***** It's quite the irony that you claim that scientists have "no answers" as to how the universe operates and the origin of life and yet you insist that a god (YOUR god, of course) magically spawned the universe and complex life forms for the entertainment value of it. Science has mostly explained the phenomenon of life and how it originated. Here's some information on the natural chemical evolution that got evolution started:
      people.chem.duke.edu/~jds/cruise_chem/Exobiology/miller.html
Here you will find what science now knows about the evolution of life from the simple beginnings to the variety of life we observe today:
      evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/evo_47
Do yourself a favor and discard the absurdities of Islam or any other religious creation mythologies and drag yourself kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Or you can choose to keep yourself in your dismal alternate "reality" of a crude and barbaric 7th century religion.

***** Do you have any knowledge whatsoever of evolution or cosmology or does all your "knowledge" come from the Quran?

    • @DustinZilbauer35
      @DustinZilbauer35 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

***** Also, do you believe the entire Quran is the literal word of Allah and that it is the guide to absolute morality?

***** *That's very interesting rhetoric on your part, but you didn't answer my question about evolution. Evolution is accepted as fact by virtually every scientist in the modern world (which probably doesn't include "scientists" in third-world shitholes like most Islamic societies as a result of the stranglehold Quranic indoctrination has there). It has replaced "intelligent design" as the explanation for the complexity of life and, happily, ID has been kicked out of the classrooms in the vast majority of schools in favor of teaching people about our REAL origins. There are certainly unanswered questions about the cosmos, but science is learning more all the time and many questions will probably be answered eventually. That said, barbaric monstrosities like the god of Islam (and the biblical god) are an affront to reason and civilization and best left to the annals of barbaric mythologies that the world can well do without.*

"Many new questions in regard to almost every principle mentioned by Darwin have arisen. For example, it is asked whether the appearance of a new organ or for that matter any other organic change, always results from the use of that organ and the attempt to adapt it to one's environment or it may be due to mutation or any other cause?"
*Appearance of a new ORGAN? You mean a new organ should somehow appear within humans or some other species that we can observe? It doesn't work that way. Evolution of sight, for example, began with simple photo-receptive cells. There have been evolutionary revisions to the structure of the eye through selective pressure over MILLIONS of years. Educate yourself about it here:*
      en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_of_the_eye
"The organic changes, whatever may be their cause, are always aimed at survival and evolution or sometimes they may be due to the inconsistency with the environmental conditions and may culminate in death and extinction?"
*Evolution by natural selection is all about survival long enough to reproduce and pass genetic information along to offspring. If it aids survival, it is naturally selected and tends to propagate among the gene pool of a given population. If not, it is selected out and that genetic lineage goes no further. Variations in environmental conditions, sexual selection, geographic changes, etcetera can change over time, all of which can direct the evolutionary adaptations of a species.*
"Natural selection is or is not like artificial selection which leads the existing generation to evolution?"
*Artificial selection is a very good analog of natural selection in that it can produce lots of variation among breeds within a species and this is an example of evolution within a species. Speciation is generally a very long term event and requires a species with a rapid generational turnover to be observed.*
      *Read more about speciation here:*

As far as the video. I can tell he truly believes what he says he does. He is passionate about it and even has points he is able to backup. Thank you. I was lucky to have been raised by parents that taught kindness. I recall a saying about passing judgement. "There but by the grace of God go I." Meaning we have no right to pass judgement because we are no better than others in Gods eyes. We believe every human is a child of God.
We are called by our God to share the story of salvation but there is a right time and place. We are also called to defend our beliefs and ourselves. But that doesn't mean we are supposed to attack people. Yet many do. And I can certainly understand why many non-believers feel the way they do about Christians.
When Christians shout that someone is going to burn in Hell it makes me sick. In our beliefs only God can decide what happens to someones soul. It shouldn't be used as a scare tactic. I honestly suspect God doesn't like it. No one comes to God through force.

