I just did this to my 2004 Kia Sedona. It totally worked. You can use a small paperclip as a jumper pin. Bend the paperclip into a horseshoe shape. Crimp each end of the of the clip (bending each end over) so they each make a small U. This will ensure better contact with pins 5 and 17. Follow the instructions in this video from there. Hey drummer468 and keyless entry remote team...I just used your instructions to program the keyless entry on the 2004 Kia Sedona that I just purchased for my wife. However, my need was a little different. I needed a second fob for me. After the new fob was programmed and tested successfully, the original one stopped working. I did the instructions and reprogrammed the old one and the new one stopped working. Could you provide your eager listeners with instructions on how to program a second fob? This would be much appreciated!!
Answering my old question here. 1. Go to website listed. 2. Read instructions there. I realized that if you click one time for each fob (programmed one going first), you now have two fobs programmed! Thanks again for saving me some $ as well!!
Thanks for your reply. I figured as much. I have had remote failure since the car was new. It probably should have been covered under warranty or recall. Had the receiver changed a year or so ago. Remote would last 6 mos to a year before failure. Failed a little more than a year after receiver change although one of the remotes fail much sooner than other but was waiting for both to fail before reprogramming. Last failure was two weeks after. One still works. I usually take it to the dealer who hasn't been charging me lately.
Hi, below are directions for the 2004 Sonata. Hyundai Sonata 2004 Key Fob Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. 1. Remove center fascia (the plate surrounding the radio) and locate the alarm system control module. Ensure that the memory switch is in the OFF position. 2. Insert key into the ignition and turn ignition to the ON position. 3. After 5 seconds slide the switch on the alarm system control module to the SET position. 4. Press the LOCK button on the first remote to be programmed. 5. If programming a second remote press the LOCK button on the second remote. 6. Slide the switch on the alarm system control module to the OFF position. 7. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key. Replace center fascia. 8. Programming is now complete, test remotes to ensure proper programming.
I'm not clear on what you are trying to ask. Here are the directions that you need to follow, you don't need to do anything else. 1. Use a jumper wire and connect between terminals 5 and 17 of the 20 pin diagnostic connector, located in the engine compartment close to the battery. 2. Switch ignition ON. 3. PRESS the LOCK button on the first remote transmitter to be programmed 2 times. 4. Switch ignition OFF and REMOVE key. 5. REMOVE jumper wire. 6. Check all remote transmitters for correct operation.

Hi can you show us how to program the home link garage door program on a 2003 Kia Sedona?
I will let our video team know you are looking for a video for this. In the meantime here are the instructions on how to program the home link garage door for your #Kia #Sedona Start by pressing the whichever HomeLink button you would like to designate for the garage door while also pressing down on the garage door opener button. As you are doing this the HomeLink light should flash, and then begin to flash rapidly. You can then release both buttons.
After this, there will be two ways to proceed. Either you will press the designated HomeLink button for the garage door and the programming will be complete, as indicated by the light remaining solid. Second, if you push the button and the light blinks rapidly for two seconds, you still have a couple more steps to complete.Read More Kia UVO Infotainment System
You must then go into your garage and, after finding a ladder, press the “learn” or “smart” button that is located on your garage doors motor. You must then go back into the vehicle and push the designated garage door HomeLink button within thirty seconds. Push the button for two seconds and then release it. Repeat these steps as necessary until the garage door activates.

I'm trying to do the same thing with my 2004 Kia Sorento, and it's not working. Kia forums and TH-cam tutorials are telling me that I have to bridge terminal 6 to the POS battery post instead to the mentioned procedure in your video, but it's not working for me.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.
I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Are you sure you have the keyless entry option on your vehicle?
Yes, I have the original remote the came with the vehicle. It worked before, and that was YEARS back. Now that the vehicle got passed down to me, the remote doesn't function at all. I think there may be something else wrong, it's weird.
Charles Almero Hello Mr. Almero. I own the same vehicle handed down to me with the same issue. I replaced the battery first and nothing worked. Did you manage to resolve your keyless remote issue jumping certain pins? I'm not a wizard when it comes to working electrically under the hood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Pschonback1@gmail.com. Pschonback1@aol.com.
Unfortunately, I haven't resolved this issue. I gave up =(
Hopefully you found a solution. In the numerous forums and video tutorials I've found, the procedure in this video applies to the 2004 Kia Sorento. But instead of bridging or "jumping" pins 5 & 17, you want to do it for pins 5 & 6 for the 04 Sorento. I've tried this method, and it hasn't worked for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, or maybe there's some other issue.

I called kia and confirmed it. And asked what I need to do to add FACTORY keyless entry and the said it's not possible because it doesn't have the harness for the module. And that was a lie because I found the harness behind clove compartment and I purchased a remote and module separate on ebay and installed it. And tried multiple different programming instructions I found online using the diagnostic port under hood. What I am asking is. I have an 05. And want to add FACTORY keyless entry.
The wiring is there. I did the same cheap with my fog lights. Didn't come with them but bought them and the button and it was plug and play. What am I doing wrong? Does the key fob have module have to match or something. Please help....
