tipi style tent (if you can imagine that??) that is still in new condition and would make an ideal hot tent... so thank you again for the advice. Have a great xmas and new year mate atb Russ
@@Adventure-Outdoors If you’re right I would prefer the newer one because of the chimney on the old one seems like a pain. Maybe something is wrong on the website.
@@g.g.hochstetler2286 we’re dealing with different measurements, I’m pretty sure the nesting flue was 500g heavier than the older version. I’m lost when it comes to pounds and ounces so it’s worth checking out 👍
Great review. I'm thinking about doing some hot tenting and thinking about stoves. I don't like how the chimney sections stuck together, but I'm wondering if there is a remedy for that?
Could you be so kind and could you verify that the pan that you are using is the FinnRover frying pan? Can you also tell me which size it is? Nice stove BTW I'm thinking about buying one, I had the Nomad large in steel but this one seems way more convenient! Thx
Hi Johnny sorry for the late reply, the pan is a Finnish wilderness pan, I bought it from a bushcraft shop here in the UK but they've since stopped importing them. The stove is the medium size, it's really lightweight but the titanium doesn't hang on to the heat anywhere near as good as steel so you're always having to make sure the stove is well loaded, great stove though 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors Perfect thanks. Just ordered mine. Was so annoyed by the rolling chimney and that’s now perfect improvnent. Didn’t know they made one like that now finally! Thanks a lot for your review :)
@@weisswurstfruhstuck8523 No worries, it's a great stove. The only negative I found with the flu is that the sections can stick together when trying to disassemble. To solve this, apply a thin layer of high temp copper grease and this will sort the problem.
Hi , can you tell me how wide the widest flu section is please , I want to know if this will fit my stove jack which is 90mm wide although it will probably be the second or third section from the bottom that goes thru the jack ,I can’t seem to find this info online, I wrote winnerwell but they did not respond Thanks for any help mate
@@phils8393 Hi mate I've just measured the flu, the first section is about 8.8mm in diameter, the third section was 8.6mm, each section seems to be 1mm smaller than the last. I hope that helps.

all the best to you an trish too mate. thanks for shareing your adventurs and making me hungry with your cooking vids :)))
Great video, I also really love that large tarp you put up too. Can you tell me about it?
Cheers! The tarp is an old army parachute, it was suspended by a rope but sadly broke during a storm 👍
Looking forward to watching your canoe trip videos. Merry Christmas. G.

I have always stayed away from ti wood ovens as I don’t like idea of the roll chimney, this is definitely interesting to me .

I love the idea of the roll chimney. I can also see why you'd prefer rigid, telescoping chimney.

Cheers! I just cut it from some perforated steel, it was originally used in my Frontier stove but works really well in this one too 👍

Does the nested pipe pass in the older fastfold oven with rollable pipe?
I have no idea! Sorry.

The glass puts out lots of radiated heat but glass is a mistake when carrying things. Basic metal is more durable and lighter

A new competitor has entered the market - Whislux G1. Current titanium furnaces are too expensive.
I think I’ll pick up the older one on Amazon before it’s gone. This one is nearly 3lbs heavier(almost twice the weight) of the other model.
