I saw her live once in a small venue. That tiny lady blew the roof off with her powerful voice. Give her song Tokyo Sunrise or Muddy Waters a listen. Her cover of Halo is amazing as well.
Muddy waters is one of my very favorites. But there are quite a few amazing songs she has & too few know of her, at least in the US.

I hear Stevie Nicks I hear Gwen Stefani I hear a Bob Dylan kind of monotone even though She has this full vocal range and She does a lot of Amazing runs She reminds me of a Bob Dylan Style with that hair.... And it's kind of like a whiny voice like his..... I just heard her for the first time last week coming through my feed and I can't believe that's the first time I've heard of her and I'm just listening to All her music all day long I just love it and this song I play it Over And Over Again I just Can't Get Enough of Her vibrato it's addicting❤
Never watched your channel prior to this but I love watching people react to this incredible talent!
This song is literally my current relationship and I was introduced to this song by that person.
I'm 65 and have listened to about zero music most of my life. My radio was always tuned to NPR, or I was listening to material related to my profession as a defense information specialist.
Only time I listened to music was when I was dancing; from my club days in the '80s to present.
Only when I entered into this doomed relationship did I again start listening to music, because that's all she does.
And I started dancing, again, but mostly to salsa/native music because, as most of the incredibly beautiful females on the planet are native, she is.
LP is a unique talent. I'm an old jarhead, combat veteran who's seen it all and is a 'hardened' soul; but first time I heard this I was balling like a baby.
LP has helped me start to listen to music-and most of it is hers.
Okay, well, and a bunch of Rammstein and Type O Negative. :D
If you're looking for suggestions and haven't already-Peter Steele and Type O Negative. I would recommend "Black No. 1" as your first, then "Christian Woman." Great video!

Thank you for your beautiful reaction, please call her LP, she prefers that (in many interviews) and all friends, her family, her girlfriend and we, a million of fans, we all call her LP because she decided to be called LP.
I'm 70+ in my life I've never loved any artist as much as I love and respect LP, she is totally amazing, unique, unrepeatable, honest and true to herself in everything & full of love for everyone. LP is a great human & artist ❤️👑❤️

she’s my #1! and just to clarify, she prefers to be called just LP! and her mom was an opera singer, her father was a lawyer. she’s been my favorite for almost three years now! definitely recommend all of her stuff, she’s incredible
I am NOT a singer, by no stretch of the imagination. However, I am a huge LP fan. That’s how I came across your video. This is one of my fave songs of hers (and yes, she is & says she is a she. Though many are confused when they first see her. Understandably.) Her voice is stunning, and is a gift from “above” to us all. Also, you have a similar dog to hers, named Orsen. Cool. Thank you for highlighting her in your video. She deserves so much more recognition than she’s gotten in the last 5+ yrs as a singer, instead of a song writer in the background.

My favorite LP song is Switchblade, which you could hear live at the McKittrick Hotel, but almost any of her songs are fantastic.
It's so hard to choose a favorite, but I think Switchblade is mine too.

I've said it before and I'll say it until I die: it is practically criminally offensive that LP isn't more popular in North America. She is an incredible talent in her ability to effortlessly sing, and in her ability to compose beautiful and catch music. She has been signed and dropped by like 3 American labels because she doesn't have the "right" look or whatever. They cannot say that it's because she isn't talented, because that's a flat out lie. Love you, Laura! (just in case she happens by 😉)

Whomever mentioned "Halo" was recommending that you should listen to Laura sing it. She didn't write it, but her version is AMAZING. Beyoncé's version is good, don't get me wrong. But Laura and her band add such a level of energy and intensity to "Halo", it makes my heart want to burst with joy. It's seriously fantastic.

Her mother was an opera singer. Her father, surgeon I think. She carved her own niche, completely new direction. She has dozens of terrific songs she's written, lots of great videos.
