I never played FFIV, but one of my friends is absolutely in love with the game. We're both Dominican living in the US now, but to have someone from our country fall in love this much with a JRPG of all things says something about the game. Now imagine how delighted he was when I showed him all the FFIV references I could find in XIV!

As someone who hasn't played FFIV, I still really like this theme.
It's also funny how, despite not playing it, I'm using the Moonward set, dyed purple, for my RDM glamour. I'm basically grape Rydia.

this is my favourite theme in the entire game! every time i play these dungeons i always crank up the music at the last boss :D this song just gets me so pumped :D

I don't want to sound rude, but what's your favorite FF14 expansion to date, since we're "technically" done with EW? (Asked the same question in the Ultima Thule quotes video) I personally think SHB is the GOAT, while EW and HW are battling for second place

For me personally, based on story wise, EW is the GOAT, 2nd is ShB, 3rd is HW

It's still a very close thing but at the end of the day I have to give it to EW followed by ShB and then StB.

@@mrdevilsa yeah, final walk and Emet's awful and forced appearance were terribly heavy handed. They just had to reeeaally make sure you understand what is happening by explicitly telling you instead of just showing and letting your think and feel for yourself. Imagine how much harder the whole sequence would've hit if we didn't have all this glorified fake-out deaths of the Scions and instead had them die in combat protecting you and yours. Imagine if Emet-Selch wouldn't have been involved at all and we could win this fight against amalgamation of the entire universe's despair by our own once again proving our worth of his legacy. Not with him personally being there but with his memory in our minds. For a final of the whole game, this feels incredibly lame and dissapointing. Ultima Thule is very pretty though, no denying that.
Elpis was cool despite also being sketchy with the whole time-travel shenanigans. Up until your character confessing that you are a time-traveller, then it was also terrible. The final cutscene at the top of Ktisis Hyperboreia is top-tier garbage in my opinion despite the dungeon itself being pretty fun. God damn, memory-erasing machines, seriously?... That's the best writers could think of? what was the point of making you confess to being a time-traveller if you're going to undo it all half an hour later? Couldn't they've made you to confess ONLY to Venat and then let her convice Emet to back his suspisions? That wouldn't have changed anything from what we have now but eliminated the stupidest move of memory erasure
That's just some of the bigger wrecks of the story that doesn't allow Endwalker to rise above Shadowbringers' better structured and less forced story.
