Hi Eustace, you're missing out on one fantastic feature in the Godox X1 Pro trigger, which everyone seems to ignore. There is a feature which helps you get the exposure right on your first shot, without guessing and adjusting several times until it's right. TTL metering works just like normal exposure metering, in that the background can fool the camera meter. So zooming in or out can completely change the TTL flash output (inconsistent exposures). So here is the way to get it perfect, first time, every time: 1. Put the flash in TTL mode. 2. Zoom in or move closer to fill the frame with your subject. 3. Take a shot and the exposure should be great because the camera only sees the subject and is not influenced by the background. 4. Press and hold the TCM button for approx 2 secs and the flash switches to Manual mode, locking in the correct power it just fired at. You're now locked in to a perfect exposure and can zoom in and out and reframe without the exposure changing (as it would in TTL mode). Repeat the above steps each time you move your model into a different light/location. TCM stands for "TTL Convert to Manual" If the model is wearing white/very light or black/very dark clothing, you can get her to hold a grey card or something of average reflectance and fill the frame with that before firing the flash at step 3.
Hey Nate! Yes! First you've to make sure your background is properly exposed then introduce the light to illuminate your subject, see in this video 👉 th-cam.com/users/shortsxNLAJRExZOk

Hi Eustace, would you be able to do an indepth tutorial on the X pro trigger. I have never been able to adjust it from the camera side. Only from the light. It is supposed to be remote. How to set it up would be great thanks.
Hey Fam, I was checking if I can control my Xpro in-camera with my Sony a7iii and I don't think it's possible only using the transmitter to remotely control my strobes and flashes. I'll try to demonstrate in one of my future videos.
your trigger have nothing to do with your knowledge play a main role Call and read books and go on TH-cam and find a mentor and stick with it mimic similar poses and find out why you have this problem
Hey Gomot, the 34" is my favorite because of it's size, it's not too small and it's also not too big you can get it here👉 amzn.to/3B380cG See how I use it in this video👉 th-cam.com/video/MTTI_CEggpg/w-d-xo.html If I a want a much bigger light source I go for a 48" Deep Parabolic Softbox you can get it here👉 amzn.to/3cbM7xp See how I use it in this video👉 th-cam.com/video/NP26yVJBSok/w-d-xo.html

You would need a flash that has HSS (High speed synchro). Not all flashes do that. The Godox V1 has it. The disadvantage of HSS is that it usually consume more battery. If you want to keep your current shutter speed and you shoot in very bright daylight you can try the following : set low iso (100 or 200), large aperture (if you want a nice shallow depth of field), and he current 1/160 speed. Add a ND filter (a 3 or 4 stops compensation - worth 50 USD or so). The ND filter will help lower the ambiant bright light without having to increase shutter speed (which you can’t do anyway). Your subject will be very dark. Light your subject with the flash (ideally with a modifier like an umbrella or softbox). There are many TH-cam videos on that (type « outdoor portrait ND filter »). Hope it helps.

I have been looking for a video that actually breaks down what you need for off camera flash photography and this is it! thank you very much!
So you have to set the background light first before you can set the subject’s light?
