It's nice to see Tate singing these old classics. It's also great that his voice sounds better than it has for years. The last few years with Queensryche were far from great, but he sounds in excellent form now.
Saw him last night. He was fantastic. Slayed it! Band is excellent as well. I was worried but was blown away! If you get the chance, take it!!! Will not disappoint.
I always think of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, when he sings “London.” Underneath the horror, Dracula is a love story with sadness. I remember reading, the original Queensrÿche was inspired by their reading of Ann Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
Even in his 60s I would be happy if this guy even just sung me the phone book. I am 50 and fell in love with his voice when I was like 15 and still feel the same every time I hear him
I had occasion to meet the original 'Ryche (most of them) away from the official meet and greets and found all of them, including Geoff, to be absolutely genuine. Fast forward, years later, I got to open for Operation: Mindcrime at a small venue and was given a meet and greet after the show. The bassist was smoked up (musician is stoned, news at 11) and Geoff was just as affable and generous as he was two decades before.
Geoff Tate is the man!!!!! period!!!! love and respect him a whole lot. One of my favorite vocalists, has always had a great voice and great technique to go with it. He is such a beast!!!! Queensryche reunion with Chris please, then i can die i n peace!!😊
I was 19 when Rage came out. This album has so many meanings for my youth growing up. It was such a statement in music at that point. I worked at a local record store and I will never forget the day we got it in. Looking back it’s actually quite chilling knowing what this album means to me. The relationship I was in and the thing I was going through still come to mind when I hear it. It really is/was the soundtrack to my youth.
I've seen a couple videos from the tour and now I really wish I could have gone to see him. Take Hold of the Flame at the end of this was an awesome surprise!!
with all the 80s singers out there totally tanking their gigs with shot voices and embarrassing shows, this guy just keeps marching on, good as ever. BECAUSE HE IS A FUCKING VOCALIST !!! not some guy that made a funny sound with his mouth.
Most of those guys really weren't very good live to begin with (looking at you, Vince). Geoff, Rob, and Bruce still have it. Ronnie still had it until he died, too.
Saw this concert 2 times in the last 7 weeks - absolutely fricken EPIC!!!❤️ Was really blown away... I' ve never been so amazed by any other artist, and I have seen almost all of them live over the years...
The blue light make Geoff's dome look like he's singing in infrared. This is awesome!!! Thank you so much for posting and editing this. It's interesting to see an electric kit reproduce the incredible work by Scott Rockenfield.
Thank you for sharing this Queensryche had been my favourite band until they got rid of Geoff. His voice is still the best. I saw him do an acoustic show a few years ago and he was perfect. With covid, this is the closest I will be seeing this tour in Canada. Again, thanks for sharing.
Geoff Tate - I don't want to sing metal. Also Geoff Tate - How about we constantly rehash all of my old metal tracks? He sounds good... but at least own up to it, dude! Take Hold!
I don't think it matters either way. It's his and QR's music. Haven't you ever gone back to something good you did for years simply because you find you missed it?
The audio isn’t the best. It sounds really “cloudy” for large parts of the show with occasional “bright” spots. We all have to understand that given Geoff’s age and lifestyle, he just not the same singer he was in his 20’s and early 30’s. Yeah I know, master of the obvious. I will say this, compared to some of his stuff I saw 5-6 years ago this performance was head and shoulders better. He seems to have his vibrato back and was able to sing higher in his range although I’ve always liked his rich lower tones as much if not more. It was pretty easy to pick out that some of the sustained higher notes weren’t coming through the mic. I Will Remember sounded really good though.
It’s a lot more economical for touring on a small budget and they have greater control over the sound. Rage for Order has a lot of electric drum sounds and samples so it’s much easier to have them programmed into a Roland brain. The V-drums are compact enough to travel anywhere with instead of having to rent kits and drum mics when traveling overseas etc. EQ’ing acoustic drums takes a lot of time and without a full crew it’s just not as financially feasible. So to sum it up….it’s efficient, easy to control the mix, transportable, has sounds programmed that are needed for certain songs, and you don’t need to pay a drum tech.
I find it infinitely ironic the Geoff Tate would tour off his former band's success when part of the reason they fired him was because he didn't want to do the clasic QR anymore. Now that I hear him struggle to sing it, I understand why he was avoiding it. ( For the record, In reading all the upbeat and postive posts below, I have a feeling my criticism won't stay posted on this page for very long lol)
He may not be what he used to be but to sing a full set at the caliber he is doing rite now is incredible he is simply in a league of his own and yeah your comment was shitty
@@mattstoy4578 Hahaha my comment was shitty? Why, because I have an opinion that doesn't align with yours? Geoff Tate is a tuned-down shell of what he used to be. Even you admit it, only in less critical terms. He became about the brand, not the fans. That's why I'll stick with the actual Queensryche, and not the washed up wannabe lol. How's that for shitty? Haha
Well he just made an album with a band called sweet oblivion and so that tells me hes not washed up and queensryche is only 2 original members now and at 62 yrs old to say he struggled is hardly fair ive been watching these shows hes done and i really think hes kicking ass and i apologize for saying your comment was shitty as i had just watched him do operation mindcrime and was pretty pumped up from it and couldnt fathom anyone saying anything negative about him

London has always been my favorite song from this album. And OMG!!!! Geoff sings it FLAWLESSLY!!!! His voice is sounding absolutely amazing!!!
America’s favorite word: omg. 😂😂
London sounds like he's still on early 90's singing, incredible!!
I always think of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, when he sings “London.” Underneath the horror, Dracula is a love story with sadness. I remember reading, the original Queensrÿche was inspired by their reading of Ann Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
I have followed Tate from the beginning....he has always been the GOAT
Even in his 60s I would be happy if this guy even just sung me the phone book. I am 50 and fell in love with his voice when I was like 15 and still feel the same every time I hear him
💯
So proud of Geoff, his passion and skills seem to be recharging well
Geoff sounds incredible
I can’t wait to see him and his band in 10 days 😃 I’m super excited. Saw him 5xs with Queensryche back in the 90s ❤️❤️❤️
his voice is just amazing, this concert. sounds real good..wow, his band his ripping it too...give that a 10. yes

Geoff still got it . THe back bone of the true sound.

Number 1 metal singer
My favorite release. I will remember
Mr Voice Geoff Tate
Forever
He still sounds pretty darn good.
Thanks for this … I missed it😢

I’ve never been a fan electric kits, but he does good with them!
Luv it! Really showcases the rhythm section on Chemical Youth (We are Rebellion). Excellent
Holy hell!! Geoff is sounding incredible here. Thanks for sharing this awesome performance. 🙏🤘
Last night saw this show in Idaho! Epic!!!!

I'll be at the fort meyers show in February can't wait
EPIC 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Absolutely outstanding !!!!
🤘🔥🤘
The guitarist with the mohawk looks like Uhtred, from the tv series The Last Kingdom.
You KNOW Geoffs right when Chris Degarmo left the OG lineup. I dont find Todd to be a good replacement

Queensryche
Whats with the electronic kit???
I missed walking in shadows
whats the drummer playing on an electric drumkit?
i hate that drum kit
Interesting...Tate has the drummer playing an electronic drum kit (looks child like). Is that a subtle "FU" to Rockenfield?? Just sayin...

Agree to disagree. You’re a fan equal to all of us. I feel he does quite well. This is the best version of a band he has had to date IMO. Cheers.
