Epic sushi feast! Your sense of adventure is commendable. The abalone sashimi looks gross and slimy. Love the close-up shots being able to see clearly what you're eating. Yum! Yes please! Exciting food vlog with interesting content. So good I watched it twice. Thanks for sharing.
Mahalo for coming closer than any other vlogger to letting us almost feel what it's like to TASTE this delicious, fresh food. No wonder you two spent so much time in Japan. My son, back when he was in middle school/high school started talking about wanting to visit. I thought he was nuts. I never wanted to go back to where I was born, grew up (Korea, Japan, Korea). Now, thanks to you and a few other vloggers, including semi-famous silent vloggers, I definitely want to return to the homeland(s) before I die. I do remember back when I was three, living at a Japanese base, with trips to Tokyo, that the childhood snacks, the TV shows, the TOYS were the best.
Wow!!!! Everything looks amazing.. I give Felix a pat on his back for eating the abalone guts🤑… great footage today can’t wait until the next video.. have fun and be safe
Wow what amazing looking food!! I'm so jealous!! Question: Have you ever considered blurring out the faces of people in the background? I always think it's very polite and kind of youtubers who do that.
Foodie Ohana still in JAPAN 🇯🇵! Love it. It’s time for seafood…smaller sushi places are the best. Personal and intimate experience. OHH Toro! 🍣 Looked like the people behind you at the sushi place were wanting to pick up your bill. 😂 Those oysters looked so yummy after you ate that abalone snot. Hairy crab 🦀 gotta love it. Another fun and interesting adventure with my Foodie Ohana. Mahalo for the ride along! 🤙🏽🍣🦀🍶🍚🌴❤️
Amazing video! Went to Nijo Market earlier during mid November 2023 but was kinda disappointed because not all the stalls and restaurants were open inside. Not sure if we had to go earlier since when we reached the place around 10 to 11 am some of the inner restaurants still weren't open. Or that they closed early. Any advice on what time we should actually go to Nijo Market? Search up that most restaurants open up by 7am... So should we be there by 8am???
I just discovered your channel recently and have been binge-watching your content and guess what I realised? I tend to order food delivery typically sushi AFTER I'm done watching your videos. hahaha I just can't resist every time! Great content Amanda & Felix! 😊
Love you channel we sure could use your expertise in September when we visit Oahu for ten days staying in Waikiki and definitely exploring Chinatown any recommendations would be appreciated! Mahalo
Pacific surf clam is always red except for Hokkaido. It is grey because it is sooo fresh. Think of shrimp as grey when fresh and turns red when cooked. Lol the abalone liver is kind of like the oyster belly but 10x.
ALOHA Amanda and Filex, Everything looks Ono luscious Awsome tour Thank You for bring us along LOVE And GOD BLESS You both Aloha Always Chrissy Honolulu Hi 😘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘💜💙💋
Wow the food looks awesome. The spiny crab looks hard to eat because it hurts the fingers. I don’t know about the inside part. My favorite watching you is eating the sashimi. Now I want to go to Hokkaido again.
I’m Thai-American. Went to Hokkaido last year and absolutely fell in love, so I’m coming back again in few weeks! 😍 So excited to eat the best seafood in the world
Amanda and Felix, the seafood looks so onolicious and amazing. You are right, crab is always kinda pricey but when you put in your mouth, you are happy. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful and amazing adventure in Japan. Big Mahalo's
No way I eat that Abalone gut. Northern California boy who dove for Abs many times as a young man and cleaned the gut off and ate the foot sliced, pounded and fried like it should be. Lived in Southern Japan for two years and dove weekly. Gathered and ate a lot of Abs but never raw. And that's from a guy who loved Sashimi and Sushi in Japan. Most delicate Sashimi was live Squid. We didn't realize it as we ate the sliced mantles but somebody poked the tentacles of one and it grabbed the Hashi. When we finished the raw mantles then the restaurant cooked the head and tentacles as Tempura or Yakitori as we wished. I'll be in Otaru and Sapporo in August for two weeks doing exactly what you two are doing (minus a camera, of course).
Just as I predicted from the last episode "melt in your mouth". Yummy, does not even describe half of it. LOL! Wish I was there with you both. Keep up the great videos and thank you so much for sharing your foodie experience in Japan. Priceless! Yes, Felix I agree, your comment... "why don't more merchants in Hawaii make some of the different mouth watering food & drinks"? Good food is really not hard to make. But getting it here is another story. Sometimes it's due to the cost and the need to cut corners or product availability. Restaurants not thinking outside the box and they are just putting a twist on what others do. Same ol same ol but I am not speaking for all & Hawaii is home. Thats why we go to Japan and other places to "see & eat something good"! I just love your Japan series. And agreed, we do have a lot of bright spots here...FYI, & congrats to "Bar Leather Apron" in Honolulu they just WON the James Beard award. Not an easy feat for HI. :-0)
Bar leather apron and Fete! Both very deserving 👍that's the one thing that's hard about hawaii.. the shipment of goods 😣 Mahalo for joining us on this episode Rick! 🤙
My mouth was watering watching you eat everything, except for the awabi no miso (?) - abalone guts. (I donʻt like the guts or innards of anything.) You really canʻt beat the fresh seafood! I love the sushi and crab you had. I also ate at a little restaurant on a pier where every dish contained lobster brought in that day and taken straight to the kitchen. I canʻt remember the name of the place, but that meal was seafood heaven! Looking forward to your next Sapporo foodie adventure...
That's the crab galahs. Yeah, we used to catch the blue pinchers or occasional Samoan crab from the bridge near Kailua boat ramp. Aku head always worked. Now the water is kind of gross so nah, pass.
Yep! Grew up Haleiwa/Waialua & we used to crab in Anahulu/Kaukonahua rivers, aku head was Always bait of choice. Dunno if both rivers the same nowadays!-lol
FYI...Abalone @11:50 looks Oozingly delectable! I would've just Inhale dat sucka!-lol...Think the difference btwn Hawaiian seafood & Japanese bounty is that Japan, in general & Hokkaido, in particular...sits higher up in N Pacific current, in the "splash zone', if you will...of the Arctic Current so that Arctic/N Pacific plankton bloom is caught up in that current wash. Moscato/Muscat grape goes all the way back to ancient Egypt/Persia, c. 1000-3000BC
Back in the 70's, my cousins and I would pick oysters in Enchanted Lake in Kailua. My aunt and uncle's house was right on the lake. Hard to beat when the oysters are just picked and good sized, too. I'm curious Amanda, did you mean to say it was fishy or did you really mean an ocean flavor? I usually refer to seafood being fishy when it's not fresh. Mahalo for another ono kine video!
hey i think while you're editing the video, you should blur the people behind you...they might not like being filmed, they also keep looking directly at the camera looking kinda annoyed. TH-camrs like Mikey Chen have gotten a lot of hate comments about this...

