Here's how I like to make almond butter in the Nutribullet. I couldn't find any technique that DOES NOT use oil so I decided to make one up myself.

The technique I used in this video seemed to do the trick. And I still thought the almond butter tasted delicious!
In one of my other videos, I tried making almond butter in the Nutribullet and the Nutri Ninja Auto IQ without the use of any oil or any liquid to keep the blender moving and stay cool.

since you are already adding water. Try soaking the nuts first. That should further put less stress on your blender.

You do not need ANY liquid or oil to make nut butter in a Nutribullet. The key is using the correct amount of nuts for it to be able to grab the paste and keep mixing throughout the 1 minute cycle without stopping to scrape down. First, you must use the large cup because you need to use more nuts. For softer nuts like cashews or peanuts use 1.5-1.75 cups at once. For harder or drier nuts like almonds or walnuts use about 2 cups of nuts at once. When you have the right amount, they will blend into nut butter by themselves in 1 to 2 minutes (pausing between the recommended 1 minute cycles). For very liquid nut sauce blend up to 1 additional minute. Once we figured out the correct volume of nuts required to create proper traction with the blade it is extremely fast, easy, and painless to make very smooth nut butter in the Nutribullet using only nuts and nothing else. Happy blending! 🙂

Nutribullet specifically states not to blend without any liquid because you will damage the extractor blade and the power base.

Did you use the grinder blade or the smoothie blade? I made almond flour in my NutriBullet the other day and that recipe said to use the grinder blade.

Have you tried soaking the nuts over night first? I think that would soften then a bit. Good video, thanks for posting.

That wouldn't result in butter and would spoil soon. I'm looking into nut butter stone grinders, you might find them interesting.

It’s still gritty. It’s really hard to do it in the nutribullet. Too much liquid and you have more of a nut smoothie . I have yet to get a perfect nut butter consistency in my nutribullet.

The old recipe from 2008 says to use the flat the blade first to break up the almonds then switch to the cross blade

Add hot sauce instead of water. Some Almonds are sold with hot sauce already in them and make spicy butter.

I stress the heck out of my Nutrabullet. I treat it like my b#tch, seriously. They are really tough to bust, had the same one for years. I shake it hard while its on.
