from a wise commenter
Food shouldn't have to be costed by money- it's what we pay for cuz people are the ones making it for us to eat, and it's what they're profiting of. Food is made by earth's natural resources. Animals, plants, seafood, etc. If food didn't have a price we would've still had something to eat without the use of money.
@@simonotori1948getting food and preparing it takes effort though… so when other people do all of that work for you, that’s why you have to pay. Or you can go and do all of that yourself, except backbreaking labour on a farm + years of cooking skills and experience aren’t exactly something I consider “free” or easier.
@@simonotori1948ok but everything costs something, it doesnt matter if you’re paying money for your food you’re going to pay something. If not money, you’ll be paying the labor it takes to make that food. Even if you’re using money you’re paying the labor it took to get that money. If you’re asking for food to be free then you’re just a bit greedy

The first mistake is to visit France for Paris despite there are thousands of great places outside of Paris there.
The fact that the waiter in no.2 cafe rolled her eyes was just PURE gold.
I must watch this again I was so focused on the hot chocolate lol
Parisians are extremely rude. I went for a class trip, and was completely turned off just having to walk through the airport. Imagine being 16, just stepping off the terminal, and having 10 different French people yell at you in French. Then they lost my bag and yelled at me for it. People run into you on the street. Don’t expect a sorry or an excuse me, not gonna happen. You better be smaller than a US 0 if you don’t want everyone rolling their eyes at you in disgust just walking into a store. You couldn’t pay me to go there again.

This is how to make it at home:
Ingredients:
Cocoa powder
Milk (or water)
Whipped cream
Steps:
Start by pouring milk in the cup. If you're using water, same as the milk.
No matter if you use water or milk, just put 2-3 tea spoons of hot cocoa in the cup.
If you want the hot chocolate to be hot, put it in the microwave as long as you want. You can also keep it cold.
When it's ready, get the whipped cream in the hot chocolate, and put as much as you want! Then stir it and enjoy!
Hope this helps!

That’s exactly what I freaking did. I said no immediately
BTW you can make Angelina's Hot Choclate at home by just putting 2 parts chopped bittersweet chocolate, 1 part cream and 1 part milk in a pot and melting it together.
But I normally make it 1 part chocolate 1 part cream and 1 part milk. It's a little lighter and I find it easier to drink.
Also you could add some cinnamon for a little bit of flavor or adjust the chocolate to how dark you like it! If I want something a little bit thicker I’ll add a tiny bit of corn starch to thicken it
Jordan... is that you? 😅

I can get bigger and very delicious croissants for $1.5 at any local bakery around my residence,it always amazes me how extremely different the pricing can be depending on where you live and if you are a tourist or if the place is charging extra just for the ambience and popularity.

Nope! It costs five dollars to make and costs like a dollar to buy.
@@hiimlexi wow that's a pretty nice price, thanks for answering! maybe I'll visit Haiti someday 😍
That's a good question because chocolate is native to America, not Europe. The European colonists here, however, would have imparted their own preferences on preparation of the native ingredients 🤔
Well, I don’t know a lot about the origin. But I do know that we have cocoa bean trees in Haiti because I’ve been sent some from my grandma. It’s the only way we can make choclat here. So I guess all in all I don’t really care that much about the origin haha.
NGL Those hot chocolates and croissants look DELICIOUS
The only french people there are the waiters.
No french person in their right mind will pay 12€ for hot chocolate!
Prices are 5,5€ for hot choclate and 1,5€ for croissant. Sadly in France we are not good with hot chocolate or coffee, so if you are into it you shoud go to Italy ❤.
Coffee I'd agree, but French style hot chocolate is better imho (and now my nonna and my grandmaman must be fighting in the afterlife xD)

You all are taking that comment WAY too seriously. I'm in the "I'm not about to spend $20 on hot chocolate, no matter how much money I make" tax bracket. Hot Chocolate and drinking chocolate are different. Hot chocolate is made with equal parts milk and/or cream. It has a lighter more fluffy mouthfeel, and is thinner in consistency. It’s also very sweet. Drinking chocolate is literally melted chocolate that is dense, and velvety with more complex flavors. It can be served bittersweet if that’s what you prefer. It usually has very little to no milk or cream, but is almost always topped with whipped cream that’s folded in. Drinking chocolate is the most popular in Europe. I prefer drinking chocolate. It’s very rich, and so delicious!
...places like Angelina's put cornstarch in it to make it thicker...gross. Chocolate melted with a touch of water served in a tiny cup with a tiny spoon is just amazing.

So I’m told by a French chocolatier, however I’ve eaten at the main restaurant a couple of times, soup to nuts, and it’s the experience that is lovely. Also, Angelina has a cafe in the Louvre; the chestnut gelato was delish.

I'm french and from paris, let me tell you that both places you went to are made for tourists and are really overpriced (but everything is overpriced in paris)
If you want a good hot chocolate just buy milk and a good dark chocolate tablet made for pâtisseries in any supermarket, and just melt the chocolate in the milk on your stove on low heat (you can add sugar to taste) it'll cost you a fifth of the price for a big mug
and buy some croissant at the boulangerie, fancy cafe have the worst ones bc they don'tmake those the day they sell it, a fresh one will taste better
Or even every bistro from nation to republique will serve the exact same chocolate for 4euros..
