    I have just bought one at a good price. However the HP Zbook 15u G5 Mobile Workstation maintenance / service guide on the HP site doesn't seem to be for this newer version. Has anyone got a link to the newer guide?

    I thinking to get this 15u g5 or an older 14u g4 model. I like the new design but im afraid the older model perform better. (Thoughs uppon reviews) What u guys think? Or any alternatives in this price range? I like more the 14" display and the 100% sRGB is a keyword also.

    I just invested in a zbook x360 studio...a mouthful for a name...and I mostly enjoy (if not simply because it's an upgrade from my previous system). It's got software issues out-of-the-box, but I think I'm getting close to solving them.

      Excellent. Let me know what the ZBook x360 studio is like? Should be publishing the ZBook 15v review soon then looking to get hold of the ZBook x360 Studio - YL

    I bought a HP ZBook 14u G5 almost as soon as it was available from HP. I loved the build quality, keyboard, screen, and i/o ports. I also liked that it had a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port as well as the HP Slimdock connector. I believe that the new ZBooks are better for professional users as compared to Apple’s MBP line solely based upon hardware. I’ve been a Mac OS guy for a while, though, and I’ve experienced some difficulty going from Mac to Windows (missing some of the Mac features). I ended up returning my ZBook and got a iPad Pro for now. When I do get another laptop, though, I’ve got my eye on the ZBook Studio G5 - I think that the Studio model has much better thermals than the 14u and 15u.

    It does not have CUDA acceleration for Premiere Pro though,. The Quadro P1000 is not the p2000 listed. However the processor seems quite powerful. Can you game on the P1000 as with an Nvidia 1050?

    • @tsukasakurai

      Juan Andrés yes you can game on it, but for a good experience (mid-high fps) you should focus on older games or games that don’t demand too much

      The ZBook 15u uses the Intel U CPU's which are lower performers (Fanless, better battery life) than the ZBook 15v Intel H CPU's. (Better 6 core CPU) 15v is aimed at startups, cost-conscious buyers whereas the 15u are going for the slim and lightweight crowd. Look out for my review soon on the ZBook 15v - YL

      @Amit Pandey Watch my recent review on the HP EliteBook 1050 G1 with the i7-8850H. No problems with the thermals on the i7-8850H. Happily run Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. The i7-8850H is a beast of a CPU. Loved it. Warm heat coming out from the vents but virtually quiet majority of the time. The chassis was not hot even when taxed. The ZBook 15v review will be coming out soon in the next few weeks when we get our hands on a review model. The ZBook range is built like tanks! MIL-STD-810G grade, so heavy duty. - YL

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ZBook 15v seems to be a cheaper 1050 G1. Although graphics on the ZBook is certified compared to the Nvidia chip on the 1050 G1. Can't wait to test drive the 15v soon - YL

    It's a pity it is so noisy, otherwise I would buy it. I can't stand loud fans when I work, and want to concentrate.

    • @juraj_b
      @juraj_b 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can adjust the power settings and drop down max CPU to about 98% and even though it'll get throttled, the fan noise will significantly lessen

      robin jonker It uses a low consumption power Processor ended with the letter "U" any processor ends with that letter means it has what they call in Intel "An Ultrabook processor" same used on the Surface book 2. Manufacturers use it in order to have a longer battery life.

    I bought this laptop a few weeks ago, but i cant really do any editing on it because the video playback is chobby and laggy on davinci resolve 15 (even with optimized media) and premiere.
    I have tried a bunch of different drivers on the amd gpu and other components that can cause it but no effect on the laggyness, could it be that the amd gpu is just broken, or does somebody know what i could do to fix this?

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't have any issues using this with Adobe Premiere Pro, editing and rendering a 1080P video. Are the video clips locally saved or on a network NAS? If on the network, could it be the Wi-Fi? Do you have the mains plugged in when editing or are you on battery only?

    • @vilkkaa1236
      @vilkkaa1236 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Dovecomputers I have just tested the playback on premiere but I mainly use resolve so I dont really know much about premiere. But anyway I have it on eithernet and on resolve the playback files are stored locally.
      The video also lags on games what i tested. Its wery weird because the fps is way above 60 and it is still chobby (it looks like it has like 10fps or something but the fps indicator says its 80 or above).

    • @Omariau
      @Omariau 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are not all slim. This is the zbook mobile version hence the focus on slim and portability, the normal zbook G5 contains six core cpus and is heavy.