Why should I respect someone who kills millions of chinese Mao. Or why should I respect someone who can slaughter their fellow fleshy moist robots without question. Atheism has no moral objection to evil you dont get to play atheism has morality as nothing has any meaning, You steal that from religion, in atheism all those things you said are not wrong or right they just happen. I can murder and rape anyone I want and there is nothing to hold me to for being right or wrong in doing so
Only your subjective belief that what i did is wrong. If i want to murder rape beat someone torture someone. Well you have nothing which you can object to my behavior with. I'm simple a hedonistic nihilistic fleshy moist robot seeking maximum pleasure for my life.
Your subjective morality is just that subjective and meaningless to me. As I simply reject it out of hand and do whatever I want when I want to whoever I want. I only need the strength and power to do it to you. And its not wrong anything I would do to you. Its just me doing what I WANT

Frederic Mercier The ones who are courageous are the ones who search and find their own meaning in life without having to have it dictated to them on a platter. That is a truly frightening prospect, and takes effort and guts to undertake, but is the path that is most rewarding and leads to true truth.

    • @rekunta
      @rekunta 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Frederic Mercier Sure your faith is your choice, but it's a choice to be dictated to. Your faith dictates to you what you believe after you choose to believe it.
As for what is truly truth, nor does religion tell you what is true. You have faith it's true, as do I from my own experience and growth. And frankly, I cannot respect (much less worship) any deity that would demand and reward sheer belief over a creature of its own creation questioning and taking a lifelong journey in pursuit of knowledge pertaining to the the reality of its own existence. If I am to be judged when I pass on for thinking for myself, then so be it. It is a truly sick world if I'm to be condemned for such.
If you and many others wish to look for those answers in faith, so be it, but I don't find that respectable in any respect, I'm sorry. I find it quite pitiable. We deserve to be free of fear to be able explore and relish living. Religion and faith precludes that in favor of strict adherence to dogmatism. As the saying goes, "Philosophy deals with questions that may never be answered. Religion deals with answers that may never be questioned".
That, right there, is the gist of my problem with faith and the "deals with questions that may never be answered" part is why it's so scary.....but is also precisely why it is so liberating at the same time.

This all dawned on me 60+ years ago as a young seminarian; the full impact did not happen overnight but the initial gut feeling started then, while training to be an R.C. priest.
Actually, even as a small boy, I never really believed in it.
Around the age of 6/7/8 you gradually realise that there is no Father Xmas and no Tooth-Fairy either but your Catholicism sticks with you even though you do not see, in your child's mind, why your religion is valid still. After all, there is your headmistress, a nun at school and then at grammar school, there is the headmaster, with grey hair and a kindly smile - an Irish Christian Brother. There is the parish priest who you serve Mass for, Sunday after Sunday - all believers, or so it would seem. So hang on in there, Keith, and do as they say and pray for the GIFT of FAITH, like they say you should do.... and everything will turn out right.
EXCEPT that ermmmmmm NOPE......everything did not turn out right, at least vis-a-vis any vindication of faith.
I left the seminary at 18 and slowly, very slowly it all fell into place.
The weekend I left was the first step; i did not go to mass - a huge step for a hitherto observant Catholic schoolboy. From that day on, I grew ever bolder and eventually dismissed all the b.s. that we had had thrust down our throats by our teachers, the nuns and the Irish Christian Brothers who were many things, dear old fellows BUT Christian.
I thought it was just me that thought like that; just me that had apostasised. But NO...!
Roll on a few decades, the 60's 70's 80's 90'sand the noughties.... and what have we now...?
    THE INTERNET....!
We have the Internet and contact with other, like-mindeds such as this sooooo articulate Mr. Condell...!
    Isolation over.
    Great.................................!
    And THANK-YOU Pat.................!

“If you’re a believer, your faith allows you to adopt a set of beliefs that make absolutely no sense, knowing that you won’t be measured by whether they make sense, but by the level of _piety_ that you exhibit in believing them. In other words, your willingness to deny reality becomes a measure of your virtue. No wonder religion is so popular.

But what a price you pay for this virtue? You’ve been persuaded that believing in the _impossible_ is your only hope. How did that happen? And that your purpose is to worship something beyond your understanding, defined by and only accessible through self-appointed intermediaries.” - Pat Condell, _Your Faith Is A Joke_ (2010-12-16) [03:36]

