Hi Tim, we went as a family to Skegness. I was shocked at how clean and tidy it was. There was no chip fat smell and no boarded up shops or graffiti. The people were so friendly. We enjoyed the bustling town centre with small independent shops and stalls. There was plenty of parking £3 for 4 hours by the sea front. It reminded me of how Great Yarmouth used to be. Thanks for recommending this place. Great day out.
Fantastic video Tim, you did the seemingly impossible and made Skeggy look almost exotic! Being from Nottingham my parents would take me and my brothers to Skeggy every year!
My favourite place in the uk and my most happiest memories in my life were here. (besides the birth of my daughter)! Went here every august for 15 years or more as a kid with my grandparents and now I’m doing the same for my daughter 🥰 she was two today (Sunday 28th) so this year will be her first proper year there 💪🏻 thanks for the video!
Loved this Tim. Stayed at Skegness Butlins about 15years ago three years running when my boys were young. We visited the town itself a handfull of times. I remember a water splash area you could walk through on the front. It was redeveloped the second time we visited . Some very happy memories here. X
Great film. Spent many childhood holidays in Skegness. The pier was my favourite place. I used to fish from it. Remember seeing Les Dawson in a comedy play in the early ‘70’s in the theatre which was at the very end. Very sad when it was destroyed in January 1978. There were plans to repair and re-open the theatre but nothing came of it.
Great to see the remote control boats still there. As kids, we used to go to Skeggy on the annual day trip from our village 'top club' trip back in the late 60s - 70s. Anyone else remember the 'Wall Of Death' motorcycle setup at the Pleasure Beach?. We also dropped on two good (hot) summers at the nearby Butlins (would have been mid 70s), where we stayed for 2 weeks (I think). Happy days (if only we could go back in time). Great video and looked really nice in the sunshine.
Haven’t been to Skegness for quite a few years and it looks a lot nicer than I remember. Didn’t even know they had the little boats and you showed a lot of places that I don’t think I knew were there. Really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing and stay safe😀😀
I love Skegness and I would go there anytime of the day or the week. Skegness is a place I used to like going on holiday and I know it has changed over the years and there is new stuff there now judging and watching this video of Skegness. This is a fish and chip shop on the seafront next to Tony's fish and chip shop and it is a place where I used to get fish and chips and curry of my dinner when ever I was on holiday down there. It is very well loved seafront seaside where all the people including me like to visit and take stroll along the seafront and get a ice cream or a donut and go to the amusements and play on the machines especially the coin pusher where the 2ps move off the edge and you win prizes like a 5 pound note or a keyring etc. This is childhood stuff for me when I was little and I would like to thank you for uploading the video for all of us to see right now in full view and see what has changed over the years. Thank you.
@@WalkWithMeTim No problem pal. It is a place I love so much when I was a kid but I also love Bridlington and Mablethorpe too both places are in my young heart.
Aww, this was a huge blast from the past and brough back fantastic memories of a day trip to Skegness when we were stopping near Woodhall Spa back in April 2013 in a lovely Holiday Park. It really is as fab as I remember it so thanks for sharing. I love the Lincolnshire coast, the beaches are spot on and Skegness was no exception so thanks again for your work Tim.
It is even better this year with the improved pedestrianisation of the esplanade approaching the beach, plus many other things. There are plenty of real Palm trees also!
Another great video Tim Now the nights are drawing in I need to watch more sunshine, summer videos. Lucky I can go back and watch your back catalogue Until the next time Keep safe fella 👍🏻✌️🙌
i've only been to skeggy once in the the 60's as a kid of about 8, and never got around to going back for some reason, so looks like it's worth a visit. I remember last time i found a womans purse on the beach, so took it to the police station, and while there a panicking woman was asking if anyone had handed one in. it was perfect timing and she gave me two bob as a thank you, which i was a bit reluctant to take as it seemed so much lol and i didnt expect anything, but i paid for me n dad to go on the dodgems for the first time - nostalgia aint what it used to be is it :), so thanks for this, gave me some ideas.
I was in skegness in January stayed at the savoy hotel on a 5 day weekend loved the place so I'm going back at easter to see what's it's like when everywhere is open and fingers crossed its warmer
I did the sound and lighting there ( not all lol ) as well. As for the pier before it destroyed i went one of the last show there with Norman Wisdom - thanks for the memories Tim , and my premature ageing Cheers Rob

Great video once more Tim.. Yeah I remember the Arnold Palmer at Great Yarmouth.. As a kid it used to be the highlight of the holiday, trying to win the free round for next visit by potting the ball in the hole on the final hole 😊
Never been to Skegness. Looks better kept than Great Yarmouth. You had a lovely day for the weather. Always loved the old Arnold Palmer crazy golf courses. I love these videos. Living in Australia now, we obviously have better beaches here but we don’t have the proper seaside towns like back home. I’ve been back to the UK a couple of times but there’s never enough time to recreate all my childhood memories like my trips to Skeggy. Skegness looks quite nice here. @@WalkWithMeTim The Great Yarmouth one was ruined in 2013 when it was turned into Castaway Island by the owners of the big Pirate Cove course, nearby. Skeg vagas looks amazing place I've been but not that end of Skeggness. It looks really good for a holiday eventually after COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown. Dose anyone know how good butlins is?
I actually come from the Midlands, Tim, and I know Skegness had/has the nickname of "Nottingham by the Sea" in my whereabouts, due to the fact Nottm folk converge there during the summer months. I've seen so many changes in Skeggy over the years, but the atmosphere still holds the same vibrancy and friendliness ☺ Cheers, Tim ☺☺

Sinclair C5 @ 6m 40s , I remember them!
It was random that was there ...
Skeg vagas looks amazing place I've been but not that end of Skeggness. It looks really good for a holiday eventually after COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown. Dose anyone know how good butlins is?
Butlins is good! yes
Well this sure beats South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands!!
lol
I actually come from the Midlands, Tim, and I know Skegness had/has the nickname of "Nottingham by the Sea" in my whereabouts, due to the fact Nottm folk converge there during the summer months. I've seen so many changes in Skeggy over the years, but the atmosphere still holds the same vibrancy and friendliness ☺
Cheers, Tim ☺☺
I come from Leicester and we always called it Costa Del Skeg. Lovely video brought back some very good memories. Me mum, dad, nanna, grandad and cousins. I can almost smell the chips and candy floss.
I agree! I love it!
