Hey Guys, I just wanted to say I love Dead or Alive! I was lucky enough to pick up the Dead or Alive remix album for Record Store Day on Saturday! I got the last one at one of my local records stores! I also picked up the Donna Summer & Kim Wilde special edition exclusives for Record Store Day! I was lucky to get ALL three of the selections I wanted! Yay! I'm an 80's fanatic as well! I LOVE the movie "Footloose"! I saw it three times in theaters back when it was released in 1984! Some of my other ALL time favorite 80's movies include "Flashdance" "The Breakfast Club" St. Elmo's Fire" "Dirty Dancing" "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" "About Last Night" "Just One Of The Guys" & "RAD"!
Hey there, thanks for stopping by our channel! Congrats on those great finds! We love Kim Wilde - got a rare opportunity to see her perform last year on The 80s Cruise and WOW! She's still got it! All of those movies you mentioned are so classic. We especially love Ferris Bueller too and of course Footloose!
There's only 2 of the 2018 reissues of the Psychedelic Furs albums that I don't have, that one "Midnight To Midnight" & "World Outside" I have them all on CD but also wanted "Plastic" versions - Dead Or Alive were Stock Aitken Waterman 80's ear cancer, It's shocking what he did to his face, I think his lips swelled up and exploded after botched lip implants - Yeah he's dead. Speaking of dead John Denver built himself a plane - you can't buy stupid.
Great selection...your right..many RSD do not represent the 1980's as well as deserved. But it's good to go and pick up some great used 80's albums. I remember parents has an Avon Christmas cassette growing up which included a Muppet song - 12 days of Christmas and other classics. I eventually got it on LP.
YES!! It's so funny that you mentioned the "Rage Dance" which we've been referring to as the "Angsty Gymnastics Dance" LOL! We literally just hosted a Footloose discussion on last week's podcast, and that dance was the funniest part of the entire conversation. Anyway, thanks for stopping by our channel, and here's a link to that video in case you missed it: th-cam.com/video/PmZh-8J0STA/w-d-xo.html
Hey guys. Im new sub. I luv ya vids. I was in the crowd for the music clip spin me 92 by DOA was filmed mainly in a nite club in Sydney Australia. Im a huge vinyl collector and own 15k 😮 luv Debbie gibson and met Tiffany 4 years ago in Sydney once again. Look forward to going thru your channel. Peace n luv 2 everyone ❤
That's amazing!! Woah...15,000 records Oh my goodness! Thanks so much for subscribing and stopping by to share your memories! Much love from the USA :)
x I really like the artwork on vinyl, it is like have your own piece of art! x I am glad that the Millennial Generation, who are publicly (not privately) averse to picking up Gen X traditions, are really picking up on vinyl. o They do seem to want to bring back the tradition, I see it often on pop music videos and some other current pop culture references. x "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead or Alive is at the opening sequence of the film The Wedding Singer, one of my roommates and I used to watch that film a lot. x "Twelve Days of Christmas" by John Denver and the Muppets...my memory is hazy...was either on a cassette tape of a 12" single that we had that we listened to A LOT. x Fletch is such a great film! o The film leaves Netflix soon and I am totally booked for films...I might be able to find some time to watch it...
Thanks Ben! We totally agree about vinyl cover art. I think next to the actual music (of course) that's our favorite thing about collecting records. I hadn't even thought about it until reading your comment about Millennials... we can give them credit for spurring on the latest vinyl craze, and that's great! In fact, our daughter started collecting a few years before we got a player and began collecting again. It's fun that she influenced us in that way!
Fun video guys! Love the Footloose soundtrack. I went shopping (in my checkered vans) here in Frisco, Tx. I grabbed a copy of the Earth Girls Are Easy soundtrack. Love your video's, such a blast. Keep up the great work!
Speaking of Psychedelic Furs, you ought to feature Pretty In Pink for you Dinner And A Movie!!! There's a couple of 80's Christmas Albums that would be great for your wall. Al Green's White Christmas, and one of my all-time favorites, Christmas Eve With Johnny Mathis!!!
There's a few. There's Pink Lemonade of course. There's also Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Icing, Watermelon, etc. I was actually just on Google and they have some list of Pink Foods that you can probably get some ideas from!!!
Vinyl is groovy, pun intended! My brother has a killer collection,my uncle Mike has worked in a legendary record store in the San Francisco area for 30 or so years. Sadly,my only record is not made of Vinyl at all! It’s made from corn starch. It’s a 1924 recording of the song ‘Brazil’ It’s not even at modern playing speed,so I can’t even listen to it anymore! Used to,on my grandparents’ old player. I miss that…
Oh wow, I've never heard of a corn starch record before... sounds very fragile! I'm impressed you were able to play it at all, cool! And yes, Fletch is such a fun movie. We're excited for that one! As always, thanks for stopping by Charles.
No the corn records are VERY hard, they were just the predecessors of the wax cylinders, they are very heavy and thick,a beautiful thing to hold in one’s hand. Vinyl is a relatively new innovation,in the grand scheme of recording technology.
Yes!! Wasn't that cool? We've been following that story and loving! We got a chance to visit Payson a few years ago and did a Footloose filming locations video. Here's a link if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/Gqeb5lnYo20/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wX2Y5HMekHssF8wS

I have my Footloose album from the 80's (and my movie ticket)! It's always fun to run across those memory treasures.
That's amazing! The coolest part is that you kept your original movie ticket, wow!!

New to your channel! I LOVE 80's soundtracks (my whole channel is all about the genre). Footloose is one of the best of any decade!
Hey there and welcome to our channel. Always glad to meet a fellow 80s enthusiast. Rock on!!

Thanks! And wow, you're the second person to mention that Muppets cassette in our comments today. I'm surprised neither of us had that as kids!
Footloose? HECK YEAH! The movie where Kevin Bacon "Rage Dances" at the train yard to get out all his teenage frustrations! Legendary!