This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and my word was it fantastic! The arguments, so concise, so blunt, so thorough and so well deserved by the religious. Religion is the burning shackle that swears life would be worse without it holding you to the ground, forcing you to bow down and submit your delusionally created "eternal soul" to another delusion called "god." Great video, great points, bravo.
Religion has always been created by humans and it has always been made to control. What policeman would be better at punishing "criminals" than one who you can never see, but always sees you. The biblical god is not a benevolent savior worthy of love, he is a malevolent punisher demanding fear. (I only address Christianity because that's the religion I know of. Try and be rational. Putting aside theories arising from a big bang event within a possible infinite number of universes within a multi-verse, let’s think logically. Something (whatever you call it - “God”,
“stuff” etc.) cannot come from absolute nothingness. We can surely agree therefore that there has
eternally been “something”. If there is just matter and energy, over an eternity, the world we live in will have
inevitably come into being. To say there must have been a creator because there is “stuff” (currently including us, mountains and cats) is nonsensical, because there MUST have always been something and that will lead over aeons to an infinite number of scenarios. The World is full of naturally occurring horrors such as cancer, tape worms, Ebola, tsetse fly. No doubt you regard these as products created by a benevolent creator. However, if you develop your reasoning, you will understand these are simply the inevitable product of matter and energy over time. The World is not good or evil…it just is.

Charavaka Siddhantha [The Book of the Athiests] is originally written in Sanskrit.
The followers of this book are Atheists and Do Not believe in God.

Jesus was a nutcase who believed the world would end in the first century. Since it didn't and has carried on for a further 2000 years and will probably continue to exists for hundred of millions of years this is not a trivial error on his behalf! What makes him different than other cult leaders like David Koresh or Jim Jones who also believed the world would end? When are you going to come out of your delusion and stop believing in this mythical dead cosmic zombie?

Jesus told people to leave their families, give all their money away and give up their jobs and follow him. He expected the world to end in his lifetime and it says so in the gospels. Since it didn't and hasn't happened that makes him no different than David Koresh, Jim Jones or Charles Manson all who in recent years also predicted the world would end and yet it hasn't. Claiming Jesus just predicted the sacking of Jerusalem is just a cop out, The fact is he was a failed deluded cult leader who was wrong. Had it not been for Constantine who arbitrarily chose Christianity as a religion to unite his empire rather than some other cult Jesus would now be in the same position of Zeus, Thor, Woatang, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the Celestial Teapot, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy or any number of imaginary beings that nobody believes in any more.

You don't have to respect any religion. You are just being offered salvation and atonement through the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, who is the Second Person of the Triune-Natured God. If you don't want it, that is purely up to you. God will not coerce you or your will. But you must be warned, sir, that rejection of the Atonement & Substitution of the Lord Jesus, necessitates an eternity of torment in Hell & the Lake of Fire, because you have offended not me, but God. Therefore, you have been offered Grace; receive it if you will, as God does not want you to perish. But if not, that is up to you. Peace.
And yes, I do choose to worship He whom I cannot fully understand, because He has proven to me over and over again that He does not lie, will not sin, and is perfectly Just & Holy, yet also the definition & root of Love.
So, no, you don't have to respect religion, but God Himself will be respected in the end, despite your lack of belief.
    Philippians 2:10-11:
    10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Thank you also for intelligent and honest dialogue.

Otherwise, why not say, "Depart from me, you cursed into eternal separation from me"? Was Jesus really that poor at communication that he said "into the internal fire " when he really meant, "into eternal separation"? Seems unlikely.

SAINT PAUL search for his affiliation with the HERODIAN DYNASTY linked to HEROD the great whom the ROMANS EMPLOYED as their client KINGS as EDOMITE KINGS.

Why if the CHRIST was a Jew COMPLETLY embedded in his first CENTURY JUDIASM
Then logically the WRITING EMERGING after the SECOND DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE should have been written in ARAMIAC HEBREW, not in GREEK.
Why was Aramiac HEBREW appeared only as ENIGMATIC PROPHETIC proclamations within a text fully written in Greek.

I'm pretty sure the Bible has a lot of flaws, although there is a source, I am pretty sure on that one. Why not instead of just denouncing all those who are spiritual altogether, you try to find the truth? I know a good way to start, if you have an open mind. But you will end up finding some things you thought were truth to not be truth, even some scientific rules, and it can be scary. But those who have spent any decent amount of time down the road of true knowledge, will start seeing things more clearly. You just have to give it a chance to see for yourself. If you do not try this, I can conclude that you have a closed mind, and are afraid of finding things that shatter your own sense of reality.

