I really thought that Burn-Out and Drive Guage would become largely irrelevant at high level play because pros would just manage it so well. But you need to be so offensive that they spend half the match in burn-out
It's not just that, but there's plenty of ways for you to deplete your opponent's Drive Gauge on top of them needing to use it themselves.
@@WiqidBritt Yeah absolutely. I didn't even realize how much of an effect you have on your opponent's drive gauge before this tournament. I don't know how the hell the devs thought this far.
burnout is by far my favorite mechanic in this game, I like the idea of trading damage in exchange for getting a drive gauge advantage, I wonder if the meta will have more drive impacts in combos to put them in burnout instead of going for drive rush scaling combos

In case anyone else hasn’t heard: Not only does Guile’s EX dp only hit once on crouch, but it also has a weak hit and strong hit. Punk was JUST outside the strong hit so it didn’t get the chip kill
so crouch AND the spacing mattered there? meaning if he was closer and crouching he would have been hit by the "strong" hit?

I know the "best controller" debate is already set and done, but I do encourage people to BUILD A STICK YOURSELF, finding all the parts, designing the front cover and such, it's such a magical experience (and it's super easy nowadays, and cheap too!), creating a bound between you and your weapon, truly wonderful.

By no means is Manon bad, but I do think she is a bit overrated right now. I get the feeling that a lot of pros playing her now will drop her for another character sooner or later.
33:10, it's not about using pad, it's about the ps5 one specifically. That dpad is just straight up dogshit, that's why people are surprised that so many top players use it

People saying Blanka is Broken while Half top 8 were Juri players. The issue with Blanka is that nobody plays him, having the match up against him is very hard and even more on these early stages of the game. Juri is an easy top 3 character in this game, but everyone plays her, so Mena had the upper hand on the MU. He displayed an enormous amount of skill and flexibility on his gameplay, amazing player overall.
P.D. I Don't even play Blanka, no one does, lmao.
for real, people couldn't even punish his EX up ball correctly half the time. Blanka just ends up getting air reset or knocked down in places where people cant quite get their meaties and its so easy fro the blanka player to jump back EX ball and start pressure.
@@Hawko1313 Then again that's the lack of MU knowledge and the Mental Stack he puts on you, there's a lot to watch out for. Blanka Ball, Air Blanka Ball, command grab, rainbow ball. It's a lot take in mind, but it's mostly due to nobody plays him, it's very hard to come up with a gameplay against something you bearly see on the flight, yet, most Blanka balls were punished with DP. Give it time, and people will learn how to punish accordingly. Again, way yo early to judge an obscure character such as Blanka.
basically Mena won with a Gimmick, once you lab is pretty easy to counter that blanka ball but no one did lab against Blanka

Nah, it was actually easy to predict. Only one who could stop Mena was Caba's Guile. But Punk cleaned the path to victory for Mena and actually did the dirty job for him.

Dude Mena is like the one guy I don't respect play wise. He's a good dude. Ive followed the journey the man took for the people more than himself. I just don't like how he plays. He went 2-0 with Blanka, and soon as he loses a round he switches to Luke. Everybody knows Luke mains don't play Luke. Luke plays THEM. Lukes just a brain dead better version of all shotos. He always played OP Luke in sf5 like 98 percent of his lifespan.
