- SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn discusses Diane Abbott's ban from standing as a Labour candidate, SNP campaign funding, Michael Matheson's suspension and the Nicola Sturgeon investigation.
Speaking about the upcoming election, Mr Flynn says 'I'm looking to retain every single seat that we have' and he is confident that 'people will continue to put their trust in the Scottish National Party'.

IF the SNP have the single item on their manifest, and that is independence ..... even if they win by 1 vote with a low voter turn out, it is still game over for the UK. As opposed to Westminster dictating 'certain % voter turnout + a certain winning margin'. Now only 1 vote will do it. Having said that, the SNP are short on detail as to how they will take control of the police, armed forces and media.
@@perro0076 AND a compelling vision of what Scotland can be and how to get there. What currency would be used, who would be the 'bank of last resort'. Nor is there clarity for other costly matters such as borders with the RUK, export tariffs, fisheries protection vessels, *real* embassies, a passport office, a DVLC office, GCHQ equivalent, etc etc .The list is endless because after 17 years in power, NOTHING has been done but they need to be costed and scheduled into any Independence plan.
@blackislepeas 100% agree. I think the currency thing is not as important as we think. Why can't they carry on using the pound? 27 countries use the euro, and none of them care to have control of it. Similar for the US dollar. The pound is a 'reserve' currency, so the BoE wouldn't muck about with it JUST to screw Scotland. The others I'm on board, but not knowing would not prevent me from voting for independence, and a lot of stuff like water, electricity and oil would become England's problem as now they would have to pay for it.

@davidpaterson1435 eeeehhhh Holyrood elections have not taken place yet. So that single item of independence on the ballot could still happen, but I must admit, the new guy could be keeping his cards close to his chest, or has already been bought by English gold.