As a Hokkaido citizen, I can confirm we have the hairiest crab in the world, and we can’t stop loving it.

Wow the seafood looks fantastic 😍 Japan has the most amazing looking sushi, so fresh and the presentation looks awesome.
It looked almost too good to be real! 🤤
Wow the food looks awesome. The spiny crab looks hard to eat because it hurts the fingers. I don’t know about the inside part. My favorite watching you is eating the sashimi. Now I want to go to Hokkaido again.
We agree! It was hard to eat the hairy crab!
北海道には外国人観光客が1人も来てないと思っていましたが2人来てたんですね!見た目が日本人なので気が付きませんでした!楽しんで貰えたなら嬉しいです!

I remember having a grilled scallop and crab miso soup at Nijo market. You're bringing back happy memories. 👍👍👍
It must've been just as tasty and fresh!

Interesting facts! The freshness is very apparent! 🤤
Back in the 70's, my cousins and I would pick oysters in Enchanted Lake in Kailua. My aunt and uncle's house was right on the lake. Hard to beat when the oysters are just picked and good sized, too.

Mahalo for another ono kine video!
You're correct! I meant briny as Felix mentioned 🤙
@@AmandaFelixEats Mahalo for clarifying that.
You should give the address so tourists know where is this ,special place in Waikiki.
Check the description, we listed the google maps link since the business didn't have a website.
Felix has a problem with the language.😂😂
😂😂😂
Hai Dozo causing I just started the video you see I think if I finished it. Malama Pono ui eye(maka)
Macro? Mackro? looks Ono ⚘⚘⚘
Makeral 👍
👍👍😎💖💖💖💕
👍🙏🤙
Felix, you keep saying crab tamale. What’s that? Tamago?
I might have been pronouncing it wrong..I meant crab tomalley 👍
@@AmandaFelixEats sounds right! I learned something new.
How much was that omakase sushi platter?
Around 3000 yen
@@AmandaFelixEats crazy heard Sapporo and Otaru seafood even better and cheaper than Tokyo! Awesome you got hairy crab.
Wait, no Hokkaido milk? 😢 Hokkaido milk teas are the best!
Stay tuned for more Hokkaido food content! 🤙
You are like chonnyday but older and less energy
hey i think while you're editing the video, you should blur the people behind you...they might not like being filmed, they also keep looking directly at the camera looking kinda annoyed. TH-camrs like Mikey Chen have gotten a lot of hate comments about this...
The crab restaurant is permanently closed.
I like seafood but It has to be cooked for me.
Sorry but those “guts” to the abalone looked nasty 😂
😂😂
already too many rules
Unfortunately, I am one of those who can't eat raw seafood... 😁 But thanks for the video guys
Mahalo for watching!
What happened to your fingers Amanda‽
Dry hands and blisters 😣
