@@Itsok549, The woman in this vlog. I don’t know how she showed up in my feed, but I just watched a few videos and can tell you she doesn’t know anything about the food she’s eating. Moreover, she goes to almost exclusively low-quality tourist places. I live in Italy and have been to Greece many times. The places she highlighted would not be considered good and how she described what she’s eating barely makes sense

@@marikafasola3780, If we’re talking exclusively about Athens, my favourite places are in the neighbourhood of Kallimarmaro, not in Plaka where this video was made. I also tend to go to the stalls rather than getting the ones in the restaurants since I prefer to eat souvlaki as a pita and not a platter because there are many other good dishes to have as a proper meal. There are other good ones in the suburbs, but Kallimarmaro is the most accessible to tourists so just go there and ask some locals. In general, I would advise you to do that and not follow the advice of this vlogger- I have been to almost all of the places where she has produced a video and she really doesn’t know what she’s talking about or what is good quality apart from a few exceptions.

Definitely go to ze zee’s in athens for amasing seafood bcs their mini sardines were cooked to perfection with the squeeze of lemon juice it was heavenly

The first shop that you showed in your video named "Kostas" is legendary. One of the best if not the best by some for souvlaki. It has passed through two generations of the same family. My husband use to buy souvlaki from that place when he was living downtown.

@@vasiliki_R am from the Emirates so the dish is not a native dish we only learn of it from I think the Egyptians, at least I did .. but their musakaa is a bit different than this one it’s a little more stewy if it makes any sense I really can’t think of eating it alone.. this looks like ( macaroni béchamel ) that’s why I was asking how you eat it it does look like something you’ll eat by itself thank you for clarifying it 🥰
@@mhayah Greek musaka is also a variation of the Egyptian shared cousine is common in the east Mediterranean and middle east. I would like to try it.
My aunt hitchhiked all over Europe in the 60's. She always said Greece was the most beautiful place she's ever been to. I'm working hard to make it over there to spread a little bit of her and my uncle's ashes over there. Thanks for more inspiration.

@@marilena4425 Athens for sure. We are fighting to get the photo albums so we can figure where else. She has her post cards in there. I know she traveled as much as she could. I have her evil eyes on leather rope, frogs figures and pins and most other things she brought from Greece. She knew I would be the one to bring her back.

There is two types of mousaka were I’m from. If you are from near the mountains, they make it with potatoes instead of eggplant. I really don’t like eggplant so my parents make it mountain style with potatoes

Yall who want to visit Greece and wish to have a great time there, please for no reason, don't ever eat in a tourist spot, we locals never go there. Frist of all the food is not as good (idk it sounds dumb but it is what it is) and it is TOO expensive. Also, you don't have to try the moussaka, try the pastitsio instead, it tastes soo much better. Like trust me on this one, that if you love pasta like me, you are gonna adore it.
