    Thank you for these videos. I have a different machine, sew & emb, it's new and I'm finishing up the quilts I was making when my other 2 machines died. I've been using the sewing side but can't wait to try embroidery.
    Your videos are great, esp that you answer questions. I'm making a collection of all your recommendation so I know the supplies needed and which brands to use or try. You are a real blessing to us, especially us older folks who don't have another 50 years to figure it all out & make a good job of it.😁

    Thank you for this video. I was doing my ' first embroidery' gorgeous towel for my Italian girlfriend of 60 years. Well and behold I ran out of bobbin in the middle of writing a long sentence.
    The problem was I 'dropped the new bobbin in' a you said and not remembering the correct way to do this.. and my tension was all off..oh no..well I figured it out and because I kept the stitch was able to go back over about 5 letters.
    I realized I could not just Drop the bobbin in. I noticed and had forgotten there is a little pattern loop you do with bobbin thread and then cut it off. Whewww it all worked out.

    Helpful tip - I use a clear plastic tray about 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide and 12 inches long to put my spools of thread in so they stay in order and I won't grab the wrong color. If you use one color twice in stitch out I use a empty spool marked with color as place holder. (That happen once, reason for tray) lol

    A quick tip is to soak the towel in very warm (not hot) water for about twenty minutes. Then use a "fingernail" brush or a toothbrush to brush away the soggy paper. After it dries, just dust it up with a cool iron.

    Hello ! I so appreciate your videos. I have had a 6 needle for about 6 years but just recently purchased the se1900 for use in my small rv. Your explanations are great. I am learning so much about the machine from you. I have done towels on my six needle. Instead of using the sticky stabilizer i prefer using a temporary adhesive spray like 505 on tearaway. It is also an option. I also use the baste option that stitches around the design area first so the fabric doesn't move.

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Miss. I do this also. I'm starting to think that maybe using the tear away instead of the sticky stabilizer can be a cheaper option to use. Sticky Stabilizer can be pricey and getting a pack of tear away stabilizer is much easier. I use Sulky KK 2000. I need to get a bottle of 505 and try it. I heard some folks complain about some adhesive brands gumming up their needles. KK2000 can be pricey too.

    • @missmel6528
      @missmel6528 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoricuaSewingCrafts I have used 505 for years, amazon sells a large spray can for a bit of better price. I lightly and I mean lightly spray the tear a way (not the towel) if space on the hoop is available I spray around the embroidery area. and I always use the basting option on the 6 needle machine so the fabric doesn't move. Honestly I haven't used the 1900 embroidery option yet so I don't know if the basting option is available on it. I am hoping so. too busy getting Christmas gifts done. Yes I am a procrastinator :) Happy Holidays

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sherry, If the thread is bunching up at the bottom that means the thread is installed correctly on the top. Needle breaks happen for various reasons. The needle can be bent or old, not installed correctly or you might be using the wrong needle for the material you are using. Here is a link to the needles I use to embroider: amzn.to/3TJKGrq

      Hi GCPellerin. Sometimes when I embroider towels, I use the same color of thread for the bobbin. It really doesn't matter much how it looks on the other side then I will just use white or the same color as the towel. I always use the 75/11 size needle unless I am embroidering on a thin fabric, then I use a 66/9 needle.

The walmart hats are a lot thinner. I have been doing pot holders and kitchen mits. I have been using 16 for those too. Maybe I am using too big a needle.
