Great idea, we snapped those door pins up near Kununurra. Wrong place to try to get replacement parts! Used plenty of duct tape to secure the outer skin back to the door.
Very easily done, thought I would do something before we lost our door ! Some people have commented that you could be locked in from the outside, but once the pin is retracted & the key taken out, the pin can't be pushed back in, it's locked in the open position. You can also easily remove the pin altogether if you are still worried. Cheers & thank you for you comment. Baz
Onya mate, we have a Jayco Sterling 17.55 with a door that goes the other direction, but great tip. Loving your other videos too, great work. Dave from Perth..... now subscribed!
Thanks for the ideas. Sorry to see water damage in the wall around the vent near the door. I think that's water pouring off the pop-up roof corner straight down onto the vent, We have the same issue and are looking at some sort of external vent cover or a diverter on the roof there.
Great idea of using the window lock, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Dave 👍
Hey Baz - Good idea but only 1 issue. Someone can lock you in if they push the bolt over when you are inside
Ahhh, I thought of that, but if you put the open position & turn the key it locks the pin in the open position, can't be pushed back in !

Yep, thats exactly whats happened. Will be certainly putting a small cover over the top of the vent, cheaper than a new van !
We have locks top and bottom of our destiny door.
Great idea Helen !
We haven't had any problems yet with ours, touch wood 🙂