I feel the exact opposite of that. I feel like when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour I was FREED, unchained, untied and no longer bound up in the garbage of this world and all the endless problems man constantly creates for himself.
Christianity doesn't actually promise world peace and love and a life without problems, disaster and death. I think some ppl get disillusioned with it because they expect that if there IS a God he 'should' be doing the things they want, the things they expect a God to do. Very disappointed Pat. You essentially used the same tactics that you are raging against. Demonizing, belittling, attacking the person through insinuation, etc. Aren't you pontificating as much as the priest in the pulpit at Sunday mass? I understand your main issue is the overreach of a belief. While we, especially in America, have the right of free speech and practice of religion in our first amendment, we have a right to our beliefs, but not the right to enforce them on others. One of the problems, as I see it, is that in demanding the separation of church and state religions are (in theory and somewhat practically) effectively cut off from influencing government - and rightly so. However, Atheism is also a religion with many sects and is not only free to worship at the alter of no god, or science, but has become as destructive as any religion in the practice of forcing their beliefs on others and they use government to accomplish this. Intolerance, hurt feelings, protests, indoctrination, etc are all ways they promote their religion as much as other religions. But Atheists call for the restriction of all other religions in government but their own. Atheism considers itself an ideology but is in fact a religion with an ideology that strives to gain power above all other religions by using the principles of freedom of speech and tolerance. Your title should have been, "Your religion is a joke. Mine is better. Mine will silence all others." Sound like any other religion/ideology we know about?

A careful study of these scriptures in relation to history and archaeology will then bring a conundrum that can only be explained by a God who lives outside of our time bubble and has infinitel knowledge. Our senses are then challenged to explain fulfilled prophesy the source of information, life and creation.(Evolution is a scientific crock)

You covered a lot of subjects in your rant, so I can only address a few.
    (1) RE Not showing respect. If you truly believed that something was evil then of course you would not show it respect. For example, if I thought a certain group was a criminal gang committing all sorts of terrible crimes then of course I wouldn't respect it. The error in your logic is lumping all religions and all religious people together.
    (2) RE The power of the clergy. Your rant seems to be aimed at the catholic church. Not all religions have a powerful clergy, and some have no clergy. Those that have a clergy may not have an abusive clergy. Again, you are not being logical.
    (3) RE Religion is evil. You go on and on about the (supposed) evils and negative traits of religion. The problem is that you list no evidence, and do exactly what you accuse others of doing.
    (4) RE Religion has no purpose. Many atheists claim that religion "evolved" because of its survival value. They even admit that the human race might not exist today without religion. Simply knowing some of the reasons why people are religious does not make our species' need for religion disappear. Without indoctrination, children naturally believe in God. Our brains are wired for religion because of it helps our species survive. Richard Dawkins plans to commit suicide before he is too old and frail to accomplish the act. A religious person is more likely to survive. He may father one more child. It's not likely but it does happen. More often the older and wiser man is able to help younger people in the time of crisis. Old people are valuable to their culture. But the atheist isn't there to do that because he was too cowardly and selfish, and put a bullet through his own head.
    Have a wonderful day.

Not sure you’ll ever see this but the first time I saw this video, over a decade ago, I was still Christian but was struggling with my beliefs. A friend shared this on Facebook and the first time I saw it I was actually pretty pissed. I don’t know why I was pissed, I guess because someone was telling me the truth about my flimsy beliefs. I ignored this video and its message for a while but I kept trying to think of rebuttals and could not think of any. This led me down a path that would ultimately lead to my freedom from religious mythology and the hold that the cult of Christ has on people. So honestly, thank you. There’s always some idiot who doesn’t appreciate such an intense approach and wants to tell you to calm down or to be more considerate but this video literally helped me get out of the cycle of mental abuse that you must go through to actually convince yourself of the bullshit that is Christianity.
Thank you, Pat. Hope you’re well.

@wolf trader As a sceptic i have some problems with your story. You claimed that you have been an atheist but you prayed to the Christian god? That makes no sense.
So in other words you believed that the Christian god is real, and after you believed that he is real, you believed that he is real. Great!
How do you know it was the Christian god that you felt and not one of the endless amount of other gods? which of the over 39.000 different Christian denominations?
So let me try to understand, this god is letting helpless little children die every 2 seconds by the billions, in horror and pain, but he invests his time and magic to help you?
Isn´t that an unreal arrogant and disgusting thing to believe?
And he uses his magic to play around with your free will and make you a better person, but he did not do that with people like Hitler?
Have you ever given any of all this a second thought?

What was it about Jesus Christ that so many people hate? Was it all the people healed and all the poor people he fed? Was it how peaceful he was?
