I love LP, her voice is incredible, I highly recommend reacting to her cover if Beyonce’s Halo, a live performance that will blow your mind
This is not a cover! This is the original! LP wrote this song about a year before their partner broke up with them. We can understand this by the words, "just that you can cut me loose"... then ... "this can turn around." Many have covered LP's song. But, this is by far the best, and the reason it has over 1.3B views. I love LP, and everything about them. Their personality, their appearance, their whistle, their ability to play instruments, their voice ... OMGosh! Their voice!!! Thanks for your reaction to to LP. I look forward to many more.

Have you heard, yet, Rens rap version of the Verve "Bittersweet Symphony?" It's pretty amazing and fun. Ren used his own lyrics in his retake. Now you need to see her again, in that same venu, singing "Muddy Waters" a tear jerk-er. LP performs with huge bands on tours, she is amazing. Many wonderful song, she writes most of them. She also did a duet with the Mongolian metal band The HU. Mother Nature is the song.
This song was the first time I saw her and I was blown away. Spectacular! 😎
LP's cover of Halo is epic and changed my life, I've been addicted to LP ever since. I used to hate when people whistled, it was a huge pet peeve but the way LP does it in many songs is stunning and beautiful. Be sure to react to LP's cover of Halo that is in black and white in front of an audience, AMAZING!

Boudy, I was at your livestream when this song was discussed, and I am thrilled you reviewed it. I didn't know this song until Angelina Jordan did a partial cover on a tik tok video. Angelina, with her nearly 200 versions, reimaginations, completions, has led me to many songs I missed over the years. I don't think we will get too many more, as she has written over 100 songs and we have only been blessed with 12 to date. Here is the list.

Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes.

I fell into the deep end of ALL things LP when I first saw this in 2018. I’ve seen them live 4 times and every time has blown me away.

Question for you. You mentioned how good the production was on this and how good it sounded for a live performance. How it was kind of what you see is what you get. How it isn't overly produced and doesn't have a lot of effects on top of it. I have heard lots of people talk about the Wacken 2013 show by Nightwish. How well it was done and how good everything sounds and how amazed people are that it was live. That was a huge production, I imagine. Are there differences in what can be done with a large production like that, even though it's live, compared to what can be done with a smaller production like this? Which was absolutely wonderful, by the way.
Ouffff Absolutely! Fantastic question. Live concerts + open stages are so much harder to record because the environment can't be controlled. Everything from crowd cheering to even the humidity in the air can affect the audio you're capturing. In a closed room you're so much more in control of your environment and naturally the furniture in the room, the carpets etc... all lend themselves to making the acoustics of the room more pleasing (by lessening reverberation). It's A LOT harder to capture great audio in open environments air Vs closed rooms. Also the more instruments/Singers (i.e. inputs) the more pre-production have to worry about, and the more post-production have to worry about when they're mixing. When you're recording, every microphone/instrument is usually recorded separately, while you're recording you're creating a 'pre-mix to' capture the desired sound of every channel(instrument/mic). After that is done you have to now mix all these different tracks together, engineered with a desired outcome in mind, and output one singular file. If Pre have done their work right, Post have an easier time mixing. What you can do in Post has infinite potential. The best shows on earth (imo) are the ones that are able to carry on the 'spirit' of the live performance with the right pre-mix and then have the post-mix engineer extend/amplify/optimize that in the final production.
