I was planning on little to no mangoes in 2023. According to Professor Dr Zill I won’t get any in 2023 and 2024. OK with me but it will disappoint a lot of friends neighbors and relatives. I visit Walter for the last 4 summers I have my Dupois Saigon and a couple of my Edgar seedlings growing in my backyard here in Arizona from fruit bought from Walter...he is a gold mine of info...always look forward to my yearly Florida visit with Walter and Verna...good folks Thanks for the video
Not so on the freezing in my estimation. But you have to eat them frozen and they must be vacuum sealed. I eat them right out of the bag like a popsicle.
Same here with the wind problems, lost a lot of them due to winds this year… Also we got 2 crops 1 that started in December and 1 that started in February due the cold snaps we got in November and January (Cold meaning 50 degrees Fahrenheit in South Florida, lol)
7:51 love those low hanging branches. Perfect for "approach grafting" to seedlings. Just set seedling pot on the ground next to branch wanting to graft too. 25:41 the authenticity - dirt under the fingernails... luv this guy... a real deal gardener! (Emma, Audrey, Wells, Donald... need to see dirt under your nails too! Haha)
all those fallen mangos that are not ripe are eaten by my wife with chilli and shrimp paste, no problem 😂😂 although I wonder which non-asian varieties are also good for eating in their firm green or unripe stage. because i can imagine that some unripe mangos might actually be bitter. thank you for this video
